Beautiful And Blind
Do Not Disturb
I heaved the heavy cart along the empty hallway toward the first room on my list. It was only 10AM so most of the guests where still sleeping. I double checked the number on the paper to make sure that it was the right room. I was about to knock when I looked at the handle. There was a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the handle. I huffed out a breath. This was going to be a very long day I could already feel it.
I wrote DND and the time before looking at the door across the hall. That was my next room and the door handle was empty. I smiled and grabbed fresh towels and my cleaning caddy before heading to the door. I knocked on the door.
“Housekeeping.” I said loudly toward the door. I waited a minute listening intently for an answer. When I received no response I repeated the process. Content that there was still no answer I slid my key card into the lock. The light flashed green and I opened the door.
I kicked the doorstopper under the door and proceeded through the room. I set the towels and caddy on the table before going over to the curtains. I flung them open letting in the sunlight. I turned around and surveyed the damage. It wasn’t too bad. Lots of clothes scattered around and a few empty beer bottles. I quickly picked up the empties and put them in the garbage before setting it by the door.
I walked to the bed and began making it. Pulling the sheets back up to the head of the bed and straightened the comforter. Happy with how it looked I decided to start on the bathroom. I grabbed the towels off the table and headed toward the bathroom. The door was shut which was nothing I wasn’t used to. Someone had probably gone to the bathroom and didn’t want to smell it before they left the room.
I turned the handle and pushed the door open. The light was on and a rush of hot moist air came rushing out. I looked up and standing there dripping wet and drying his hair was a heavily tattooed man. The sound of the door didn’t bother him. He just kept toweling off his hair.
“Dude get out. I’ll be done in a minute.” The man said.
“I am so sorry sir. I knocked and no one answered.” I squeak out as I drop the towels and cover my eyes.
I quickly turn around and dart out of the room grabbing my caddy on the way out. I shut the door behind me. This isn’t the first time that this had happened. Being a housekeeper you are bound to walk in on something of this sort at some point. Most of the time it was elderly people that hadn’t heard me knock; I had even walked in on my fair share of people having sex.
None of them however were young men with lots of tattoos. I felt my face flush as his image flashed back into my head. I quickly went back to my cart and checked the room off. The only thing I hadn’t done was get the garbage out and straighten everything up. I pushed the cart down the hall and started on my next room. Thankfully there was no one in this one. I was in the middle of making the bed when there was a knock on the door. I walked over to it and saw the man standing there; he was fully clothed now though.
“Hey. Sorry about that. I didn’t hear you knock.” He says rubbing the back of his neck.
“Not your fault. I know better than to just open a door in a guest’s room without knocking. My fault entirely sir, I am sorry.” I reply grabbing some shampoo and conditioner off my cart.
“Would it be to forward of my to ask what time you get off work? I would like to take you out to make up for scaring you for life.” He jokes. He smiles at me and there is something in that smile that I just can’t say no to.
“I get off at 5.” I tell him before walking back into the room. I smile to myself.
“My name is Tony by the way.” He shouts into the room.
“I’m Jordyn. I will see you tonight Tony.” I say before heading into the bathroom and out of his sight. I caught a glimpse of him standing in the doorway smiling widely at me before I couldn’t see him anymore.
I don’t know why I said yes, but I am glad I did. I hadn’t had much interaction with anyone for a couple month. I said yes to every shift that the hotel gave me because I liked making the extra money. It did however hinder me from going out and actually hanging out with people. Not that I was complaining I was planning on moving far away from here in a month. Walking in on someone naked wasn’t the most orthodox way to meet someone, but I was willing to take any interaction with another human that I could get.
Notes
So this is a new story I am kinda working on. The idea has been floating around in my head for the past couple weeks and I decided to type it up to get it out of my head.
Hope you guys enjoy :)
