200 Reasons To Live
#30 Midnight Picnics
"I'm taking you to a fun place, it's really fun at night too." Oli yawned. We were really jet lagged and my internal clock was off. Needless to say it was 5 p.m. here and I just woke up.
"Oli when will I get used to this?" I asked.
"Well it normally takes a few days, but we'll do a lot of fun night things until we adjust." I opened my mouth to argue back about how we wouldn't get used to it as quickly, but stopped myself. He's the host, and he's taking me in.
"Okay. What should I wear?" I asked.
"Something warm. We'll leave in two hours, okay?" He smiled.
"Okie dokie." I gave him a toothy grin.
"Woah this place is neat." I gasped. The park we were at, was erie and there was a slight breeze. It's was so pretty.
"I knew you'd like it." He grabbed the picnic basket. I chose a spot to sit, not to far from the car. I didn't want Oli to have to walk to far. He handed me the picnic blanket and I laid it out. He plopped down on it with the basket. I nicely sat down. Oli grabbed a portable speaker from the basket. He handed me his phone. "You chose." I scrolled through his albums, when I found the perfect one. Two-Faced Charade. I started humming along to the beginning part. As much as you can hum along to an orchestra.
"This is the last thing I expected for you to chose." Oli stated.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because it's so dark, and hardly anyone knows who they are." He explained.
"Yeah but I actually met them once. I saw them in concert. One of those guys was really nice and helped me sneak out one time so I could see them, because they were in the town I was in." I smiled, remembering meeting the band.
"Lawrence?"
"No somebody I met while trying to get business, or being forced to, anyways. I explained my situation to him, and he helped me." I explained.
"I wish I had found you earlier, and would've been able to save you from so much." He sighed.
"Sometimes I think the same thing, but you wouldn't have given me a second look." I shrugged.
"I doubt that." He rolled his eyes.
"Seriously I'm right and you know it." I sighed and laid on my back.
"Nonsense, I know when I see someone who is special, no matter if I know them or not." He shrugged and laid down on his back, like I had. " it's a special gift of mine."
