Celebrate the Way the Night Hides Scars

~Vic's point of view~
I couldn't sleep so I decided to text Maxine.


me: hey
Maxie: hey Vic
me: how'd you know it was me?
Maxine: no one else texts me so I figured it was you

I felt kinda bad for Maxie.

me: oh... I texted cuz I can't sleep.
Maxie: neither can I
me: I'm lonely. I wish you were here.
Maxie: on the way walking to your house I'd probably jump in front of a car
me: dont say that. you're beautiful.
Maxie: if you say so...
me: where do you wanna go tomorrow?
Maxine: surprise me. I like long walks on the beach, skateboarding, and poking dead thongs with a stick.
me: okay, I'll see what I can do
Maxie: Vic?
me: yeah?
Maxie: I just wanted to say that you're really cool, and I really like you
me: I think you're cool too and I like you too



next day at 9:00
~Maxine's point of view~
I waited in the kitchen for Vic. He would text me so the doorbell wouldn't wake up my parents or my sister.
Vic texted me.
Vic: I'm here! :)
I walked over to the door and opened it.
"Hey," I said with a smile on.
"Ready?"
I nodded.
"Let's goo!"
We ran into his car and drove to a familiar place that I couldn't put my finger on. Once we pulled in I knew where we were. We were at the mall! Now I didn't like most stores at the mall. I liked Hot Topic, Vans, Journeys, and the restaurants. That's really it.
"So, where do you wanna go?"
"Hot Topic is always #1!"
"Okay then,"
We walked around in Hot Topic and I bought a few shirts a...nd 2 bracelets.
"Lemme pay," Vic said.
"What? No! I'm fine," I replied.
"No, I'm paying," Vic protested. "I insist!"
Vic payed and we walked out.
"I owe you now."
"No you don't," Vic said.
"Are you sure?"
"Totally,"
"Anywhere else you want to go?"
"Not really, my shoes are fine, I don't really need anything else."
"Then let's go eat something."
"People are going to think that we're a couple."
"So what?"
"Oh well. YOLO right?"
We laughed.

After we ate, we went to see a movie.
"Vic, is this really necessary?"
"Yes, because tonight, I'm gonna make you feel beautiful once again."
With that said, I laid my head on his shoulder. I felt calm and happy. Like a real happy.

The movie was fun, but I thought the fun was over. He drove me to the beach. It was sunset, so it was perfect.
"Vic. You don't have to do this."
"Yet I did," he answered.
We got out of the car and started walking on the shore and started walking. We had this long romantic walk until it was finally dark and we walked to this beach grill.
"I'm going to call up the guys so we can all eat together," Vic said as he dialed a number.
"K, I'm going to fix my hair," I said as I started walking.
"You're hair is fine," Vic said.
"I'm still going to go check it,"

Mike, Tony, and Jaime all arrived after about 5-7 minutes.
"Guys, this is Maxine," Vic introduced.
"You can call me Max or Maxie for short," I said.
"Nice to meet you," Jaime said.
"Pleasure," Tony said.
"Nice to meet to you," Mike said.
A waitress came to seat us.
"How many?" she asked.
"Just five," Vic said.
"Right this way,"
"Jaime has to go in the middle!" Vic said.
"I'll sit in between Tony and Mike," Jaime said.
So that left Vic and I sitting next to each other.
~menus are passed out, everyone decides what they're having, food arrives~
"So, how'd you guys meet?" Mike asked.
"The party," Vic said.
"Have you shown her the woods and the clearing?" Tony asked Vic.
"Yup,"
"It was really cool," I said.
We all finished dinner and Jaime, Mike, and Tony left for Vic's house. Vic and I climbed into his car and drove to his house, grabbed something and we walked to the secret clearing place thingy.
"Sorry we couldn't poke dead things with sticks," Vic apologized.
"Oh my god, don't apologize, I had the best day in my life!" I said.
"Really?"
"Yup!"
"Thanks,"
"You like stars?"
"Yup. I've been counting them ever since I net you,"
"Did you steal stars for me? Are they neon blue?"
"You're witty! I like that," Vic laughed.
"You're really sweet," I say to Vic.
"You're sweeter," Vic says back mocking my tone.
"I love the stars. I wish I could just be among them. For a day or something," I say. "Imagine living like a star for a day, a single night without my parents nagging at me!" I sang.
"Oh, I almost forgot. I brought something for you. Vic pulled out a tiny box from his pocket.
"Maxie, there's this necklace that was mom said to give to someone special. I want you to have it."
"Oh my god Vic, thank you!" I said as Vic put the necklace on me.
"Do you think you can sleepover? With nothing weird or anything?"
"Sure! I'll go get my stuff,"
"Okay, I'll be back at the house."
I ran through the forest as fast as I could and to my house. Once I opened the door, I ran upstairs and grabbed a band tee and some jeans and a new bra, etc. I grabbed my pjs, a pillow and a blanket stuffed them in a bag and ran out the door.
