There's Hell Over Me

Scarlett's POV

I hurry out of the front exit and rush to the side of the road. I call for a taxi.
"Oh shit," I whisper to myself, "I'm already late." By the time the taxi turns up, I feel like I've pulled half of my hair out.
"Where to, young lady?" The taxi driver asks, in a thick Glaswegian accent.
"Oh just Sally's Cafe, down the street, please." I say quickly.
"Okay, get in." He says. I keep checking my phone on the journey. It's about a twenty minute long drive. I'm so anxious. I pay and get out quickly, before entering the cafe. The one thing I've told no- one about is sitting at a table on the far left. I've told them all about my phsycho ex, but not my current boyfriend. I sit down nervously, greeting the boy I thought I loved not long ago. You see, I'm British, both of our families moved here to start a business together and we fell in "love". This is not love. The boys have taught me what love is, Mike and Amelie have taught me what love is, and this is not it.

"Hi Sam." I smile.
"Hello Scarlett." He says menacingly. The waitress comes over and asks us what we want, I order a green tea because if I order anything else, he'll make jokes about how fat I am. He orders an Americano coffee and as the waitress turns to leave, he slaps her arse. She giggles as she walks off and I am repulsed.
"I'm just going to the toilet." I say quietly and get up and go. As I come back I notice he's not there anymore. Out of the corner of my eye, I see him through the circle of glass in the door that leads to the kitchen, he's snogging the face off of the blonde waitress. A few seconds pass and then he locks eye contact with me. I grab my purse and leave, a single tear streams down my face. As I'm walking down the road, a car beeps at me. I turn around and recognise it as Mike's car. I walk over to it and get in the passenger seat. Jaime and Tony are in the back and Mike's driving.

"We left the girls at the hospital in case we needed to beat anyone up. What's going on Scarlett?" Mike asks me, it feels as if he's looking into my soul.

"Can we just go to the hospital, I'll tell you there." I say, it's not a question, it's an order and Mike knows it.

"Wait." Tony interrupts, "Is it that phsycho ex you mentioned?"

"No." I say firmly. "Now drive, Mike."
