Chapter 26: Kissing in Cars

Today was the day of the homecoming concert that Vic wanted me to photograph for. It started the become a thing to be hungover for shows. Guess it was something I had to get used to being with a band that drank a lot.

We had all stayed over at Trista's the previous night considering no one was sober enough to drive back home. Tony and I had woken up next to each other on the couches upstairs in the morning. We had wrapped ourselves up in towels and blankets after falling in the pool last night and fell asleep all bundled up together.

Since we woke up earlier than everyone else, we decided to change our clothes and take a little drive up the trail by the house so hang out a bit and get some fresh air. I was very hungover and wasn't feeling too great. All the drinking in Europe had finally caught up to me and my liver was making me pay for it.

I drove us up the hill in my car and stopped at a spot that that overlooked all of San Diego. You could even see the ocean from all the way up here. I rolled down the window to feel the cool morning breeze on my face. I smiled and leaned back in my seat.

Tony looked at me as I put the car in park. "How do you know about this spot?" He asked.

"Razell and I came up here after I saw you guys live for the first time. We didn't want to go all the way back to Los Angeles after, so we drove his car up here and fell asleep." I smiled at him. "Trista and I come up here every once and a while to hang out too."

"I come up here all the time. It's a nice place to relax." he said as he opened his car door and got out. "Come on."

I opened my car door and walked around the front to meet him as he sat on the hood of my car. His hand took mine and he continued to smile at me. I sat next to him and leaned over and kissing his lips without hesitation. His lips curled even more into a smile under mine as he kissed me back.

I couldn't help but to feel butterflies in my stomach each time we kissed. Wait, that wasn't butterflies...

I pulled away from him suddenly and felt my insides turn as I threw up in front of the car. I leaned over and continued to cough and spit.

Tony's arms were immediately around me and his hand rubbed my back gently. "Rax, you okay?" He asked in a concerned tone.

All I could do was shake my head and continue to retch. I felt him leave my side for a moment and get off the hood of the car. He came back a few seconds later with a water bottle in his hand that he put into my view. I grabbed it and washed out my mouth a bit. I sat there breathing heavily, everything around me spinning, my body getting cold sweats and shaking. Yup, I was hungover.

"Rax, do you need anything?" Tony asked as he stood in front of me, his hand on my shoulder.

"I think... we should just go back to Trista's place." I answered as I took the water bottle to my lips again and rinsed the gross taste out of my mouth as much as I could. At least I didn't feel all woozy anymore.

Tony nodded. "I'll drive."

I got into the passenger seat slowly, making sure I didn't throw up in my own car. I closed the door behind myself and pulled down the mirror in front of me looking at my face. I was pale, my hair was stuck to the sides of my face and I was a mess.

"I look like shit." I said as I flipped the mirror back up and sank into the seat.

Tony got into the drivers side and closed the door behind himself. "You look beautiful." He said instantly.

I chuckled and looked at him. "I'm a mess, Tone... you don't have to s-"

"I mean it, Raxella. You're beautiful." He insisted as his hand touched my cheek.

My eyes couldn't look away from his. He was perfect. What had I done to make him fall for me? Our lips were drawn together like magnets, but I remembered last second that I had icky puke breath. I pushed him back slightly before he regretted it.

"I have pukey breath, Tony..." I looked away in embarrassment but I then felt his hand back on my cheek to make our eyes meet again.

"I don't care. I want to kiss you..." he whispered in a soothing tone.

Tony didn't care. Most guys would have gone running the other direction but he wanted me no matter how sick I was or if I was spewing lava. He'd get burnt just to kiss me.

"God damn you..." I groaned a bit as our lips crashed together for a loving kiss.

He pulled me closer as we leaned over the seats. Within an instant, he pushed his seat back and pulled me into his lap, making me straddle him, his hands on my hips. I felt him tug at my lower lip with his teeth, knowing he was getting turned on. His fingers pushed up my shirt slightly and I felt him touch my bare skin.

Things weren't spinning anymore and his touch made me feel better. His kisses made me feel better. He made me feel better.

Our lips parted from one another and our eyes opened to once again to meet. His hands instantly went to cup my face as we stared into each other's eyes.

"Vic told me about the discussion you two had that first day at the hotel before we left... he told me how nervous you were to talk to me." he smiled. "Did you ever think we'd end up like this...? Falling in love and kissing in your car?"

I shook my head and rested my hands on his shoulders. "No. I figured it be just like any other photo job I had. Go take pictures, come back and get back to work. Sometimes the unexpected things are the best."

He nodded in return as he moved a hand to brush my hair out of my face a bit. "They are..." he whispered as he placed his fingers under my chin to make our lips meet again.

After a couple more innocent kisses, we decided to finally head back to Trista's down the hill. We arrived back to the house and Mike was out front smoking a cigarette. His eyes followed us over his sunglasses as Tony parked my car in the driveway next to the two other cars that were there.

Mike held the cigarette in between his fingers and exhaled smoke as we got out of the car. "Where were you guys?" he asked.

"Went up to the spot on the trail for a bit. Rax is really hungover. " Tony answered.

I closed the car door behind myself. "I just needed some fresh air." I added.

Mike nodded and took another drag from his cigarette and exhaled again, still looking slightly suspicious at us. We walked passed him through the front door and into the house.

We made our way upstairs and decided it would be best if we both took showers to help get over our hangovers. Separate showers... get your mind out of the gutter.

I stood in the stream of warm water from the shower head and felt a lot better from just that. I leaned against the wall and felt the cold tile on my skin. It would make most people jump, but right now it felt nice. I washed my hair, face and body and got out of the shower bundled up in a light blue towel. As I exited the bathroom, I sat back down onto the couch upstairs, my eyes wandering to look out the window as I leaned my elbows on the windowsill.

I had a bit of a headache but I didn't feel like I was going to get sick anymore. At least that was a good thing. Today was going to be a long day.

I'm so sorry to hear you lost your best friend. I lost mine too. I have a yellow ribbon I always wear in a locket with his picture.

Someone told me once..."Sometimes people come into your life for a certain time. They can stay forever, or they can't. All you know is that they changed you in your heart."

I love this story. It's amazing.
