Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light

Wild Men Who Caught and Sang the Sun in Flight...

Friday, December Twenty-first, 4:26 P.M…

I was finally able to stand up. I had been walking around a little bit today. Chris and the others had been in conference with Sleeping with Sirens. Gabe and Ricky still had no clue that I knew they were aware of everything I knew, everything and Jason.

I continued to wonder about Jason.

I heard the words in the front lounge. They were talking about me, what they shouldn’t allow me around, things like keys, sharp objects, and they shouldn’t leave me alone for long periods of time, or any time at all.

The entire time, I had a plan for revenge. I knew what I would have to do. Tonight, I would beg Ricky to let me sleep with him because he and the boys were staying in the Sleeping with Sirens bus. If I could sleep with him in the bunk, I could wake up early in the morning and get to their little ‘toy box’…where the cattle prod was.

And from there, the rest of the plan would go just as easily.

But it all rested on Ricky letting me sleep with him in the bunk. It would be a last little night together, type thing, but also because he wouldn’t question when I got out of my bunk really early in the morning.

My sides were still a little sore and if I did too much movement, it hurt, but I was healing. I buried my face deeper into the pillow, trying to block out harmful thoughts.

Soon, soon I will be freed.

I remembered the spot where Jason had told me he had left rope and cutters. It was in cabinet in the bus. He said to use it just in case during the escape. I didn’t question where he got bundles of rope, but was happy he did give me access to it.

I wiggled out of my bunk, hobbling over to where the boys were in a meeting. I wanted to talk to Ricky, to be with him again. Did he really mean what he said about escaping with me? Would he ever really do that?

I wanted to talk to him about it, but that would mean giving away that I had been awake last night. I would save it for later…if there would be a later.

“Hey, we didn’t tell you to come out.” Chris growled. Woops, I had forgotten about him. I ducked back, scurrying back to my bunk. Shoot. Well, I’ll wait for later.

An hour passed by before someone came to get me from my bunk. I looked out and saw it was Ricky. I hugged his waist from my bunk. He chuckled and stroked my hair.

“Hey, darling. Are you feeling alright?” He whispered. I nodded, smiling to him. He leaned down and kissed my cheek.

“It’s going to be okay.” He checked over his shoulder to watch for Chris. Making sure no one was looking, I tugged him into my bunk. I rolled in here, closing the curtain. His arms wrapped around me, as if holding me protectively.

“Sir?” I put on my best soft, submissive voice.

“Yes, Rory?” He asked, stroking my cheek gently. I snuggled under his chin, the safest place in this bus.

“C-can I sleep with you, please?” I asked. He smiled down at me, slightly sadly. He thought over it for a minute before biting his lip and looking out the bunk’s side.

“I’ll ask the others. I think it’d be fine if I asked Gabe.” Ricky winked. I smiled and kissed his collarbone. He hummed happily.

“Thank you.” I whispered. He laughed and then crawled out of bunk. I curled back under my blankets as he squeezed my hand. I heard him go out to the front, ask Gabe and then return to me.

“He said yes.” I knew he would.

“Thank you.” I responded against. Ricky smiled before walking away. It looks like things would be working out for the better. As soon as I closed my eyes, I heard someone call my name softly. I poked my head out of the bunk. It must be coming from the front lounge. I slowly stood up, wincing from the frazzled nerves. I walked out towards the front.

Ghost stood there, smiling at me. I couldn’t help but sigh in relief. I watched Chris eyes me from the corner.

“Hello there, Rory. It’s been a long time.” He grinned, opening his arms for a hug. I gladly fell into them.

“Hello there, sir.” I responded. He let me go, his smile falling away to a worried look.

“Chris wants to see you.” He whispered. I gulped and he patted my back. I walked over to Chris, standing in front of him.

“Sit.” He commanded. I went to sit on the couch next to him. I didn’t even sit down before he kicked my legs out from under me, making me fall right in front of him. I whimpered a little from the pain.

“When I say ‘sit’, you sit where you’re standing.” He growled. I bowed my head respectfully to him.

“Yes, sir.” I squeaked out. He leaned forward, his hands cupping my face, nails digging into my skin. He forced my face up to look at him. I just had to deal with this for one more day, one more day, and then I could go and leave, just leave…

“We’ve been talking with the boys, and we’ll be taking you back on our bus to break your bad habits. It’ll only be for a few days, but it’s enough to break your will and crush any rebellion, got it, pet?” He growled. I shivered and nodded, whimpering some more as his nails dug into my skin.

Now, more than ever, I had to escape. And I had to succeed. I couldn’t fail.

“What do you say?” He snarled.

“Y-yes, sir!” I squealed as he released me. I rushed to my legs, wanting to howl in pain. I hobbled back to my bunk, passing Ghost on the way. He ruffled my hair affectionately, throwing me a pitying look.

A few hours later, it was time for lights out. The boys had come back early. They were in the lounge, all relaxing. Ricky was curled up in a corner of the back lounge, holding me on his lap. He held a cold cloth to my forehead, trying to ease my headache and sensitive skin.

“Are you feeling any better, darling?” He asked me quietly. I nodded slightly. He leaned back into the plush cushions, adjusting so that he stretched out and I lay on his chest. He dabbed the cloth against my hot skin.

“R-Ricky, Chris told me he was taking me back to your bus to break me.” I whispered. He sighed, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear. He wiped the cold cloth across my cheek.

“You’re going to be alright, okay? I know you will. You’re going to make it out alive.” He smiled, a grin that held something more than just meaning the bus. He didn’t mean the bus…He meant my escape. I just knew it.

Ricky laid the cold cloth over my eyes, covering my forehead a little. I was surrounded by dark, cold material. It was comforting. Ricky stroked my cheek lightly, just brushing it with the back of his hand as he laid down with me on top of him. I snuggled under his chin, trying to melt into his chest.

“You know what? I’m ready for anything that comes my way. When you, um, get back to our bus, I’ll get my due. I deserve what’s coming.” Ricky sighed. I turned, pulling the cloth down a little, looking at him. I reached up and touched his jaw lightly, just barely stroking it.

“It won’t hurt, I won’t make it hurt.” I whispered to him. The sadness in his eyes was unbearable. I leaned up, just barely enough to lean over him.

“I won’t let them hurt you. Just bear with me. I won’t let them hurt you.” I whispered. He nodded and I knew…I just knew…that we were both talking about the same thing.

“I’m not worried about it hurting. I’m just worried about the pain afterwards.” He whispered.

I looked at him curiously.

“I’m worried about when I’m left with the hole in my heart. I’m worried about what’ll happen to you on the, um, bus.” He smiled, as if he could just grin through the pain. I leaned down, pressing my lips to his. He kissed back, putting both hands on my lower back. I let go, leaving him with longing.

“And that’s the worst pain to bear, but I promise you, you’re going to make it through.” I whispered to him. We reconnected our lips, joining the connection. I flicked my tongue over his lip piercings. He hummed sadly, a soft vibration that made my heart hurt to see him like this. His tongue swept my bottom lip, asking for entrance. I let him have it, my tongue easily submitting to his. His passionate kissing expressed the longing and the sadness he had in him. I let a tear drip slowly down my face. He reached up on hand to wrap around my hair. All too soon, I had to break it.

“I’m sorry, Ricky. I have to do this.” I sighed and laid down on his chest. I felt him shake with sadness and he held me closer. Someone turned out the lights and we both got up, I left the damp towel on the back couch. Ricky took my hand and led me to his bunk. He took the inside this time, instead of me.

We both knew why.

I crawled in after him, snuggling to his chest. For all I knew these, are the last few hours I have with Ricky. And then, my vengeance will come. And it will be sweet.

Notes

Rory is leaving Ricky. For good.

Bye, Ricky :(

Aw, I know dear! It was so much fun to write this story, but eventually, it had to end! Feel free to reread it if you wish...I know I will be rereading it! I'll have a new story up soon, but I'm going to focus on finishing up some of my other works in progress as well.
(Hint hint: Look for a story called The Miraculous Second Life of Blue Eyes...I think you'll enjoy it and I'll get the first chapter posted soon enough! :))

They're so cute! *Sigh* I just wish this wasn't over but I guess all good things must come to an end...I just wish it didn't have to be that way, I love this too much to let it go and tbh I doubt I will forget this anytime soon. <3
