Senior Year, Biscuits & The Fuentes Family As Told By Nelissa Brown

Bravery, Almost Kisses, Betrayals and Fuentes

Now this is uncomfortable. This is probably the bravest thing I've done all year. Vic is still glaring and Mike and Mike is still glaring at Vic. You'd think they'd both be looking at me and realising the error of their ways. But apparently not. It's like I'm not even here.
"What are you doing?" Vic snapped. Oh, he's realised. Gold star for you Vic.
"How much did you hear?" Mike asked me eventually. Wow, so he's noticed too.
"Um... That depends."
"On what?" Mike asked.
"When you started arguing."
"Since we came up here." Vic said.
"Then yeah... I heard it all." I nodded. They both shifted under my hand. These boys are quite toned. They're glaring again. Oh no. "If you even try and hurt each other I'm going to hurt you both for the first time in my life." I rushed.
"First?" Vic raised his eyebrows.
"Okay, second." I shrugged. Vic slowly backed away and shook his head. I don't know what at. The weather. Pollution. Possibly this situation. He marched right out like a soldier.
"Um... Nel?" Mike asked.
"Yes?"
"You can take your hand away now."
"Oh yeah." I smiled. I took my hand away and followed Mike. He had gone to sit down. He put his head in his hands and started breathing. Not normal, I need oxygen to live breathing but I'm stressed out breathing.
"I just don't know how he could be so stupid, you know?" Mike sighed.
"I know." I nodded.
"Vic always looked after me. I should have done the same but I never did. I'm just so angry at myself." he admitted. And now I saw a different Mike. Not the one that had been laughing and smiling with me since September. A real-er Mike.
"Mike, Vic wouldn't never have accepted the help. With him you know he'll do what he wants. He'll do what he wants if it kills him, he doesn't plan," I said gently. "It's not your fault." I added. Mike looked up at me and nodded. He gave me a small smile and tucked some hair behind my ear. Quite brave if you ask me, by putting your hand in my hair you risk losing it.
"I like you, Nel." he told me. Isn't he sweet!
"I like you too, Mikey," I said easily. "I'm so happy we became friends."
"Friends," Mike echoed. Did I say something wrong? "That's it."
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Fine. I should go though." Mike told me.
"Okay, I'll see you." I smiled.
"Catch you later, Nel." Mike nudged me. He smiled and stood up. He waved and headed down the stairs and out.
I heard footsteps again and looked up. Vic was walking over. He took a seat next to me and leant back in his chair. "Why are you here?" I asked casually.
"I can't stay away from you, Nel. I'll take what I can get." Vic chuckled. He scooted close to me and I sighed. I looked at him and noticed just how close we were. If he puckered his lips up he could kiss me. Not that I want him too.
"Nel, by I like you what I meant-" Mike said but stopped. He walked up and glared between Vic and I. I pushed Vic away from me and looked down. "I see how it is." Mike snarled.
"Mike I-" I tried.
"What's going on?!" he demanded.
"It really isn't how it looks."
"Isn't it?" Vic asked.
"What were you doing? Letting Vic examine your tongue?" Mike shot at me.
"No." I mumbled.
"We're dating!" Vic exclaimed.
"What? We are not!" I countered. "Well, not anymore."
"I don't believe it." Mike shook his head. "Nelissa!" he sneered my name. "Do Mom and Dad know?" Mike asked and Vic shook his head. "Maybe someone should tell them."
"Don't," Vic snapped. "Don't bring Nel into this. You know they'll blame her for me dropping out. They're looking for someone to blame, it doesn't matter who."
"Wow, this is better than I thought," Mike laughed bitterly. "You love her," Vic didn't say anything, he just looked down. I know he's not going to admit it. It took him long enough to admit to me. "Out of all the girls you could have picked you chose her. You're so wrong for each other it's verging hilarious. You had to choose her though."
Wait a second. What's wrong with me? Is he saying that I'm just unlovable? That I don't deserve Vic's love? What I said earlier was a lie. I have never seen Mike as cruel as he is being now. I looked down and sniffed. I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry. Too late. I rubbed my eyes roughly with the backs of my hands.
"Look what you've done now!" Vic snapped.
"I can't believe what I was about to do," Mike muttered. "You know, I should leave you two alone. Please finish what you started." And sneered before he ran out.
"Mike!" I called. "Wait!" I begged. I got up and went to follow him. But me being me meant I failed miserably and fell flat on my face. This position makes me seem a whole lot more pathetic.
"Get up off the floor." Vic urged.
"No," I said shortly. I was lying flat on my belly. I refuse to move. "I would never have kissed you."
"You would." Vic countered.
"Says who?"
"Says me."
"You're not as clever as I thought then." I said.
"I am clever." Vic argued.
"That'd still make me cleverer than you, Mr Drop Out." I said and looked up. He was smiling smugly.
"I'm not the one lying on the floor. You're going to be covered in floor germs."
"You're going to be covered in . . . Shut the hell up!"
"Wow, your comebacks haven't gotten any better." Vic teased.
"Have so." I argued.
"Prove it." Vic smirked.
"God Vic, you're such a dog!" I exclaimed.
"Dog?" he echoed. "Is that the best you've got?"
"No, I think dog fits," I said smoothly. "Dogs are cute and I like them and they're charming and always try to lick your face. But after an hour I know they're no good for me, they aren't worth it even if they are cute they still leave me curled up in bed wanting to scratch my eyes out."
"I'm sorry." Vic sighed.
"You pin cushion!" I exclaimed. I probably could have done better than that.
"Did you just call me a pin cushion? Something you stick holes into." the corners of Vic's lips twitched.
"Yes I did. With any luck all the horrible will run out of the holes." I stuck my tongue out.
"I should have known you could never manage sensible and mature." Vic rolled his eyes.
"Of course I couldn't. That would be boring anyway." I said like he was stupid. Well, he is.
"We never meet to just hang out." Vic pondered.
"How can we? You give me one sentence phone calls. You only ever want to meet when you need me."
"That's not true." Vic frowned.
"Don't worry. It's okay," I shrugged. "I should probably go though. B will be looking for me." I said. I got up off of the floor and grabbed my stuff. I waved to Vic before I headed out of the diner.

Notes

Hey everyone! How are you? What did you think? What will happen next? Are all these drama filled chapters okay? It'll all calm down again soon. Tell me your favourite line. I spent all of yesterday plotting this story, 32 chapters in total if anyone's interested.

There's something I really want to try. All you guys give me so much confidence and make me smile so much with your messages. I don't know if anyone's ever done this on this site before but I want to have a little competition. I'll choose a topic/situation and all you have to do is write a one chapter thing. Easy, right? The one I feel is the best written and gets across the topic wins. What do you win? Jewellery made by myself. I have five rings (two cute flower rings and three dictionary style word rings) for the winner, and three rings (one dictionary style and two flower rings) for the runner up. If I get over four people taking part I'll do it. Message me if you're interested. Or comment for me to message you. Remember though you will need to give me your address if you win, it'll be announced through messages so you won't get any hate. Postage will be free too and worldwide! If it goes well I might do some every two months or something. I really want this to work!

Anyway, stay beautiful xoxo

@sleepingwiththedisco
I might just add a chapter here and there to it. I have loads pre written I just definitely don't have time to write. With working in retail over Christmas, working on the KKP and going to college too I have no time. But thank you lovely! You're so sweet! With Break The Barricade I'm not saying it's impossible, but so unlikely it'll be finished. Like I said I'm so busy and Simone is at university doing a psychology degree. I actually only get to speak to her properly around once a week because she's so packed! And ahh I see xoxo
