"I don't do band members!"

There you go!

I am all exited for the tour to start, when I arrive at the first venue of the tour I check in at the front office to get my pass and the number of the bus I will be on. I find my bus and my bunk and throw my bags onto my bed not bothering to unpack at the moment.

I meet up with my colleagues Jeff and Max and learn that we will be staying on the same bus together, along with Shianne and Brian. We have all the most awesome job names, I am site manager, Jeff and Max are stage managers, Shianne is security coordinator and Brian is construction supervisor but in fact we all do pretty much the same job and help out each other where possible.

Jeff is from Scotland, Max and Shianne are American, Brian is British and I am Australian which promises to be a wild mix of nationalities. Then we all head out to our introductory meeting in the catering tent. On my way there I see so many familiar faces and greet and hug a bunch of people that it feels like a big family reunion. This summer is going to be just great, I decide.

It is tradition to celebrate the end of the first day of Warped with a huge barbecue, as there is a crazy amount of people attending we just put up a giant grill between the buses and provide enough alcohol and meat and that's it, it always turns out to be an amazing party though.

The newcomer band of the tour has to do the food, while the rest of us just hangs out and eats and drinks until there is nothing left. This year the 'lucky' band was Petrichor a bunch of seventeen year old kids from Australia, my home country, three girls and two boys that played a hectic hardcore and were an outright weird and crazy lot. As they had no clue about anything I had sort of vowed to mother them a bit and helped them out wherever I could but they were driving me nuts most of the time.

I ended up having a couple of beers with the guys from Asking Alexandria whom I have been working with on other tours and got really close with. Sometimes even too close. Most people think they are a bunch of sexist jerks and that's true but honestly, I love the guys, they never manage to offend me although they try a lot. I just can't take them seriously enough.

At the moment I was having a discussion with Danny about why I would not date any band members.
"Imagine Gi, you miss all of this" he gestures along his body, smiling brightly at me.

I have just taken a sip of my bottle and choke on it because I have to laugh so much so I spray my mouthful onto the bystanders which earns me a lot of curses and yells that I wave off and instead decide to answer.
