Senior Year, Biscuits & The Fuentes Family As Told By Nelissa Brown

Horror Scenes, Complaining, Singing and Fuentes

Emptiness is as creepy. I was at a party but I got bored. Everyone's drunk accept me. Oh and B. And Cassie. And a lot of other people. There's still too many people drunk for me to find it interesting though. So I came to a diner. It's completely empty though. Eerie empty. Horror movie empty. There's a killer behind the counter empty. No, there's no killer. Hopefully.
I took a sip of my tea and dunked my biscuit into the mug. Even if it's creepy here it's quiet. I need to think. Vic hasn't even bothered to text me again. He can't come back after all he did. When he knew I didn't support him and made him go to college he wanted me gone. He was so horrible to me. He'd do anything to get his own way, if he killed him. But he loved me. So I loved him.
The door opened and I looked up. Jaime, Mike and Tony walked in laughing. Their eyes went to me and they stopped. They looked between themselves and Jaime grinned.
"Hey Nelissa." Jaime greeted me brightly. He came over and drank tea. Right from the tea pot. Idiot.
"Hey guys." I smiled. Tony came over and took one of my biscuits. Why does everyone do that? Then I looked at Mike. He was still by the door. He was glaring at me. I narrowed my eyes and glared back. If he wants a staring contest I'll give it to him.
"Nelissa!" Cassie exclaimed. She'd just ran into the diner, her ginger hair everywhere. She looks like a ruffled parrot.
"This isn't over " I told Mike. "What's up?" I asked.
"You look pretty, Cassie." Jaime told her kindly.
Cassie glared back. "I don't know what to do," she rushed. "Becky has been complaining about girls in crop tops, grunge posers and oranges for an hour straight." Cassie said desperately.
"The fruit or the colour?" Jaime asked.
"Both," Cassie frowned. "I don't know what to do. Everyone's getting close to stapling her mouth shut."
"Have you tried kicking her in the shins?" I asked.
"No, I can't hurt her!" Cassie rushed. Bless her.
"You could just tell her that she reminds you of someone she hates. She hates about ninety percent of people she knows so you have a lot of freedom there." I nodded.
"That'll work?"
"She's complicated." I shrugged.
"Can you come?" Cassie asked.
"You can have my tea." I told Jaime.
I got up and waved to the boys. I followed Cassie out and we started walking down the street to where the party was. "What was going on there with Mike?" Cassie asked politely. Of course she asked politely. She's Cassie.
"We were having a staring contest." I explained.
"Oh, I thought it was something else." Like what? Like what?! It was just a staring contest. Right?
I walked into the party house and saw B in the sitting room. "Grunge isn't dead. The wizard world is homophobic. Why aren't boxes called oxes?" she rambled.
"Shut up." I told her. B looked up and smiled.
"Want to go?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm sleepy." I said.
We headed out of the party. Then we started walking a few blocks to B's house. It's only one. But we have a revision class for those exams we have coming up tomorrow. I'll probably go hide in a pyramid of volley balls to sleep for something.
"Where did you go?" B asked as we reached her house.
"I went for tea, had a staring contest with Mike and told Cassie to kick you in the shins." I explained.
"A staring contest?" B raised her eyebrows.
"Yeah, I don't know who won though..." I trailed away.
We went upstairs and B threw some PJ's at me. They had Lord Of The Rings quotes on them. She's a nerd. I got changed and got under the covers with B. I feel all snugly.

I rolled over and opened my eyes. There was a weird gust of air in my face. I buried my face in the pillow. "Time to wake up Nelissa," B sang, awfully I should add. "Her yucky face, you won't miss her."
"B!" I groaned. "Stop!"
"Her hair is really wild. She looks just like the gruffalo's child."
"Please!"
"She roars and whines. But can't tell the time."
"I'm up! I'm up!" I exclaimed.
"Well guess what we're going to be late." she finished.
I sat up and ruffled my hair. B was already up and ready. I started to get myself ready with B hovering over my shoulder. I managed to grab some breakfast before we left. B isn't as well stocked as I am. There wasn't even any chocolate spread! Silly Vegans.
We left for school and walked inside. It was pretty empty it being a weekend and all. But when we went into class I saw everyone was here. Mike was sleeping I think. Poor him. "Rise and shine." I said and poked him in the head.
He looked up at me confused. "Hey, Nelissa?" he asked.
"Yes?" I replied as I took my seat.
"What did you mean yesterday?" Mike asked.
"About what?" I asked.
"You said it wasn't over."
"Oh, our staring contest." I smiled.
"You're silly." Mike shook his head. Me, silly. No.
But the teacher walked in and stopped us. I spent the session sleeping. I never drooled once. When I headed outside it was looking a little gloomy. B was going to her dad's so she couldn't walk with me. But after a few minutes it started to drizzle. That turned into heavy, Forest Gump rain. I was soaked. I was cold. I was more water than girl.
As I passed a park I spotted Mike. Weird. Not that I saw him, but that he was alone. I went over and poked him. He looked up and smiled.
"Hello." Mike said.
"Hi Mike."
"Lovely day." he grinned.
"Hmm." I replied.
"Let's go into the park, they'll be some cover." he said. We hurried into the park and found some trees where we could take shelter. I sat on the floor and Mike joined me.
"How come you're out in this?" I asked.
"Family stuff. My brother is causing a load of shit at home. We're not talking so I'd rather stay out as long as I can," What has Vic done now? "What about you?"
I said the coolest thing since cool was invented. "Sometimes I like to pretend I'm a duck."
"Right...?" Mike trailed away.
"Can I try something?" I suddenly asked. Mike nodded and frowned at me. I put some mud on my fingers and drew army lines on Mike's face. He laughed and got some mud on his fingers. He drew lines on my face too and made a dot of mud on the tip of my nose. I sneezed and sniffled.
"Come on. You're getting a cold. I'll drop you home."
"If you have a car then why are you in the rain?" I asked.
"Sometimes I pretend I'm a duck," he copied me. I stuck my tongue out. "Mature." he mocked.

@sleepingwiththedisco
I might just add a chapter here and there to it. I have loads pre written I just definitely don't have time to write. With working in retail over Christmas, working on the KKP and going to college too I have no time. But thank you lovely! You're so sweet! With Break The Barricade I'm not saying it's impossible, but so unlikely it'll be finished. Like I said I'm so busy and Simone is at university doing a psychology degree. I actually only get to speak to her properly around once a week because she's so packed! And ahh I see xoxo
