Break Down The Barricade

It Feels Like I'm On Fire

*7 months later*
Skye's POV~

Mike and I came home and the past seven months have been a lot of fun planning for our baby. The boys have helped us a lot, and Vic is just like a big brother to me. The three boys are almost just as excited for the arrival of the newest addition as Mike and I are. Currently, we are out at the mall shopping for baby clothes, since we recently found out it's a boy. There haven't been any complications with my pregnancy so far, and for that, Mike and I are seriously grateful. We've been wandering around Tiny Tots buying decorations for the nursery for about an hour.

"Ooh! Mikey, wouldn't this be adorable hanging over his crib?" I asked, excitedly pointing at a small mobile that had five little zoo animals dangling from it. Mike smiled and wrapped his arms around my now quite obviously pregnant tummy.

"I agree, I especially like the little giraffe," he replied, kissing my cheek. I rolled my eyes and laughed. Giraffes and elephants were all over the nursery. You could swear that the room belonged to a circus baby.

I turned around and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "I love you Skye," he whispered. "I love you too Mikey," I whispered back.

I grabbed three little onesies, the diapers, and the little zoo-mobile and we walked to the checkout. The cashier smiled as she rung us up, looking at Mike when she thought I wouldn't notice. We paid, then when we got outside we both busted out laughing. "She was totally checking you out baby," I said between laughs. He nodded and held up 8 fingers. We had been counting how many cashiers in the mall checked him out when I wasn't looking. It used to bother me before my bump was visible, but now that I'm showing it's just hilarious.

We laughed and sang all the way home and when we drove up all the lights were off in the house, and Mike put his hands over my eyes. I sighed a little then went along with it. I knew that they were planning a baby shower and it was supposed to be a surprise, so I decided to play along.

Mike opened the door and walked me inside, then removed his hands from my eyes. The lights came on and Vic, Dani, Jaime, Tony, Austin, Alex, Jack, Kellin, Katelynne, and Copeland all jumped up and yelled "SURPRISE!" Well, except Copeland, since she can't talk yet, but you get the point.

I pretended to be surprised and then fake-cried, causing Jaime to run over and make sure I was okay. "I hope we didn't scare the baby out of you," he said and I couldn't help but laugh. Soon everyone was laughing and having a good time. Katelynne, Copeland, Dani, and I sat on the couch and chatted while the boys argued over who got the best gift for the baby. God, the men in our friend group can act like such....girls sometimes.

Mike walked over to the couch and helped me up, though I wasn't sure why. He walked me to the middle of the room and called to get everyone's attention.

He bent down on his knee and pulled out a small black box. I gasped. "Skye, you know that I love you. And I know that this relationship may have started out rough, but you and I have toughed it out and nothing slowed us down. There's nothing that we can't do when we're together, and I'd like to make sure that we will never have to do anything alone. Skye Amelia Bay, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" he asked with tears welling up in his eyes. I smiled widely and nodded my head. "Of course I will."

He slid the gorgeous sapphire and diamond ring onto my finger, and everyone applauded. "Aww! That was so sweet, but you know what else is sweet? CAKE!" Jaime shouted causing everyone to laugh and roll their eyes. "Yes, Jaime. We can have the cake now," I chuckled and walked to the kitchen.

After everyone had eaten cake and I had received all the gifts from the band members and their girls, all but Dani, Kellin, and the PTV boys left. We were cleaning up and chatting when I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. The baby isn't due for another two weeks, I thought.

I sat down on the couch as another fiery pain burned through my stomach. "MIKE!" I yelled. He came running into the room. "SKYE! What is it? Are you okay?" he asked, panicking. I felt a warm liquid run down my leg and looked down. It wasn't blood so that means....

"HOLY SHIT THE BABY'S COMING!" I yelled, causing everyone else to run into the room. Mike looked afraid, but Kellin walked over to me calmly. "Breathe, Skye. You're having contractions. It's okay. Breathe," he said to me. He and Mike helped me up and into the car. Mike said he'd drive if Kellin could keep me calm, so Kellin and I sat in the back seat and Mike and Vic were up front.

"Squeeze my hand as hard as you can when you feel a contraction, okay?" Kellin told me and I nodded.

By the time we arrived at the hospital, the contractions had sped up, and the baby was almost here. The doctors rushed me in and upstairs, Mike following close behind. "Are you the father?" one of the doctors asked Mike, and he nodded fiercely. When we arrived at the room, he sat in there with me through everything. Right before they gave me all the drugs and the epidural, I squeezed Mike's hand and he smiled at me.

"Here comes our little boy."
