*Louis POV*

I woke up from a very realistic nightmare. Frightened and still on edge, I got up and went to peak out of a tiny hole of the boarded up windows. Today should be a great day to leave but we don't know where its safe, there was no way to tell. The world was crumbling around us, the scientists were right I guess. We destroyed planet earth. The apocalyptic world was a great place to live if you think about. The people you hated were dead or in my case turned Zeeks like in the movie World War Z. Yet again the people you love are just gone. It saddens me most of the time but maybe it was for the best, we all die anyways, so why try and put it off. But I don't want to go into dark yet. I still have my best friend, Ashleigh, and her boyfriend, Hunter.

Knock knock. "Hey Louis you up yet? We need to talk." Ashleigh asked through the door.

"Yes i'm up. Come in." I yawned and unlocked my old white door. She came in and sat on my bed.

"So umm...today seems like a great day to leave this godforsaken place." She whispered.

"Yeah it does. I was just thinking the same thing...but where will be leaving to?" I asked as I pulled out an outfit.

"Russia."

I froze. "But...thats...where the disease started." I managed to stammer out.

"No it's where it was discovered. The Russians have it under control now, besides Russia has the lowest people to land ratio..." She mumbled the last part.

"Alright then. If we are gonna go by my way. No wasting ammo on a few zeeks. If theres more than ten zeeks we can shoot. Deal?" I asked.

"Deal." Ash got up and left. I quickly changed into my out fit which was a came-flannel and black Pierce The Veil muscle shirt with my black leggings. I tied my pink combat boots and brushed my rats nest of hair.

"I miss you Straightener." I stared at my hair supplies and just wished the world could have kept the electricity going. I went to my two bags that held survival things in it and checked it three times. "Food, water, clothes, extra gun, hunter knife, and tampons." I said aloud. I slung the bag with food and just a little bit of medical supplies over my shoulder and carried the other bag in my left hand.

I went down the hall to Ashleigh's room and knocked on the door.

"Hold On."Ash yelled. I groaned and went to the kitchen to get my gun belt. Ashleigh soon came out with her boyfriend hot on her tail. I smirked and rolled my eyes.

"Shut up." Ash said blushing.

I walked to the living room and peeked through the hole. "Alright. Remember quietness and only kill the ones that come after us." I looked at them and they nodded.

I quickly and quietly as possible opened the door and one came running at me. I took hold of my knife and it went right through the head. We stepped over the twitching body and walked to my red Jeep. Ashleigh started the car and drove off with me standing on the seat in the back. It was hot as hell and all of a sudden we heard a loud boom.

"Keep driving!" I told Ashleigh who stopped the car to see what the noise was. I looked behind to see what happened and sure enough our apartment building go up in flames. "My curlier, straightener, hairbrush and makeup. FUCK YOU GOD!" Ash laughed and so did Hunter. "Piss off.Those were my babies."

"So umm Hotel?"Ash asked. I nodded yes and we turned into a back road to a Motel Six. We snuck through the back and had to kill five Zeeks.

"Damn." Ash whispered. I smiled and we went to the top floors. This time more than ten Zeeks. Ash gave me a pleading look wanting Hunter to just shoot them.

I whispered, "Lemme take out the close ones.Stay here."

"Ashleigh, come on. Let's pick a room." I smiled and she picked the one with the balcony.

"Always.So I saw a Seven Eleven. I'm going to go check it out. You two stay here and check the hotel for anything. If I don't come back by nightfall go on without me."

"No. No. We are not leaving without you. Also you cannot go out there by yourself." Ash tried pleading with me, but it was no use. I shook my head no.

"Ashleigh, I am going and thats final." I got up and made my journey to the gas station. There weren't any Zeeks but I hope they're gone.
