Do you still love me? I am dying to know....

"She's gone, and she's ours"

Jaime's POV~

I woke up next to Vic again. I'm so glad that he's mine. I kissed his nose, and his eyes fluttered open. He smiled when he saw me. I leaned in and kissed his lips softly, but he didn't release mine for a while. We stayed in the bunk and kissed for a few minutes, until we heard someone clear their throat behind us.

"Hey dad, and dad, can you guys not do that?" Savannah laughed. I rolled over and looked at her. "But Savvy..." Vic whined at her, and she rolled her eyes. I sat up, and Vic helped me get my crutches. They squeaked loudly, causing Mike to roll out of bed and say, "Ugh jeez Hime, being a cripple is too loud for the people around him. Go squeak in some other room." I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at him, making my way to the front of the bus. I sat down at the small table, and Savannah brought me some coffee.

Vic and Savannah sat down at the table with me, and we chatted a bit. We were soon joined by Tony, who said Mike was probably going to sleep till noon after the night they had last night, then he winked, making all of us groan. "I'm hungry," Savannah declared. We all nodded in agreement and it was decided that since Savannah knew the town, she and Tony would go get iHop.

They returned in about thirty minutes with various types of pancakes. We were leaving today, which meant we had to go get Savannah's stuff from her house today. After breakfast, I told her to go wake up Mike and Bri, the only two still sleeping, and tell them that we were going to get her stuff.

Bri and Mike finally got out of bed, and we all jammed ourselves into the rental. "My dad isn't home right now, so we should be good," Savannah said, looking at us in the rear view mirror. She took us to her house and we helped her collect all of her necessities; clothes, shoes, hair stuff, and she got all of her "lady stuff" since I and the other boys refused to touch it. We put it all in the car, and just as we were about to leave, her dad pulled up. He jumped out of the car and ran over to our window and banged on it. Vic rolled down the window, and Savannah had her phone out, already preparing to call the police.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? WHERE ARE YOU GOING WITH MY DAUGHTER?! I OWN THAT BITCH, SHE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE!" he screamed. I opened my mouth to reply, but Vic beat me to it. He climbed out of the car and stood next to me. "Sir, with no respect intended, she is no longer your daughter. Jaime here, and I have adopted her due to what you've done to her," he said, calmly.

" OH HELL NO! MY DAUGHTER IS NOT BEING ADOPTED! ESPECIALLY NOT BY TWO GAYS! ALL GAYS GO TO HELL AND THIS BITCH ISN'T GOING DOWN WITH YOU! SHE DESERVES WORSE THAN HELL AND I'LL MAKE SURE SHE GETS THERE!" he shouts, pulling out a gun and pointing it towards Savannah, who was now on the phone outside the car. My eyes widened as he pulled the trigger, and Bri tackled Savannah, taking the bullet instead. I screamed and moved over to Brianna's side, and Mike tackled the man with the gun. Savannah was still on the phone with the police, but she was crying too hard to speak. I took the phone and gave the police the details of where we are, and we heard sirens in the distance.

In a matter of minutes, an ambulance and two police cars arrived. The paramedics put Brianna's unmoving body in the ambulance and sped off. I held Savannah and she sobbed into my chest, as we stood and watched the police talk to Vic, and put her dad in the back of their cruiser. After a few more questions, they left us to take Savannah. We all climbed back into the car, and Savannah took off for the hospital. We got there, and Tony, Mike, Savannah, and Ana ran in, while Vic and I went as fast as my leg would allow. When Vic and I finally made it up the stairs, Savannah was in Tony's arms, bawling, and Ana was sitting in a chair, staring blankly into space. Mike walked over to Vic and I, and told us what the doctor said.

"The doctor said that the way the bullet landed, they couldn't remove it, and she lost too much blood. She's....she's gone," he said quietly, with the same spaced-out expression that Ana wore. I was a mixture of emotions.

I was sad because she was gone, but I was also furious at the doctors and at Savannah's dad. I wanted to scream, and go back in time, and take that bullet for her. This was so unfair. She didn't deserve to die. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I let them flow. I sat down in one of the uncomfortable chairs, and cried my eyes out. Mike sat down by Tony, who was still holding Savannah, and Vic stood in front of me. He held my head, and I sobbed into his stomach. Why couldn't I have saved her? She was as much of a daughter to me as Savannah was, and Ana was the same. I would've died for her. Why wasn't it me?

*2 days later (tour was delayed again)*

Vic's POV~

Today was Brianna's funeral. I stood in the back with Jaime, Mike, and Tony. I don't think anyone besides Bri's parents was as upset as Savannah was. Bri's whole family blamed Savannah for what her dad did. They almost refused to let Savannah, and us, into the funeral. Mike and I were the only people who weren't crying. I didn't have tears left, and Mike was still in shock.

After the burial, I grabbed Jaime's hand, and we all left. Ana had elected to stay here in town, instead of going with us. We had already signed and sent in Savannah's adoption papers, and she was legally ours now. Today we had to get on the bus, and continue our tour. No one was in the mood to tour, but it was our job.

We all boarded the bus and got Savannah situated in her new bunk, then we left for the next venue. I felt like we were leaving a bad-luck town, and I was relieved, but Savannah was leaving her home. She loved Jaime, and she loved me, and she loved Mike and Tony, but she lived here. This is her childhood, and she's leaving it. But at least she is in better care now, and Jaime and I love her. She's ours now. She's our daughter.
