The Forgotten Fuentes

"Boy." "Girl." "Both."

*the next morning*
Alli's POV~

"AHH! WHAT THE FUCK MIKE?!"

This is what I woke up to the day after my wedding. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, then turned to look at my husband who was still sound asleep. I laughed to myself and rolled-literally rolled- out of bed to go to the bathroom. I was much bigger and showing much more than I should have been since I was only about 15 weeks. Vic told me not to worry, and that we'd just ask the doctor at my next appointment, which happened to be today. I was supposed to find out the sex of my baby today!

I heard giggling and a crash from the kitchen. It's a wonder Lilly and Mike haven't woken the whole house yet with all their crashing and banging and laughing. I walked out of the bathroom after taking care of things and brushing my hair out. I put on a pair of sweatpants and a floral shirt, then looked over at the bed. Vic was still asleep so I decided to go to the kitchen and get some coffee and hush the siblings.

When I waddled my way into the kitchen, I saw a sleepy Tony sitting at the table. I laughed a bit before greeting him. "Morning Tone," I greeted and he smiled slightly. "Morning Mrs. Fuentes," he replied.

I walked over to the little siblings who were kissing by the stove. "Ahem, Lillian. I don't think you want to end up like this, so you should probably slow down there," I said, motioning towards my belly and startling them away from each other. "Oh whatever! We use protection," Mike chuckled, causing Lilly to slap him. I scrunched up my nose. "Ewww," I said sticking my tongue out at them. Lilly rolled her eyes and I walked back across the kitchen to the coffee machine.

As I was pouring my coffee I felt two arms snake around my waist and up over my belly.

"Today's the day we find out if there's gonna be a little Vic or a little Alli running around here," Vic said, and I felt him smile into my hair. "Yep, and my bet is on a little Alli!" Mike said excitedly from the other side of the room. Lilly agreed, but I shook my head. "I'm betting on a little curly-haired Mexican boy," I laughed and Vic shook his head. "Nope, I'm gonna have a daughter!" he replied.

"I gotta agree with Alli on this one, there's definitely a little Vic in there!" Jaime said, walking into the room and over to us. He poked my belly and inspected it carefully. "Yep, it's gotta be a boy!" Jaime said, nodding in finality. Tony walked up behind him and smiled down at the three of us. "And what's your bet, Mr. Turtle?" I asked. He looked away in thought for a moment, then at my belly, then at me.

"Both," he said finally. "Both?" I asked, and he nodded. "I'm betting on twins."

"Well, we'll find out soon enough. The appointment's in an hour," Vic said.With that, I walked back to our bedroom and sat down at the vanity I'd retrieved from my old bedroom at my grandma's house. I applied some foundation and blush, then quickly did my eye makeup. I straightened my hair a bit, then I was ready to go.

I walked out to the living room, where Vic was waiting with the keys. When he saw me, he smiled. "There's my beautiful wife," he said, then placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. He took my hand and we walked out to my car. "You feel like you can drive today, babe?" I asked him, and he looked nervous at first, but then he nodded and got into the driver's seat. I climbed in the other side and buckled my seat belt. He looked at me and smiled, and I took his hand.

*ten minutes later, Vic's POV*

We walked into the waiting room, where I signed us in with the doctor, then sat down. I sat in thought, while Alli flipped through a baby magazine of some sort, until about five minutes later when the nurse called us in.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fuentes?" the nurse called out, and I took Alli's hand again. We followed the nurse into a small room with a cot and a couple of machines. "Dr. Lee will be with you momentarily," the smiling nurse said after seating Alli on the cot and checking her blood pressure and weight.

A few moments later, Dr. Lee came into the room. "Hello again, Ariella. Do you have any questions before we begin?" she asked, smiling. Alli nodded.

"One question, actually. I have researched the expected weight and size of an average 15-week baby bump, and I've noticed I'm a bit bigger than normal. Why?" she asked, and Dr. Lee smiled at her. "I'm sure we'll find out. Now please, lay back on the cot and relax," she said, still smiling.

Alli did as she said and laid back on the cot, while the doctor started the machine. She ran the machine over Alli's bump and smiled again. I had no idea what to make of what I saw, since it was the first time I'd seen a sonogram, but Alli gasped and smiled. I'm so confused!
