Kissing In Cars

Your secrets out

Victor’s P.O.V.

Kellin and I were in the cafeteria getting lunch now. He’s a pretty cool guy, not to mention he’s pretty cute too. I find him interesting; I just kind of want to keep learning about him. He’s like a book to me. I started reading it and now I don’t want to put it down. I decided to leave what happened in the cabin alone, not wanting to pressure him into talking about anything he didn’t feel comfortable doing so. We had our lunch, now walking to one of the tables.

“Wanna play 21 questions?” I asked, swallowing my food.

“Uh..sure.” Kellin replied. There’s another thing. He’s so shy. I love it.

“Okay, I’ll go first.” I thought for a second. What should I ask this blue eyed boy? “What’s your favorite smell?”

“That’s a weird question.” Kellin chuckled. “Um…rain, I guess?”

“Same. Your turn.” I spoke, biting into my sandwich.

“What’s the most embarrassing song you know all the words to?” Kellin asked, with a smirk. Oh god. This is gonna suck.

“Barbie girl…” I mumbled.

“What was that?”

“Barbie girl.” I spoke again. Kellin put his food down and broke out laughing.

“You’re kidding?!” He laughed again. I smiled at him. His laugh sure is nice…

“Alright, calm down. It’s a good song!” I laughed back. Kellin’s smile wasn’t quite gone yet. He nodded supping on his soda. “If you were a candy, what would you be?”

“Probably wouldn’t be a candy. People like candy, no one likes me.” Kellin laughed bitterly.

“I like you.” I spoke. Kellin just looked at me, his cheeks turned a little pink. I love seeing him blush, it’s so damn cute. “I think you’d be skittles. You’re sweet and I just can’t get enough of you.”

“Um…b-boys or girls?” Kellin asked.

“In what way?” I asked back.

“Any way…”

“I don’t really care. People are people.” I shrugged.

“How about like…nevermind.” Kellin said shyly.

“No, tell me.” I insisted.

“I don’t think I should…”

“Come on, blue eyes. You know you wanna…” I tried convincing him.

“F-fine, how about attraction…boys or girls?” Kellin asked. His cheeks were deep red.

“Like I said; I don’t really care. Girls are hot, guys are hot.” I laughed. He seemed to be smiling for a moment but quickly got rid of it.

“Are you a virgin?” I suddenly asked, taking my turn. Kellin almost choked on his food at my question.

“I um…w-well…yea…” Kellin answered. He looked so embarrassed by it. He quickly changed the subject. “Who was the first person you dated?”

“Justin Hills. Only person I’ve dated.” I admitted.

“Seriously?...d-did you love him?” Kellin asked. I answered even though he was asking a second question.

“Yea…he’s a great a guy. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you?”

“…can I pass on that?” Kellin asked, putting his food down.

“Nu-uh. You have to answer.”

“…I um…on the last day of school this guy Andy took my notebook and he…he saw the drawings inside and passed it around class, and everyone laughed…”

“That doesn’t sound too bad.”

“But it was. My notebook has some really personal things…”

“Can I know what drawing was so funny?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“N-no…you can’t.” Kellin quickly replied. I nodded my head still really curious to know what it even was. “Can we go back to the cabin? I’m kind of tired…” Kellin spoke. I nodded and we threw our stuff away. We still had about an hour till the next activity. I still haven’t seen Mike anywhere; I wonder who his roommate is.

“I’m gonna take a nap…” Kellin spoke as we walked into the cabin. I nodded and sprawled out on my bed. Kellin was quick to shut his eyes and after just eight minutes, I could hear him snore quietly. I know I shouldn’t do this, but the curiosity is getting the best of me…

I stood up slowly and carefully trying not to make noise, walking over to Kellin’s bed. I saw his notebook, there right under his pillow. Luckily for me his head was only on the other side of it. I cautiously took it out from under the pillow and took it back over to my bed. I took a deep breath. I felt like I was committing a crim. The cover read: Property of Kellin Quinn.

I opened the cover. On the first page was a drawing of a tree. It was so realistic; it almost looked like a real photograph. Kellin really is talented. I flipped to the next page and saw a drawing of a faceless man. There were people holding him up like he was royalty. None of them had faces either. Then off in the little corner away from every faceless person, was the only man with somewhat a face. It was simple, the man had two blue eyes, yet he had no mouth or nose. This drawing actually intrigued me.

I went to the next page and saw the same blue eyed man with no nose or mouth, sitting at a table alone. There were people in the room all surrounding him. No faces on them again. As I went by, the next twelve pages or so held the same blue eyed man and a crown of faceless people, all in a different scenario everytime. Then once I turned the page, I saw something different. At the top of the page was written, “Just notice me.” There was a drawing of what looked like Kellin, himself. It was another realistic, photographed looking drawing. It was just him with his face down.

I flipped the page and my heart stopped. It was a drawing of me. It wasn’t until I looked at the whole page that I noticed Kellin drawn beside me. He knew about me before? Why didn’t he tell me? I flipped through the next page and the next page and the next page. Every page was me. Me, me, me. Some were at school; some didn’t even have a scene. I looked up from the notebook, Kellin was still asleep. I flipped through the next page. It was another realistic drawing. It was amazing. Every strand of hair, every wrinkle, every detail was perfectly drawn on Kellin. I didn’t realize the drawing held two people until I looked at his lips. They were attached to mine…I felt my heart beat out of my chest, my stomach started doing all sorts of weird things. Is this even real?

Kellin…likes me?

I couldn’t look away from the drawing. It’s beautiful…I carefully and quietly tore the page out of the notebook and folded it up, stuffing it in my pocket. I shut the notebook and placed it back under Kellin’s pillow. I laid back on my bed and just sort of stared at Kellin. I can’t believe he likes me. Should I say anything? No, he’ll get mad at me. I just hope he doesn’t notice the missing page…there’s tons of drawings in there, I doubt he’ll notice the one I took.
