Senior Year, Biscuits & The Fuentes Family As Told By Nelissa Brown

Stalkers, Nuns, Cows and Fuentes

I sat back and watched in horror as hospital security came and escorted Dom out of Mike's room. She went out kicking and screaming while Mike stared in shock at her. The nurses kept of tutting and shaking their heads. I just sat there. If I'm quite maybe I can pretend it didn't say it. I'll say that Mike misheard me, I said squawker. That's it! Everything will be okay. No one will find out.
"I can't believe some people," Mike's mom shook her head. They've been called in. I guess having a stalker is serious business. "The nerve! And when you're still recovering too." It must be a family trait to not tell your parents about your girlfriend.
"I agree." his dad was nodding like a nodding dog.
"How long has this been going on?" Mike asked me.
"Oh, a while." Thanks brain.
"What was I doing about it before?" Mike asked.
"Just . . . you know. Taking precautions that sort of thing."
"Should we call the police, Victor?" his mom asked seriously.
"We might have to." his dad nodded.
"Coming here like that! It's taking advantage of the vulnerable."
"I'm not vulnerable." Mike huffed.
"Of course not," she said dismissively. "But you've lost some of your memories. You're just lucky you have such a good friend like Nelissa." He's so lucky.
"If it goes to the police will you give a statement, Nelissa?" Mike's dad asked.
". . . Sure." I finally said.
But what if they ask me to! What if Mike's parents do go to the police. They'll try to get a restraining order against Dom. Then I won't just have a crazy, stay-away-from-my-boyfriend Dom after me. I'll have a I've-been-in-prison-and-have-knowledge-on-how-to-kill-someone-with-a-wax-strip-and-a-toothbrush Dom on my tail. It'll be like Macgyver but much more brutal.
I keep lying. I don't know why. Maybe I have a problem. Maybe I need to go to therapy. Maybe I need to be sectioned. That must be it. I'll get put into a padded cell and have to share a room with a half Native American body builder called Squawking Hippo. He'll eventually kill me in my sleep. Then no one will come to my funeral because I'm a crazy person. They'll plant a tree for me in the hospital garden but no one will come visit my tree. And Squawking Hippo will be sent to prison and Dom will congratulate him for eventually finishing me off.
I need to stop lying. I need to stop thinking too but I don't think that'll happen. From this day on I'll never tell another lie in my life. I will be as good as gold. I might as well be a nun. I could do it. I don't swear much. I shouldn't drink, obviously. I don't smoke or take drugs. It's just the boyfriend thing I'd have to deal with. Not having a boyfriend would solve the whole Mike problem though.
That all went away though as the door opened. Vic walked in and looked at me, arms folded across his chest looking amused. No, more mocking. "Jesus." I muttered under my breath. I don't think I'm cut out to be a nun.
"Can I have a word?" Vic asked.
"Sure." I shrugged. Mike was smiling and looking at me all happy as I walked out. He even winked at me. The last thing I need is him trying to set me up with Vic. That's one ship I don't want to set sail again. "What's up?" I asked Vic once we were in the corridor.
"What's up!" Vic echoed. "How come a crazy girl ran into my house shouting about you?"
"In the house!" I gasped. "Maybe we should call 911."
"Not in the house. In my front yard."
"You said in."
"In. Out. What does it matter?"
"Depends what you're talking about." I reasoned.
"Okay, okay," Vic rolled his eyes. "She was screaming. Please tell me she was lying and you didn't tell Mike that his girlfriend is his stalker."
"Maybe . . ." I trailed away.
"Nel," Vic sighed. "Why?"
"Because Mike didn't even like her!"
"I know that," he puffed out. "But it'd be up to Mike to let her down. Not you."
"You know how I feel about her." I mumbled.
"I know." Vic said. I shuffled my feet and looked down.
"Will he remember?" I eventually asked.
"Nel, he will." Vic told me.
"Can you help me?" I rushed.
"Me?" Vic gasped. "What can I do?"
"You could help me, I don't know."
"I don't think that getting your old boyfriend to help you get a new one is the best thing." he told me gently.
"I thought you'd let me go."
"I never said that," Vic said. "I just know that Mike would be good for you and you'd be good for him. He loves you."
"Yeah, that means letting go!"
"It doesn't." he countered.
"So you haven't let me go?" I frowned.
"Have you let me go?" Vic shot back. I wasn't expecting that question. Have I let him go?
"Define letting go." I said awkwardly.
"So no." Vic said.
He looked up. I looked down. I thought Vic was saying something important but he was singing. I can't sing. I've always wished that I could. Everything was suddenly very tense between us. It's never tense. It wasn't even tense when Mike and Vic were arguing.
"How's your girlfriend?" I asked.
"I don't have a girlfriend." Vic said dismissively.
"What about that cow?"
"What cow?"
"Daisy."
"She's not a cow." Vic sighed. "And not my girlfriend. She's way too clingy."
"So, how is Daisy?" I asked casually.
"Clingy and available."
"Shame." I sighed.
"I bumped into Becky on the way."
"You didn't tell her?" I rushed.
"Sorry." Vic told me guiltily. "If it helps she threw her shoe at me."
"It doesn't." I grumbled. Then I turned to head back into Mike's room.

Notes

Hey! Wow, I dislike this chapter so much. Not much has happened but the next one should be better. Mike will be out of hospital! Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I was working and then I went to a party. I was planning on posting when I got back but I didn't get home until 9 am . . . Whoops. I'm also writing this having drank a full bottle of wine. So if it's rubbish I can blame the alcohol! What did you think though? What will happen? Will Vic help? What will Dom do? Favourite line?

Also if you want to enter my Eye Opener Contest then you have until tomorrow night to get your entry in! A quick 500 words and you could get some goodies sent to you from me! xo

@sleepingwiththedisco
I might just add a chapter here and there to it. I have loads pre written I just definitely don't have time to write. With working in retail over Christmas, working on the KKP and going to college too I have no time. But thank you lovely! You're so sweet! With Break The Barricade I'm not saying it's impossible, but so unlikely it'll be finished. Like I said I'm so busy and Simone is at university doing a psychology degree. I actually only get to speak to her properly around once a week because she's so packed! And ahh I see xoxo
