Believe

The night gets colder and later.

Almost close to midnight.

Everyone is either tipsy or passed out drunk.

Except for Vic for some odd reason.

I want to go to Rose's place for my present, but I can't drive.

I have had way to much to drink.

And walking in the cold isn't an option.

Rose could get sick the way she is dressedi tonight.

I'll have to ask my brother.

Vic is cleaning up all the alcohol cans around the house.

And I stop him.

"Vic." I say.

He turns around to his name.

"Yes?" He asks.

"Would you mind taking Rose and I back to her place? I can't drive..."

"Anything for my brother! Just let me know when you want to leave." Vic responds.

I help him clean up the house a bit before I tell him Rose and I are ready to leave.

Rose had been talking with Tony and Michelle as Vic and I cleaned up a bit.

She looked out of it.

But I have to remember it was more then likely her first time drinking.

"Okay one last time Tony pleaseee!" Rose laughs as I walk into the room.

"I'm a ninja turtle!!!" Tony jumps up off the couch shouting.

Michelle and Rose laugh hysterically.

"What's going on in here?" I ask.

"T-tonnnnyy is sooo funny Mike Fuentes!" Rose slurs pointing a finger at Tony.

I didn't realize how much Rose drank tonight...

"It's time to go Rose." I tell her.

Vic grabs his car keys heading for the front door.

"You're a par-tayy pooper you know that Mike Fuentes" Rose says getting up.

I take my jacket off putting it around her.

I know it was gonna be cold outside.

"Bye Rose!!!" Michelle shouts.

"Bye big boobs!" Tony laughs.

I glare at Tony walking out the front door.

I'm gonna let it slide for him being drunk.

We meet Vic in his car, getting in the back.

Vic starts to pull out of our driveway when Rose starts her drunk talking again.

"You know this is one hell of a dream guys, like right now I'm in a car with Mike and Vic Fuentes. Like that is so crazy." Rose slurs looking at me.

"My goodness... Your so handsome! Are you an angel?" Rose asks touching my cheek.

"No my love." I say trying not to laugh.

Vic looks in his reverse mirror at us.

"What makes you think Mike's an angel Rose?" Vic asks.

"He's everything I imagine my dream guy to be." Rose says smiling up at me.

I cup her face with one hand kissing her lips.

She kisses me back starting to pull my shirt up.

"Aye guys we are at Rose's place, can we save it till we get inside and shut the door?" Vic asks calmly.

I didn't realize how long we were getting into the moment.

I nod in agreement opening the door for Rose to get out as she does.

"Thanks big brother." I say getting out of the car.

Vic pulls out of the driveway as we walk to the front door.

Rose unlocks the front door opening it.

We leave the cold air and walk into a warm house.

I shut the door behind me locking it.

Rose kicks her shoes off to the side.

And I do the same.

"Follow me Mr. Fuentes." Rose calls as she walks into the bedroom.

"I'll be right in their darling." I say as I go into the living room, grabbing the
box of condoms I bought the other night.

A few spill on the floor, and I don't bother to pick them up.

I slip the condom in my pocket and run into the bedroom.

I walk into the bedroom to see no sight of Rose.

Just the bedroom the way it was before we left.

Ready for our special night.

Then I hear hurling noises coming from the bathroom.

I walk in the bathroom at the sight of Rose sitting in front of the toilet puking.

I sit next to her rubbing her back.

Rose flushes the toilet as soon as she sees me.

"You don't have to be here." Rose states.

"I want to be here."

She sighs looking at me.

"Are you still feeling like you need to throw up?" I ask rubbing her back in circles.

She shakes her head no.

I get up helping her to her feet, then sweep her into my arms.

"I think you need to get some rest to get rid of this hangover." I say walking with her in my arms to the bed.

"Mhm." She responds leaning her head on my chest.

I know now tonight isn't an option, but good things come when you wait.

I put her down gently on the bed.

Rose's eyes closed, lips plump and red, her hair to the sides of her body, and the tight red dress.

She looked like she was in some sort of pain.

More then likely it's her hangover.

But this look she gave was a different kind of pain.

She turns to her side, grasping onto the pillow.

I see the zipper on the back of the dress and unzip it carefully.

I unzip it to the point where I am unable to unzip anymore.

The dress now fits lose and I pull the dress down off her body.

She doesn't move an inch. She just holds onto the pillow her head is laying on.

I leave her in her underwear and bra, and I cover her with the blanket that sits at the foot of the bed.

I get it half way up her body when I'm stopped by something on her lower back.

I move a little closer to get a better look at it.

It looks like a bad cut, and it looks like it could be a little infected.

How did my clumsy girl get this?

She hasn't been outdoors where she claims to get all cut up.

Maybe she doesn't know about it.

After all it's on her lower back.

Then it hits me.

The cut still looked fresh.

The appearance of Tyler, who stopped by last night for a visit pops into my mind making me clench my teeth together.

Anger starts to build up inside me, adrenaline through my veins.

How dare he lay a finger on Rose.

I leave the room quietly not to wake Rose and go outside to clear my thoughts before climbing into bed.

I know I will get my revenge on that son of a bitch one way or another.

*Rose's POV*

I dream of Mike, him taking me somewhere far away.

Just him and I.

Traveling the world together, seeing new things.

I wake up at the best moment of my dream.

Just as usual.

I can't tell if awoke from a sound, or I am just simply not tired anymore.

I look over to see Mike's lips slightly parted and his chest full of tattoos.

I hear a car pull into the driveway and it makes me curious as to who it may be.

Maybe Michelle decided to stop by, she usually does on Sundays.

I walk to the living room where the window is slightly facing the driveway.

Just enough to see who is parked in front of the condo.

I notice the car.

It's a white 4-Runner, much like the one my mother drives.

Usually she uses that car for long road trips.

She always used to say "I love my 4-Runner, it has a lot of power!"

Then it hits me.

My mother is visiting me...

She has no clue about Mike. And she would never allow it.

And I would be forced to live in Arizona once again.

I see her get out of the car collecting something's from the back.

I still have time.

I run into the bedroom shaking Mike to wake up.

"Mike! Mike! Wake up baby please! You need to get out of here!" I panic as I shake him out of his sleep.

His dark eyes blink looking at me.

"What?" Mike asks rubbing his eyes,

"Get up! You have to leave out the back door right now!" I say with even more of a panic.

"What's wrong Rose?" Mike asks pulling the sheets off his long skinny legs.

"My mom is in the driveway, she came for a surprise visit! You have to go before she sees you! Please hurry up!" I say pulling my hair anxiously.

Mike jumps up putting his clothes on.

I grab some of the clothes he leaves behind when he stays over and throw them under the bed.

I put on my silk robe to cover my bare body.

He rushes to put his shoes on and the door bell rings.

Mike and I look at each other.

A couple seconds pass before I kick him out.

"Go! Get out of here! Hurry!" I say pushing him out the back door.

"Wait! Can I get a kiss?" Mike asks puckering his lips out a little.

"No! You need to leave!" I say shutting the back door on him.

I run to the front door answering it.

"Hi mom!"
