... We All Fall Down

I go inside the store and look around. I knew nothing about guns. Nothing. "Hello.. Can I help you?" The guy said. "Yeah.. I need a pistol." I said and looked at the counter. "Of course.. We have these." He shows me some of them. He hands me the hand pistol and teaches me how to point. "This is where the bullets go." And shows me the basics. "I'll take it." I said. "Permission to hold arms?" I retrieve the license I just got today. "Alright." He checks it and I pay the gun. -------------- "Please daddy." "Nita I said no.. And that's final." "Just a few lessons.. That's all I need." He sits down and puts his gun out. "You want to learn how to shoot?" I nod. "Why?" "Because I need it.. I need to protect you guys." "Nita... Sit." I do. "You don't need to protect me.. Or your mother." "Dad.. They took away the most innocent people away from me... Emma and Xavier." His face grows sad. "He shot Mike, but it was meant for Tony. I'm not going to lose anyone anymore. I don't want to attend so many funerals anymore." He sighs and nods. "Okay.. Okay... I'll ask the sheriff for permission." "Awesome!" "Just for protection Nita Tegan." "Yes Daddy." I kiss his cheek and hug him awkwardly. "Just for protection." And if I have to kill someone as well. ----------- My dad puts some headphones on me and some goggles. He helps me hold the gun right. He loads the gun and puts his fingers around mine in the trigger. "Slowly." And the gun shoots the bullet, hitting right in the middle of the target. "Good girl. Now try yourself." I made sure I had the gun secure in my hands. I put my finger on the trigger and aimed for the heart target. I took a deep breath and slowly pressed the trigger, making the bullet hit the target. I smile and look at my dad who was shocked. "Good?" He looks at me and nods. "I'm impressed." He says. "Wanna battle?" I nod and reload my gun. "Whoever hits the wall.. Buys the coffee." He said. We got into our individual slots and began our battle.
