Darlin you'll be okay
This is a wasteland
*Samantha Pov
Finally I was free. I wouldn't ever have to see that bastard who I called father anymore. I could move into an apartment away from him. I ran out of the courtroom to find Vic sitting on the marble floor opposite of the courtroom. Tapping his finger anxiously. Thud. He heard the door slam shut after me. He jumped up on his feet, eyes pleading me to tell him if I was finally free. I shook my head yes. I could feel the tears start to form in my eyes. He held out his arms and I ran straight into them and snuggled into his chest and started to cry happy tears. We stayed like this for a little bit before he let go of me and held my face with one hand, and with the other wiped back a tear.
"Why are you crying? Shouldn't you be happy?" He asked smiling.
"I am you dork. I'm free." I spoke at a tone barely above a whisper. He tenderly kissed my lips, then my forehead, for the first time ever. I felt sparks, no not sparks, fireworks go off.
"Yes you are." He said with the biggest, goofiest grin.
We heard someone clear their throat.
I turned around to see my dad.
I felt my body become paralyzed with fear. Vic pulled me back to his side, protectively. I wrapped my arms around his waist and snuggled the side my face into Vic's side. His arm was around me.
"What do you want?" Vic spoke with a very angry tone to his voice. My father tried to reach out to touch me, and Vic moved me back a few steps by slightly turning himself.
"I said, What do you what?" Vic raised his voice causing some people to turn.
"I want to talk to MY daughter," He hissed, "Alone."
I let go of Vic's waist and stepped forward. "Whatever you have to say to me, you will have to say in front of Vic." I grabbed Vic's hand, and he squeezed my hand gently for reassurance.
"I don't appreciate your sass, young lady. You are my daughter and whether or not the court says so, you answer to me." He snarled, getting in my face.
Vic pulled me back slightly behind him, let go of my hand and protectively put his arm around me.
"Don't you dare talk to her like that. Come on Samantha we are leaving." He said with such a pissed off look in his face. I had never seen Vic like that.
As we started to walk off, my father started yelling. I stopped and yelled back at him, "STOP DAD! IT'S OVER. I DONT BELONG TO YOU ANYMORE!"
Thud thud thud. I knew those footsteps, and so did Vic. Vic let go of my and stepped in front of me, making a barricade between my father and I.
"DON'T YOU DARE FUCKING TOUCH HER! YOU'LL HAVE TO GO THREW ME FIRST!" Vic yelled, in a very defensive stance. I looked around and everyone was staring at my father, Vic, and I.
"Fine!" My dad yelled and punched Vic's right side of his face as hard as he could. He flew to the floor three feet away to left of where Vic was standing before. I flew down next to Vic kneeling on the marble floor that was now turning red. I picked up Vic's head and rested it on my lap.
"No no no Vic. Vic, I'm so sorry." I hysterically cried out.
"You're turn bitch." My father said looking at me. Behind him I could see police running over. I tried to delay him.
"No Dad. Why can't you just stop. You hurt him!" I yelled. He started to lunge at me when the police got here. They grabbed his arms and pinned him down. They read his Amanda rights and handcuffed him. He was struggling to try and get lose. Finally they got him and took him outside.
An ambulance showed up a few minutes later and I rode with Vic, while weeping holding his hand, as the people in the ambulance car tried to clean Vic's cuts up. Why do I bring so much trouble to the people around me.
