This is why I loved Tone. I went to him to vent about Michael, and he didn't expect sexual favors after. He was just my best friend. And a great fuck when I needed it.

"So now it's been a month, and he's been surpisingly faithful. Am I wrong to still doubt him?" I said.

We lay across his couch, my head in his lap. He absent mindedly ran his fingers through my hair, just listening as I brought on the tidal wave.

He looked down at me, frowning before speaking.

"Max, we both grew up with him. We both know how he is with women. That being said, I know how much he loves you. I've never seen him like this, not even with Alysha." he paused, leaning down to kiss my forehead. "And I've never seen you like this, not even with Vic. You're head over heels, whether you admit it or not."

"I'm royally fucked." I groaned, turning to hide my face in his tummy.

"Be with him. Jack and I are gonna miss your naked ass, but Mike is really trying for you." He said.

He picked my head up, putting it down on the couch as he stood, holding out a hand for me. I begrudgingly took his hand, knowing this was the end of our more than friendship. After I got up, we'd go back to being just friends. I finally took it, slowly standing up.

"This is it Tone." I whispered, pulling him in for a hug.

"Oh shut up, you always have me. Can't get rid of me that easily." he smiled, holding me close.

We stood there for a few minutes, holding each other. I was okay with not having him to sleep with, even though I did love it. But this also meant I was committing to Mike, which scared me more than anything.

"Come on Tone, Vic's having another one of those infamous barbeques. Maybe Chelsea will be there for you." I smiled as we finally pulled away.

He blushed a light shade of pink, nudging me with his shoulder. Chelsea was one of Lisa's friends, she'd been to a few of Vic's parties. Tony thought she was way cute, but was too shy to talk to her one on one. She was also pretty quiet, but she was bubbly and warm once you got her started. I knew he could do it, he just needed to go for it.

We both grabbed our bathing suits and some beer to bring with.

"Thank you for always being there Tony, it means the world." I said.

"Hey, that's what best friends do, dude." he smiled, giving my hand a small squeeze before shutting off the car.

I headed inside to put the beer in the fridge for later before changing quickly into my high waisted bikini. Mike loved it, he always told me I looked like a pinup queen in it. I finally met everyone outside, taking in my surroundings. Tony had found Chels. Zack was grilling with Jack and Jamie. Lisa and Alex were on the lounge chairs with Vic and Dani. And Mike sat alone by the side of the pool, feet dangling in the water, corona in hand.

I dove into the water, resurfacing in front of him. I took the beer from him and took a swig, handing it back. Mike looked down to me, giving the most genuine smile any human being could posess. I made a gesture with my finger for him to come closer, scratching his scruffy chin with my thumb.

"Please don't make me regret this." I whispered.

With that, he crashed his lips to mine. We continued to kiss like that for a few minutes before pulling away to catch our breaths. Before either of us could say anything, we were ambushed by splashes from behind.

"Fucking finally!" Alex yelled.

Michael dove into the pool, grabbing him and shoving him under water. In the end, it turned into a huge splash fight between Michael, Alex, Jack, and me. When it finally came to an end. we hopped out and made our way to the grill. Everyonemade their plates before heading to the tables. Mike sat next to me, placing his hand on my knee as we ate, his silent way of expressing how happy he was that I was his.
