High School Never Ends

I turned to face the big warehouse that stood before me. Quickly, I scanned the entire building before I notice a fire escape. I scrambled up the fire escape until I was faced with a window. There was no way of breaking it quietly so I grabbed the bottom of the window in hopes that it wasn’t locked. Luckily, it lifted easily and quietly. Carefully, I climbed through but thought it best to leave the window open.
I scanned the room, looking for signs of any human life. All of a sudden, something crashed on the floor behind me and echoed throughout the room. I stood stock still awaiting my fate. Nothing happened. There were no footsteps, nothing. Slowly, I turned around and was faced with Mike and Tony tied back to back on chairs. Tony looked out of it but Mike was staring at me urgently. I looked down to his feet and saw that he had managed to knock a broom over to get my attention.
Quickly, I ran towards him and pulled the cloth out of his mouth. He breathed heavily, as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“You’re okay.” I quietly sobbed
“I’m okay.” He repeated. “But I’d sure as hell be a lot better if you helped untie me.” He chuckled
“Shit, yeh. Sorry.” I giggled almost silently
Before I untied him however, I cupped his face with my hands.
“I love you.” I whispered
“I love you too.” He whispered back
I leant in and kissed him gently on the lips. I could feel him smiling into the kiss and I smiled as well. However, the moment didn’t last as I had to snap myself out of it. Harshly, I pulled away and Mike pouted.
“The longer we stay here, the more chance we have of being caught.” I whisper-shouted
Mike nodded and I hurriedly untied his legs. Suddenly, Mike kicked me.
“Hey!” I yelped
I looked up to scowl at Mike but saw him looking down at me with wide eyes. I turned around to see what was worrying him and heard footsteps and laughter. Panicked, I grabbed a glass bottle from the floor and stood in front of Mike and Tony.
“Ari, untie me!” Mike pleaded
“You’ll get yourself killed.” I explained, trying to hide my fear.
“Ari, plea…” Mike was cut off by two men entering
“Hey, Jerry. Look his little girlfriend’s come to save him.”
“Back off!” I growled
“She’s got confidence, I like it!” The other man chuckled
They stepped towards me and I stepped back clutching onto Mike’s arm.
“We don’t want to hurt you.” They tried to look sincere
“Bullshit!” I screamed at them as I threw a bottle and hit one of them in between his eyes
He dropped straight to the floor and I saw the anger rise in the other man.
“You bitch!” He growled and ran forwards
I dodged his attack but was soon brought back by him grabbing my hair. I yelped in pain.
“You really believe that you can fight us all on your own?” He chuckled before throwing me to the floor.
Shakily, I crawled back away from the man.
“You’re pathetic, Aria.” He laughed in my face
“Stay the fuck away from her.” Mike growled
“What you gonna do loverboy? You’re all tied up.” He continued laughing
“I’ve got to admit though, Aria, you’re pretty tough. I thought that note would stop you all together.”
“Where did you get that!?” I screamed at him
“Took it from your sister.” He shrugged. “I didn’t really think she’d be needing it since she’s, y’know… dead.”
“You bastard, you had no right!”
“Jesus, have some dignity. At least your father and sister died quietly.”
“M-my… My father?” I choked out
“Oops, did you not know? I thought it was strange for you all to follow in his footsteps.”
“You killed my father.” I said in disbelief
“You didn’t have faith in him did you. You all just thought he would leave you, just walk out for no reason. Now, I’ll agree he was selfish. Doing all these drug deals is bound to get a guy killed, yet you guys wouldn’t have eaten if he hadn’t.”
“Why would you kill him?” I sobbed
“Well he didn’t keep up on payments. He was a traitor just like your skanky sister.” He spat
“HOW DARE YOU!” I screamed at him
I stood up, rushed forward and punched him square in the face. He stumbled back a bit whilst holding his nose. I could see the blood pouring out and covering his face. Angrily, he grabbed a gun from his belt. Instinctively, I cowered back.
“Don’t you dare touch her!” Mike screamed
However, the guy paid no attention. He cornered me before smacking me over the head with the gun. Instantly, I collapsed to the ground. My eyes got heavier and I couldn’t properly hear what was happening.
Suddenly, I heard a gunshot. I screamed out but felt no pain. It didn’t hit me, I wasn’t shot. So who was? Everything was silent. I screamed out Mike’s name but got no response. I cried out for him over and over until I completely blacked out.
