Senior Year, Biscuits & The Fuentes Family As Told By Nelissa Brown

Rejections, Vampires, Vomit and Fuentes

I've been trying to find out what's wrong with B for our entire Math class. She's never like this. She's so quiet and she keeps on angrily scribbling on her textbook. I nudged her and she looked up to glare at me. I shrunk back in my seat and frowned. I drew a flower onto my page and pushed it along to B. She looked down and I saw her smile.
"What's wrong?" I asked quietly.
"Nothing." B mumbled.
"Please, tell me." I tried.
"It's Tony." she sighed.
"What did he do?"
I saw her mess with her hair and fiddle with her pen. I can't do that, mess with my hair I mean. Remember what happened last time. "He kissed me." she eventually admitted.
"What?!" I exclaimed excitedly. "That's great . . . Wait, why are you sad?"
"After he kissed me he pushed me away and said nothing could ever happen because it wouldn't work and he's not worth it." Why would he do that?!
"Oh, B..." I bit down on my lip.
"I don't get it," B said. I could see her getting upset. She never gets upset, she just gets mad. "Am I not girly enough. Is that it?"
"You're really girly! You're super girly!" I reassured her.
We heard the bell go off but we stayed where we were. "Maybe he just thinks I'm a boy. A boy who's balls haven't dropped!" she rushed. "See!" B yelled and cupped her boobs in her hands.
"But the boys put themselves down, remember?" I urged. "Mike won't be with me because I went out with Vic. Tony won't be with you because he thinks he doesn't deserve you." I tried.
I saw Cassie walk in and come over. The boys had already left, luckily. "What's up?" Cassie asked. "Normally you're both he first out."
"My foot hurts!" I exclaimed. "I think it's broken!"
"What did you do?" Cassie asked urgently.
"I'm getting sympathy pains!"
"From who?"
"Vic?" I offered.
"He's broken his foot?"
"Not yet. But knowing him he will." I nodded. B looked at me in thanks.
"Anyway, are you both coming to my surprise party this weekends?" Cassie asked.
"Duh." B smiled.
"What party?" I frowned.
"My surprise party. Jaime is organising it."
"Then how do you know?" I frowned.
"He hid the list in his sock draw. I saw a question mark by your name." Cassie explained.
"Why haven't I gotten an invite?" I pouted.
"I got mine weeks ago." B said.
"I'm going to find them." I grumbled.
I got up and walked out. I tried to find them. If I were a Jaime where would I be? I eventually found them outside with Mike while he smoked. I marched over, took Mike's cigarette from his lips and threw it onto the floor.
"Hey!" Mike complained went to get it. I stood on it and he sighed. "What was that for?"
"Why aren't I invited to Cassie's party?" I demanded.
"You are," Jaime frowned. "I sent yours weeks ago."
"When?"
"When we were having lunch. You were with Oli. He said you'd gone to the bathroom so I just gave it to him to pass onto you." he explained.
"You- you did?" I stumbled over my words.
"Yeah, wait you didn't get it?"
"No." I muttered.
"That's why you never replied? I just thought you'd changed your mind and didn't want to moe a big deal out of it."
"I can't believe it," I breathed. "Oli has been watching me make Cassie's present."
"You've found yourself a great boyfriend." Mike mocked. But then he saw my face. He sighed and came closer to me. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and squeezed me. "What will you do?" he asked.
"I am now not talking to him." I said confidently.
"Wait, how did you find out about the party then?" Oh no. How did I find out? I need a non Cassie answer. Who does B hate?
"Vic?" I tried. Wow.
"Wait, who told him? I didn't." Mike said.
"B did?" Everything I say sounds like a question. "I should go."
"Wait," Tony rushed. "How is Becky?"
"She's insecure thinking how you don't like her because she isn't enough of a girl," I explained. "And she'll probably start talking about her ears when I go back. You don't think she has sticky out ears, do you?" I asked hopefully.
"No." Tony frowned.
"That's always nice." I smiled and waved to them.

I turned up to Cassie's party dressed as a vampire. I know there isn't a theme, but I want to give Mike his coven. I'm wearing a long flowy dark red and black dress. My hair is all bushy - not much change. But I'm wearing fangs! I have fake blood and everything. I even made B come as a vampire too.
We knocked on Jaime's door and Mike answered. He smiled and us and started laughing at me. I don't see why. "Wow, look at you." he grinned.
"Don't remind me." B grumbled and pushed past him. I handed Mike some fangs and he happily took them.
"Now you're cool too." I told him.
"I feel it." he said smoothly.
I went over to get a drink and started handing out fangs. I brought enough for everyone. It looks stupid if only a few people have fangs, we need an entire room full of vampires. That way we won't have anyone to bite. I'd hate to get blood all over Jaime's mothers rug. She's so proud of that rug.
While we were waiting for Cassie to arrive with Jaime I've had a few drinks. Not many really, just one or six. And a shot. I don't know what it was of, but it tasted gross. I'm feeling a little buzzed. Not drunk, never drunk. I'm seventeen. I'm not allowed to drink. You have to be twenty one. Don't arrest me officer.
"Cassie is coming!" Mike yelled.
Everyone started hiding. Wait! Where am I going to hide? I grabbed a bowl full of chips and turned it upside down before it went on my head. I stood all still and spat a cheese puff out of my mouth. "What are you doing?" B shot at me.
"I'm being a lamp!" I exclaimed proudly.
"Get under the table, you nutter." B said and grabbed me.
I sat under the table with her and waited. It's all quite odd. Everyone is pretending that they're not actually here, standing in the dark. Because the last time I did that it went so well. I hope Vic doesn't show up instead of Cassie. I didn't bring any fangs for him. And anyway, I'm not talking to him. Or Oli. Oli wouldn't suit being a vampire anyway.
Cassie walked in and looked around. The light went on and she fake gasped - rather well I should add. "Surprise!" Everyone yelled. Accept for me.
"Yeah, surprise!" I yelled on my own.
"I had no idea!" Cassie exclaimed. She was lying, but she's a good liar. I'm not. My mom always catches me out because I start laughing.
Everyone got up and went to wish Cassie a happy birthday. But I stayed under my table. I looked across the room from under my den and saw Mike was watching me. I don't know why. Maybe he's drunk. I'm not drunk, remember. I decided to stand up and go over. Or more accurately I stumbled over. But I'm totally not drunk. Maybe I have an ear infection.
Mike wrapped his arms around me for a hug. I hugged back. We hugged together. Then we both hugged the couch. Or we fell onto the couch. The couch was hugging us. It was a hugging fest of great proportion.
"You look so pretty tonight." Mike whispered in my ear.
"I do?" I asked, looking up at him. He was still hugging me. But hey, I'm not complaining.
"Yeah, like a sexy, dark vampiress."
"Don't I look like a sexy, dark vampiress everyday?" I frowned.
"Yeah, but you haven't been spending time with Dracula."
"Who's Dracula?"
"I'm Dracula."
"No, you're not, Silly," I giggled. "You're Mike."
"Don't remind me!" he groaned. "My name is so boring, Nelissa."
"Let's think of a new one."
"Okay." Mike grinned.
"Um . . . Trigger!"
"I like it," Mike said stupidly. "It makes me sound cool. Like I'm a gun. Like boom - Trigger has arrived."
"You're funny." I stuck my tongue out.
"That's because when you get older you get this filter where you don't do and day certain stuff, but you're like the anti filter. You make the filter disappear. You're the filter disappearer." he explained to me seriously. Now, I do like that. But I prefer Nelissa.
"Come outside with me?" I asked.
Mike nodded and took my hand. He helped me up and we headed outside. Mike went to stand over by a tree. I stood in front of him and he started playing with the bark on the tree trunk. I frowned at him and wrung my hands together. Mike took my hands and made me smile.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"You're so sorted, Mike."
"No I'm not." he laughed.
"Promise?" I asked.
"I promise, sugar plum."
"Did you just call me sugar plum?" I raised my eyebrows and he let my hands go.
"Yeah?" he offered.
"That's weird." I mumbled.
"Not into pet names?"
"I could be I guess," I reasoned. "It's a Mike word."
"Thanks Nel." Mike nudged me. Wait! He called me Nel. He hasn't called me Nel since he got with Dom. This seems important. What I'm about to say seems important.
"You're welcome, Mikey." I told him warmly.
He sighed and wrapped his arms around me. I rested my head on his chest and he patted my hair. I feel like a dog. But eventually he stopped and we just stayed there still for a while. "Nel," he muttered. "I know that I really hurt you bad when I started things with Dom."
"You did." I agreed quietly.
"And I think you have a right to know - you deserve to know why I did it."
"Okay." I nodded anxiously and pulled away.
"She's blackmailing me." Mike said and sighed heavily. Then that was when I threw up all over him.

@sleepingwiththedisco
I might just add a chapter here and there to it. I have loads pre written I just definitely don't have time to write. With working in retail over Christmas, working on the KKP and going to college too I have no time. But thank you lovely! You're so sweet! With Break The Barricade I'm not saying it's impossible, but so unlikely it'll be finished. Like I said I'm so busy and Simone is at university doing a psychology degree. I actually only get to speak to her properly around once a week because she's so packed! And ahh I see xoxo
