High School Never Ends
Wake Up Call
The night my sister died, was the night I promised to appreciate everything life gave me. Her best friend, Melissa, made it her duty to keep me safe, stop me falling into the same trap my sister did. However, this resulted in her younger sister, Amelia, being forced to be friends with me. It was all an act with Amelia, I knew that from the start but I had nobody else. For a year, I had followed her like a sheep, treating her like the bloody queen of England. People laughed, they thought I was a pathetic pushover. To be perfectly honest, I am.
It was only a month ago that I had realised I broke my promise. I wasn’t appreciating much in my life. So I changed; I took control. It wasn’t hard at all, actually. I explained my feelings, she nodded and walked away and I’ve not had any trouble with her since.
I’m perfectly aware, however, that her wrath is soon to come. Nobody gets off that easy with Amelia. She doesn’t give a fuck who you are, what you’ve been through, you’re just another person for her to walk all over. I quite admire her for that, she never treated me special after everything with my sister. I was glad. I think that’s why I stayed by her side for so long.
But now she’s gone, I’ve walked away. I don’t know if I’m happier or not. People don’t want to be friends with me. If I try and talk, they normally walk away or laugh in my face. My earphones are my best friends. However, I still get the feeling I’m being watched, somebody is always there. I just don’t know who yet.
