Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light

Hello everyone! If you read the last notes for the chapter before this, you'll know I'm having a contest! (Or you know, you read the title of this chapter.....)

Why a Contest Now?
So many of you might be asking, "Chaos'sWolf, you were just battling some stories that had copied Rage. Why the heck are you opening this up to the public now?" Good question.

The answer for this contest is that I'm partly curious to see what you guys come up with, partly want to see if the rules will be respected again (I expect you guys will all be awesome and respectful), and partly because I'm just insane. I'll be honest. I'm crazy to open this up again but I want to have fun as the story comes to a close.

What's It about?
To keep it short: There's a reason I leave out a lot of details about Virgo. I want more Rage's fan input as to what happened to her while she was on the BMTH bus, how she escaped, etc. This contest is to determine who would be the best candidate to write a separate story about whatever happened to Virgo Greening.

Contest Dates:
Starts: 3/7/15
Ends: 4/10/15

You have a little over a month to write your stories!

Requirements to Participate:
-Must be a member of one of the sites. (Not open to Of Mice and Men Site for privacy purposes. There is a reason why Rage isn't on the OM&M site anymore. I won't allow Virgo's story on there as well just for it to be copied. Sorry.)
-Must have at least written one story. You may still be in the process of updating that story, but your contest entry may not be your very first story.
-Must be able to update twice a week. Yes, you can do two chapters in one day if you wish, but you HAVE to be able to update. I DON'T WANT TO AWARD YOU THE PRIZE OF WRITING VIRGO'S STORY IF YOU'RE NOT EVEN GOING TO COMMIT TO IT!
-Must be able to have fun with the story! Seriously, don't just BS this. Make it good! All the readers of Rage will be reading it! Do you really want to look like an idiot who is just throwing words at the screen and hoping it falls together?

Topic:
To make this more interesting, you have a choice between two topics.

Topic One:
You will be writing a short story on....*drum roll please*.....YOU!
That's right...put yourself in the story. No, I change that...put yourself in Rory's shoes. The topic of this contest is what would YOU do if you were kidnapped? Would you plot revenge? Would you live out your days like Rory in the Motionless in White bus? Would you escape? HOW would you escape? What would you do IF you escaped?

You don't have to answer every single one of these questions, but you must base the main character off yourself and your reactions if you were put in Rory's situation, kidnapped by your favorite band. Please keep your reactions as truthful as possible. Make your story entertaining and enjoyable to read, but don't write what others think. This is about YOU! (It does NOT have to start off with BMTH kidnapping you. Use whatever band your twisted mind desires :D)

Topic Two:
You will be writing a short story on....*more drum roll please!*....THE KIDNAPPERS!

Choose your favorite band member. Mike, Jaime, Alan, Tino, Chris, Gabe, Justin, Kellin, Oli, Jordan....I don't care. Choose one and you will be writing their role. What are they like? What is band life like with a little 'pet' on the bus? How do they treat the girl? How do they ACQUIRE their little slave? Do they buy it off another band or take her themselves? Is your role a more peaceful, calm kidnapper? Or are they dominant and forceful? What happens if the girl escapes? Do they HELP them escape? (Much like Ricky and Gabe just "let" Rory go free.) What happens AFTER the girl escapes?

Just like Topic One, you don't have to answer all of these questions. They're merely suggestions to write about. I'd love to see what you think the band members are thinking as they kidnap a girl. NOTE: If you are writing this topic, the girl under possession MAY NOT be Rory or Virgo. You must create another character to fulfill that role and not any of my OC's. You can have the band member fall in love/despise/doesn't mind the girl.

OH AND HERE'S AN INTERESTING NOTE.........BECAUSE I'M WILLING TO PUT MYSELF OUT THERE......

So, I feel like having a little fun. You all are fun people to interact with. Just bare with me.

Um, you can use me as a character. Yeah, that's right. Use the author. Either topic. I don't care how I'm thrown in. I'm willing to be a character in the story if you can't seem to imagine someone. Do you have to use me? No. I don't require this. I just thought it might be a change of pace to throw myself out there. The only rules if you use me:
1. Use the description provided below.
2. I don't require using me as a character, but if you do, just give me warning, okay? Okay.
Description:
Name: Just use Chaos. It's fine.
Appearance: Dirty blonde hair. Blue eyes. Kind of pale skin.
Temper: Shy, reserved, submissive, stubborn, fearless, outgoing, loving... you choose. I'm interested to see what you think I am :) Rules for Entry:
-Length of the chapters doesn't matter.
-It is a short story so you must have AT LEAST three chapters. It's a story you will be helping me write, so you're writing a story for your entry!
-Please, please, PLEASE make it look nice! Unlike my last contest, I WILL be judging your entry on the presentation. Having tons of spelling errors/making it look like it's typed on your phone/capitalization errors are a huge mark off. Write this like you're writing another chapter for Rage! Please!
-If you have some errors (spelling, grammar, etc.) That's fine. If it's obvious you were texting this, I probably won't even finish looking at your entry.
-YOU MAY NOT USE RORY or VIRGO AS CHARACTERS. Mentioning them is okay. Using them as characters is not. I want creativity in this contest! Feel free to use Casper/Jason/Grey and give me credit for those OC's. Actually, if you incorporated those characters in, that would be really cool. Again, credit please.
-Have fun with this! Make it interesting and unique, something that no one else would think to write! Use your awesome imagination that I know you posses!
-You have to post this on these fanfic sites. Please, don't send me a link to any outside sources in a message, most because I read over all entries more than once and I will often forget about links that you send me. Please, keep it on the site! If you have an issue posting, just let me know and I'll do my best to look at it in a different format.
-STEALING MY IDEAS AND COPYING THE PLOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM IS NOT ALLOWED. WE'VE BEEN OVER THIS. THERE IS NO STEALING MY PLOT IN ANY WAY AT ALL. Prize!
Everyone loves prizes, so here's the fun part!

There is only one prize awarded. Sorry, but I can't send out any prizes in the mail this time.

The first place prize.....You will be in charge of writing Virgo's own story line! You'll have full creative lease on what you want to happen to Virgo with a few little tags. (It's not bad. Basically, you just have to remember to include things like the iPod, communicating with MIW, and a couple other things that come in later.) You get to write your own little piece of Rage! We'll be able to talk back and forth and if you need help writing some parts or want ideas on what to write next and I'll be able to give advice, but it'll be your own writing style, your own words, and almost whatever you want!

NOTES PLEASE READ!:

Okay, first off, this should be obvious and I already stated it. DON'T STEAL RAGE IN ANY WAY! If you're writing Topic One and you want to just copy off one chapter....yeah, that's not gonna fly. You'll be instantly disqualified.

But I don't think I'll have to worry about that too much because all of you are the ones that have backed me up and have been great supporters of the story, so I don't really have to be to nit picky about this. :)

Second, I can't stress this enough but be CREATIVE! Please, please, please do something out there! It makes for a good read! If your character was stolen as a four year old and was basically raised as a slave by the bands, well, DO IT! I would totally read that plot line! Just find something that makes you daydream about the later chapters and go for it! I want to see well written, imaginative plots, not some cheesy, boring stuff. You guys have a thing, in between your ears, and it's called a brain! I know you all have a wonderful imagination, I mean, look at your usernames! You had to think about it and had to have some creativity to make it up!

Lastly, respect others! Again, I'm not too worried about the whole respect thing. You all seem to like each other alright, so I'm not concerned about you all, but please respect each other's stories. If I find out you copied someone else's entry, you're disqualified! Simple enough!
