Chapter 1

Scarlett's POV

"Scarlett, why aren't you down here yet?!" My mum screams at me from downstairs as I apply the last lick of eyeliner.

"Coming mum." I yell as I bound down the stairs. Today is the last day of this. The last day of this hell, I will finally be free. But first I have to get to Warped. I shove my Vans on and open the door.

"Now look who's holding us up." I mutter as my mum checks her phone and gets the car keys and opens the car. "WARPED TOUR 2014 HERE WE COME!!!"

"Will you calm down a bit!" Comes the already-wishing-I-didn't-pay-for-this reply from my father.

I stumble through the crowd, carefully checking behind me, making sure that my parents aren't looking for me, I take my phone out of my bag and throw it to the floor. My parents can't track me now. I need to find somewhere to stay and somewhere to think.

As as I am checking behind me I walk straight into someone.

"AMELIE, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU NOT TELL ME YOU WERE COMING?!?!"

"I forgot." Says my socially-anxious, shy best friend.

"I'm running away, from my parents." I pause. "Are you here alone?"

"Yeah."

"Do you want to come with me?"

"Sure!" She smiles. I take her arm and continue walking- no - stumbling at the same pace as before. I reach a fence and hoist myself over it.

"Can you get up on your own, Ames?" She's not very strong so I have to help her. When we hit the ground, Amelie falls at a funny angle and I hear her screech in pain as she hits the floor. She tries to get up but I hurts so much and she falls, sobbing.
