Glimmer Of Hope

Sorry for taking so long guys! I feel bad xc. Well here it is! I hope you like the changes!!!

I walk up the chipped brick footsteps to enter my home. I graze my fingers over the un-trimmed grass that covers the ground. The knob is broken so you just... enter. I take a look at the always gloomy sky before stepping into my home. I let out a deep sigh and drop my bag on the floor. I walk itothe kitchen only to find my mother sleeping on the couch with two empty bottles of whiskey snuggled into her chest. I wonder how much I'd need to do to get that kind of attention from her. I walk to the fridge and grab a Rockstar. I glare and huff at the light flickering on and off. That's the closest thing I have to an annoying younger brother. .. I walk up the stairs and unsuccessfully slam my door behind me. I'm exhausted! I slam my body against my bed and lay there. I then feel little paws jumping on my back.

"Happy!" I exclaimed letting out a small chuckle.


I ruffle his curls and get up from the bed. I look into my mirror and adjust my Bring me the Horizon muscle shirt and grab my hair brush. I brush my black red streaked hair when ifeel on a vibration in the back pocket of my black shredded jeans. I check my phone and I see I got a message from my close friend Emilie.

Emilie: Aye Alex come over now I have a suprrissseeee

I grunt and reply

Me: Not now im busy.

Emilie : c'mon we both know that's not true NOW GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE NOW

Me: Emilie I just saw you, can't it wait? We just got home from college and I have a shit ton of homework to do.

Emilie: no. It can't. Just come over AND CHECK YOUR MAIL

Me: ugh fine I'll see you soon

Emilie: YAY THANKS ILY BAE KISSES

I let out a half smile and got my sweater and walked out the door. I of course checked the mail and there was a letter for me... this was strange....

When I arrived at Emilie's house I see my friend Marien at the door checking her Instagram. She had her headphones on sk when I tapped her shoulder she jumped letting out a small yelp.

She turned to me and said " holy shit Alex you scared me" still trying to catch her breath.

" Sorry.... Hai" I said rather awkwardly.

" Hey!" She said adjusting her headphones.

I rang the doorbell and we stood in a very uncomfortable silence waiting for Emilie to open the door.

"Umm do you know what this is about? " Marien asked breaking the silence.

I chuckled and replied, " Honestly, I have no fucking idea" She giggled and we were back to that uncomfortable silence.

Emilie finally opened the door with an excited look in on her face. We both smiled and she made a sarcastic face.

" You guys act like you don't even know each other. Come on"

Marien and I both looked at the floor and she mumbled

" nothing to talk about..."

"yeah we just saw each other like thirty minutes ago" I replied under my breath

Emilie playfully rolled her eyes and let us in. When we were walking in I saw that Marien had a similar letter as mine. .. We said hi to Emilie's mom and walked to her room. She was bouncing up and down like we were back in high school. How immature. Thats when she pulled out the letter...
