The Forgotten Fuentes

A Night We Won't Forget- part 2

Alli's POV~

I woke up to the sound of Vic screaming. I sat straight up in his bed, and looked over at him. He wash thrashing and failing about in the bed. I put my hands on his shoulders and lightly shook him. "Vic, Vic! Wake up!" I said, trying to calm him a little. When that didn't work, I wrapped my arms around him and held him still, shushing him. "Vic, Viiiiiccc, wake up," I cooed, and finally he stopped flailing and screaming. His eyes fluttered open and he looked at me with tear-filled eyes.

"Alli, I'm so sorry....I had a dream about my family....they just-" he tried to explain through short breaths, but I cut him off with my lips. He seemed to calm down instantly. I knew what I'd done earlier that night, I remembered every bit of it. I hadn't had any of that whiskey, I poured it out. It was a test, and Vic passed, but that was something to tell him later.

He hesitated a minute, then finally kissed back. When we broke apart, he looked at me wide-eyed. "A-Alli, are you still drunk?" he stuttered, I laughed and shook my head. I guess now was the time to tell him. "I never was, Victor. It was a test, a trust test. You passed, in case you were wondering," I laughed. His expression turned serious. "You....you still didn't trust me?!" he asked, hurt evident in his tired eyes. I put my hand on his and looked at him. "Vic, I told you, I have trust issues because of Maxx, but that was the last test, now I know I can trust you," I said, trying to keep him from getting mad. He looked like he was about to scream, so I closed my eyes and flinched back, preparing for it.

He said nothing, so I opened my eyes. He was just sitting there =, staring at me with his mouth half-open. "I'm not...mad," he said, looking away. "I'm sorry," I pleaded, "I didn't mean to.." I trialed off, no longer sure what I was apologizing for. I looked down at the bed, feeling tears build up behind my eyes.

We sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity. Vic broke the silence.

"I love you Ariella, even if I have to wait years for you to love me back, don't you ever think that I won't ," he whispered, barely loud enough for me to hear.

"I love you too, Victor. You don't have to wait. I love you," I said only slightly louder than him. He leaned in and placed a soft kiss on my lips. As time passed, our kiss got more and more passionate, and I found my tongue begging for entrance to his mouth, which he gladly granted. I had never felt this way before, but I felt like I needed to explore him, I needed to know every inch of his gorgeous body. I knew it was wrong, and that I hadn't even known him a full 24 hours, but I felt like I'd known him a lifetime. I pushed him back on the bed, but he stopped me.

"Alli, we haven't even known each other for a hole day yet. I know you feel how I do now, and I know we both want to act on that, but we need to see if this feeling stays. We need to know if this is real before we go any further. But until then, I'll be saving myself for you," he said quietly. I smiled, and nodded in agreement. I rolled off of him, and curled up into his side.

Suddenly, he sat up. He rolled out of the bed, grabbing something from his nightstand. "Come with me," he said, taking my hand and pulling me out of the bed. "Where are we going?" I asked tiredly. He just smiled and continued to pull me along.

Finally, we stopped walking and he clicked on the flashlight, which was obviously what he'd grabbed from the nightstand. After my eyes had adjusted to the low light, I saw that we were standing by the huge oak outside his house. "What are we doing here?" I asked, a little more alert now. He got down on his knee and held out what I soon realized was a ring pop. "Ariella, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked, using his perfect Spanish accent. I rolled my eyes. "Of course, but why did you bring me out here for this?" I asked, slightly annoyed that he'd gotten me out of bed and brought me out into the cool autumn night. "Because," he began,"I found the other half of my heart."

I was very confused at first, but not for long. He shone the yellow light on the tree, and revealed half a heart carved into it. The half-heart contained his name and a small plus sign. He handed me a pocket knife, and whispered the words, "Please, complete my heart." I smiled and did as he said, carving the other half of the heart and my name into the tree. He took the knife and carved the date under our heart.

Two became one that night, and I will never forget it.
