Eternal

For the first time ever, I’m hosting a contest! It’ll be the Chaos’sWolf: Creatures, Confusion, and Cloaks Contest! Since all you lovely people have decided that Eternal is pretty good and you wanted to show some awesome love to the story, I’d like to return it! Here’s how it’s going to break down….

Topic:
What is a good story without some creatures, lots of confusion, and a warm cloak or two? That’s right: the three random items have to do with this! It can be about anything you want but must include the required three items at some point in the story! (See below)

Rules:
-It’s pretty simple! I’ve decided that these three random things may take a little longer than a single chapter to figure out, so we’re turning it from a one shot contest to a multi-chapter possibility! Your entry may be however long you deem necessary to get your point across.

-Your entry must be written in the POV of either a Vampire or a Witcher. It’s your choice for which side you want to write from. You must write in first person, not from third person POV.

-The story MUST also include these three things: A very confused old man (age not specified, but about 60+ years), a night hound, and a maroon colored cloak.

-If you copy work or cheat in anyway, I will disqualify you! Please respect other people with this, guys. I don’t expect any problems because you guys are all extremely wonderful people, but I need to put a caution up anyways.

-The items specified must appear in the story as main points. They can’t briefly show up, but must actually play a role somehow in the story. (See sample entry!)

Due Date:

All entries (Multi-chapter or not) must be turned in by Friday, October 31st. I’ll be starting to read them immediately and should have the winners up by first few days in November.

Helpful Hints (because I want to see you guys succeed at this prompt!)

Sample Entry:
YOU MAY NOT USE THIS AS YOUR OWN PLOT LINE!

Example Entry: Written in the POV of Becca, a female Witcher, she discovers a confused old man wandering around in the woods in the company of a three legged night hound. The man is searching for a maroon colored cloak, the sign that he’s a vampire. Becca eventually figures out that this man is an ancient immortal and his night hound companion, Wy’At’As, are trying to get back to the castle. Becca must decide to help this man or to kill him, as she is ordered to do.

This is a good example entry because it is in the POV of a Witcher and uses all three subjects given. The plot doesn’t need to be overly complicated, just able to meet all of the requirement!

Helpful Hints:

Do you want to name your night hound? A night hound name is composed of three parts, each ONLY two letters long. You can have your hound named whatever, or not named at all, but if you want to make it similar to Eternal, try these hints. (Ex: At’Wy’Is; Li’Il’Yu, Wy’In’Ti)

What genre does it have to be!?!? No worries! It can be anything! Tragedy, comedy, romance, teen, ANYTHING!!! I’d love to read a variety of stories, not all just one category. As long as it’s one-of-a-kind and peaks my interest, it works. (Hint hint, wink wink….Humor greatly appreciated, but not required to win!)

Wait, I’m not good at humor! No worries! Just because I said I like to laugh doesn’t mean that ONLY humor stories are going to win. Just try your best, that’s all I want.

I can’t figure out what to write about! To be fair to everyone, I won’t give any hints, but I will tell you that maybe you could talk to other authors on what to write about…. ;)

I just finished my one shot/story. What should I do? Message me, send me the link, and make sure you tag it under Creatures, Confusion, and Cloaks Contest! I can only read what you message me/what’s tagged! If I can’t find it, I won’t read it!

Now for the fun stuff!!!

Prizes (Because I know you all love a good prize!):

At first I wanted it to be a first place only contest, but I’ve decided to expand it. It’ll be a 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place ranked competition. The physical prizes will all be created by me. Am I a professional, I-make-top-dollar-and-am-in-art-galleries artist? No! But I do make these with love and care and will do the best to tailor them and make sure you’ll love each piece. I promise they won’t be cheesy finger paint canvas pictures. Plus…I’ll include a nice little handwritten note from me with each one personally thanking you for entering and adding my own additional comments.

Third Place: A small square 12" by 12" custom painting of your favorite band's logo or name. (Ex: The ampersand for OM&M, the letters MIW, or the sempiternal logo for BMTH.)

Second Place: A 16" by 20" (or slightly smaller depending on the stock of the art store I buy from and shipping costs, but it won't be smaller by much, only a couple of inches!) custom painting of LYRICS for your favorite song by your favorite artist. (Example: "Faithfulness at it's Finest" by OM&M, "Give Me Therapy" by ATL.) For the lyrics, it can't be too long since I only have so much area to work with!

First Place: A custom 16" by 20" painting (I can guarantee it to be this size, even if it takes me an extra few days to order it from the store.) of your favorite LYRICS to any song by your favorite band. ANNNNNDDDDDDD.....your chance to be a very important character in the sequel to "Eternal"!!! You'll get to design the character how you want it to look, act, but it will play an important role in the sequel!

Extra Notes:

I won’t be giving anyone hints on what they should write about because this contest is all about YOU and what YOU can come up with! I’m looking for creativity, not copying someone else’s work or my own. If you copy my work directly, you’ll be disqualified immediately! I don’t mind you using characters that I’ve already created (Ex: Blue, Grey-Girl, Lily, Etc…) as long as you respect and don’t take complete claim for them. If you credit me, that’s fine, as long as you respect my work or others, I’m chill with anything :)

The more creative you are, the better! I love to see you use everything in a unique way. The more you can make me say, “Wow! I never thought about it like that!”, the better! This is all about using your imagination and your own thoughts to create something that’s individualistic.
