United We Purge

Carters' POV
Its 12 o'clock in the afternoon. I am boarding up my windows. I am locking up my valuables. I am keeping all of my pictures tucked away in a flame proof safe. Why? You all should know. Its March 22th. Tonight will be the beginning of the annual purge. I used to fear the Purge. To cower at its mention. But last year everything changed. I always spent the purge with my brother and his band. And last year was like any other. Screams, death, carnage. But when we called our parents the next morning no one picked up. They we're slaughtered. For Jaime it made him more fearful. For me it made me angry. Very angry. And tonight i will Purge. I have some people i will be with. Five boys. Andy, Ashley, CC, Jinxx, and Jake. They have been Purging for years. They have all lost loved ones. Ashley lost his parents, like me. Jake and Jinxx lost cousins. CC lost his brother. Andy lost his sister. I care about these boys and if one of them dies i will be hurt. But still i participate. And i know that i will be breaking someone else's life by doing so. I lock my things away very wee because I'm not gonna be here tonight and i do not have time to deal with having my things taken. I send Andy a quick text as to where we will meet. I laze around and at 6 o'clock i get into my outfit. As for the jewelry it isn't random. Each piece was given to me by Jaime, Tony, Vic, or Mikey. I zip my jacket and get on my motorcycle to meet the guys. Once I'm there i sent Jaime a text.
Jaime. Im sorry. I know you don't want this. I know you want me to be safe in your house, protected by you and the guys. But I've waited all year. And now i will Purge. Im sorry Jaime. I love you. And the guys. And i promise i am not alone. And please don took for me. Its dangerous. And you don't have weapons. I will see you in about 15 hours... Much love, Carter
I sendthe text. Now i walk into the abandoned building and I'm met with five masked figures. I can tell who they are by the hair and their hight. They pull off the masks and i pull off mine.
"Okay,"Andy speaks. "I will tell you this one time and one time only. We have a specific way we Purge. We do not kill innocents, but we do not save them. If we see someone we know and they recognize us them we kill them it doesn't matter who they are. We only kill other Purgers. We protect each other. If we get separated then we continue on our own. And once the Purge begins, there is no escape." We all nod. Im not afraid. I have already embraced that i will probably die tonight. I get a text and look down. its form the guys.
Tony: Carter come over here now. Please.
Mikey: You don't have to do this. Jaime told us everything. Please come back. We need you Carter.
Jaime: Carter you can't leave me like this. Ive already lost mom and dad. I can't loose you. I promised myself that i would keep you save. It isn't save out there.
I wasn't fazed by any of those, but Vics' broke my heart.
Vic: Please come back. I can't loose you. You are the first girl I've ever really loved and i can't let you die. Please.
I know he loves me. And i hurts to do this to him. But i have to. If i don't then i'll go mad. Its almost 8 o'clock. Me and the guys go into the storage and get the weapons. Guns, ammunition, knives. And then we hear it...
This is your emergency broadcast system, announcing the commencement of The Annual Purge. At the siren, all crime including murder will be legal for twelve hours. All emergency services will be suspended. Your government thanks you for your participation.
We run into the streets and get on our motorcycles. Andy leads. Masks are on. And then we hear the sirens.
