Break Down The Barricade

Mike's POV~

My heart dropped. We lost our baby girl.... I was grateful that we still had our baby boy though. I saw the tears streaming down Skye's paled cheeks and leaned over and kissed her forehead softly. "It's going to be okay, honey. We still have our son, I guess she was the casualty of the war between your body and your abuser," I whispered. She nodded and one of the doctors came in holding little Alex in his arms. "I can see that you've already received the bad news, but I have some good news regarding your son," he said. I looked at him with expectant eyes and he continued.

"The good news is that your baby boy has no brain damage or internal damage whatsoever, and is completely healthy," he said, smiling and handing Alex to me. Skye smiled from the bed and held out her arms. I placed my son gently into her arms and she smiled brightly as she looked at him. The doctor stood to the side and read the details.

"Alexander Micheal Fuentes, 13 inches long, 8.6 pounds," he said and I smiled the whole time, as did Skye. The doctor then left the room and my bandmates entered. "Congratulations little bro!" Vic said excitedly as he hugged me. Tony hugged me awkwardly and waited off to the side. Jaime skipped the hug and went straight to look at the baby, like I knew he would.

"Aww! Mike he looks just like you! He's even got the trademark Fuentes pout down already," Jaime said excitedly, and Skye laughed. Tony eventually went over to the bed and looked at Alex. He acted like a child, like he'd never seen a baby before. He watched him curiously and reached out towards him. Alex giggled and grabbed Tony's hand, causing him to smile.

"Aww, looks like little Fuentes has already taken a liking to uncle turtle," Jaime said. Skye smiled and lifted Alex towards Tony. He looked a bit afraid at first, but then took the baby and held him up against his chest. Alex smiled the whole time, gurgling and flapping his arms about as Tony held him.

Tony shared Alex's smile as he rubbed the baby's back. He kissed his forehead, then turned to me. "Good job Mike," he said and I chuckled a bit. He handed Alex over to Jaime, and immediately Alex started to cry. Jaime looked a bit scared and quickly gave him to me. I tried to shush him, but nothing worked. I looked at Skye, who was laughing at me.

"What?" I asked. "You look scared Mikey, just check his diaper," she laughed, so I did. Sure enough the little one had shit himself. I gagged and Vic and Skye both laughed at me. "What, you wanna take this?" I asked him. "Aww, come on daddy Mike, you can do it," he chuckled. "Don't call me that," I replied, then walked over to the table and looked around until I found the package of diapers I'd brought with me.

I changed him as fast as I could, nearly throwing up a couple of times. The guys and Skye were laughing hysterically watching me, and Alex was screaming. When I was finally done and had thrown the old diaper away, I patted his back until he calmed down.

Once he'd stopped screaming, I handed him back to Jaime. Alex looked at him for a few minutes, then started to cry again. Jaime looked scared and then sad. He raised his eyebrows and handed the crying little boy to Tony, and Alex got quiet almost as soon as Jaime let go. Vic and I were trying hard not to burst with laughter.

Jaime pouted and walked out of the room and my brother and I laughed our asses off. Tony smiled and bounced the now-giggling baby up and down. When Vic and I recovered, Tony walked over to us. Vic stretched out his arms for the baby, and Tony handed him off. I looked over at Skye, who was asleep, and then back to Vic so I wouldn't miss the reaction Alex had to him.

Alex looked as if he was going to cry, then his face untwisted, and he began to grab at Vic's hair. Vic smiled until he got a handful of hair and then started yanking. "Ow, ow, Mike! Take this thing away from me! Ow!" he said, and I laughed again. I walked towards him and pulled Alex off of him, still laughing. Even Tony was snickering off to the side.

The doctor walked back into the room, and looked at my sleeping wife, then at me. "It's time for Alex to go back to the nursery to sleep. When Mrs. Skye wakes up, we will bring him back in to be fed, okay?" he said, and I nodded and let the nurse standing by him take Alex from me. Vic and Tony went to go check on Jaime and cheer him up, and I went and sat by Skye.

I looked at her beautiful face and kissed her head softly. "You did good, babe," I whispered and then sat down next to her bed, holding onto her hand.

I'm SO SO SO sorry that I have been so slow with the updates /.\ please forgive me! I've had a lot of stuff going on with a pretty bad relapse these past few weeks and I've been struggling to keep up with my two solo stories plus my other two collabs ;-; it's gotten a lot tougher since school started back up, but I'm trying really hard! Please bare with me, I'll be back and better soon! :D Keep your heads up babes, I love you!
