The Forgotten Fuentes

I've Been Saving Myself For You

*12 days later, Alli's POV*

Vic has been hiding something, and I'm starting to get worried. Today he gave me some money and sent me shopping with Lilly and Mike, who apparently already know what Vic's been hiding, since they were both conveniently off work today and tomorrow, and had gotten me off work as well. He stayed at home while I went out, which worried me even more. I tried to question Lilly about it, but she just told me not to worry, and that I'd understand soon enough.

We went to many stores, until I finally picked out (with Lilly's help) a short, tight fitting black dress and some simple black flats, since I refused to wear heels. When we got home, Vic wasn't there. That worried me further.

Vic didn't come home until nearly midnight that night, and he went straight to bed as soon as he got home. I crawled under the sheets and curled up next to him. "Oh Vic, what have you been hiding from me, love?" I whispered, knowing he was asleep. I sighed and kissed his nose softly, then curled up again and fell asleep to the sound of his heart beat.

*5:30 the next evening, still Alli's POV*

Vic told me to dress nicely, that Mike, Lilly, he, I, and two new-ish friends from Mike's grade would be going to a fancy dinner at six tonight. I asked what the occasion was, but he just kissed me and told me that I'd find out soon enough.

As of currently, Lilly is applying what must be the third layer of makeup to my face. After what seems like a thousand years, plus two burns on my neck from her straightener, she steps back. "Aww you look so gorgeous!" Lilly said, obviously proud with the job she'd done. I turned around and looked at myself in the mirror, and she was right. I was practically glowing! "Oh my God Lilly, thank you!" I said, smiling widely. "Yeah, yeah. Now let's get you in that dress!" she exclaimed. I laughed as I went and retrieved my black dress from the small closet. I stripped out of my casual clothes and slid into the small dress. I stepped into the flats that I bought yesterday, and walked down the stairs. The dress was really tight, and I was a bit uncomfortable, but at least I looked nice.

When Vic saw me, his eyes practically bugged out of his head. "Oh my God, Ariella....you look amazing!" he exclaimed. "You look quite handsome yourself, Mr. Fuentes," I replied, noticing that he was wearing a neat, pressed tuxedo. He chuckled and reached for my hand. "Shall we?" he asked. I nodded, and we made our way to the limo. Yes, limo.

We arrived at the dining hall that our senior prom was held in. The senior prom that Vic and I couldn't attend, because I got the flu. Suddenly, something clicked. He took me by the hand and escorted me into the building. It was completely empty besides where three tables with a single candle in the middle of each. One of the violinists from the school's orchestra was playing some cheesy romantic music. Vic walked me to the middle table, and pulled out my chair for me. I smiled and sat down, and he followed suit across from me.

Lilly and Mike arrived a few moments later, followed by Mike's friends, whose names I learned were Tony and Jaime. Vic explained that he was in a band with both of them and Mike, and that's why he was gone so often. Apparently, they had recorded and sent in an album to a local recording company, and had found out this morning that they had been signed. I congratulated him with a short kiss.

We had just finished the main course, and desert was on it's way when Vic stood up, tapping his glass. "Attention! This lovely evening does indeed have a point, and I would like to share it with you now," he said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up, then took something out of his pocket and bent down on one knee. He held out a small black box in front of him and opened it, revealing a gorgeous diamond ring. My hands flew up to my mouth and I gasped in surprise.

"Ariella Boyde, I want to begin by saying I love you. I have loved you since I first laid eyes on you. You may not see it, but to me you are the most gorgeous woman in this world.I have been in love with you for nearly a year now, and I would love nothing more than to make you my gorgeous wife, and eventually a wonderful mother to my children. Ariella, will you make me the husband to the most gorgeous woman in the world? Will you marry me?" he said, tearing up towards the end.

I couldn't believe I ever doubted him. "Of course I will! Oh my God Vic, I love you!" I exclaimed, and he slipped the beautiful ring onto my finger. Everyone applauded as we kissed. When we pulled apart, he whispered something in my ear.

"I know that desert is here, but I've heard it's sweeter at home. Ariella, I've been saving myself for you."
