The Forgotten Fuentes

Mike's POV~

Sometime during Alli's explanation, Lilly had seen a truck pull up. She pointed it out to me, and whispered, "That's...Maxx's truck..."

She curled into me, and I tried to hide her behind me. I knew I had to protect her. He had done terrible things to this beautiful girl, and he was about to do more. I will not let him hurt her anymore. After Alli finished her explanation, she curled into Vic, as Lilly had done to me. I saw a scrawny man, about Vic's age, approach us. I assumed that was Maxx, because Lilly screamed when he spoke.

"Oh, Lilly. I see you've disobeyed me, now-" I ignored whatever else he said. He was NOT going to hurt Lilly. After Lilly screamed again, I stepped in front of her, and Maxx smirked.

"Oh, so your little boyfriend here thinks he's tough, with all his tattoos and his lip piercing. I see, I'm just gonna have to take him do-" I jumped on him before he could finish his little rant. I tackled him to the ground and he took a swing at me. I felt his fist connect with my jaw, but I ignored the pain. I was furious with Maxx for what he did to Lilly. I got in three good hits before someone pulled me off of him. As I was pulled away, I continued to curse him for what he did.

"YOU FUCKING DESERVED THAT! YOU DESERVED EVERY GOD DAMN BIT OF THE PAIN I CAUSED YOU! YOU HAD NO FUCKING RIGHT TO DO ANY OF THAT ABUSIVE SHIT TO THAT BEAUTIFUL, INNOCENT GIRL OVER THERE! YOU'RE A SICK BASTARD, AND I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL! LILLY IS A WOMAN, NOT SOMETHING YOU OWN, AND YOU CERTAINLY CAN'T DO AS YOU PLEASE WITH HER, LIKE SHE IS JUST A TOY! SHE'S A HUMAN BEING! IF YOU EVER LAY ANOTHER FUCKING HAND ON THAT GORGEOUS YOUNG WOMAN OVER THERE, SO HELP ME IT WILL BE THE LAST THING YOU EVER DO!" I screamed. Whoever was dragging my kicking, screaming self away, stopped after the words flew from my mouth. It seems that a large group of people had gathered around to watch, and after I finished my speech, everyone's mouths dropped.

It turns out that the person dragging me away, was one of the jocks. He was a childhood friend of Maxx's. He dropped me, and whispered, "He...he actually did it.." then took off for the school building. I stood up, brushing myself off, and walked over to Lilly. She looked at me, eyes wide, and ran and hid behind Vic and Alli. "Lilly, please, I didn't mean to scare you!" I said, afraid that I'd frightened her. She slowly walked out from behind the older siblings, and cautiously stepped towards me.

"You...is...is he dead?" she asked, quietly. "No, he's just unconscious. If he hurts you again, he will be dead, though," I said, calmly. She looked up at me, and moved towards me again. "You really care, don't you? You won't hurt me like Maxx did....right?" she asked. I was upset that she thought I'd hurt her too, but I understood. She'd just watched me beat the shit out of an older man. I walked towards her and wrapped my arms around her softly. "No, Lillian, I will never ever do anything to hurt you. I promise," I whispered. "It's over now...I'm not his anymore," she cried quietly into my chest. "That's right beautiful, you're free," I whispered back, lightly kissing the top of her head. I'll protect you. I love you.

Soo, Mike's pretty protective, huh? What do you think is gonna happen between him and Lilly? Does Lilly really love him too, or is this a one-sided feeling?
