What's So Good About Picking Up The Pieces? (Discontinued)

Tony's P.O.V.

I walked into the kitchen, nerves building up with every step I took. What could she want? Why am I involved?! Fuck. She probably doesn't approve of Mike and I...ugh...see, this is why life sucks. There's always a problem to take care of.

"Y-You wanted me in here?" I asked.

"Yes, sit down. Mike was just explaining to me why you two are so close." Mike's mom spoke. I sat down next to Mike reluctantly.

"What does she want?" I whispered to Mike.

"I don't know..." Mike replied. Mama Fuentes sat down in front of us, her arms crossed.

"How long have you been lying to me?" Was the first thing she asked. And it was directed towards me.

"Lying? A-About what?" I asked.

"Seeing Mike. I thought he was still with your sister, how does she feel about this?"

"Mama, she's fine with it...a-and we haven't really been lying...we just didn't tell you." Mike shrugged, awkwardly.

"Yea, well I think.." Mama Fuentes glanced down to our intertwined fingers locked together. "I think it's adorable."

The second I heard the words leave her mouth, I let out a sigh of relief, whereas Mike overreacted and kissed me in one swift motion. He had the biggest smile on his face when he pulled apart from me. My face was only left in a profound blush. When I looked at Mama Fuentes she was smiling.

"¿Qué diablos es esto!"

All three of us turned our heads to see a very shocked looking Papa Fuentes at the doorway.

"Amor, cálmate ... Mike es gay. Tony es su novio." Mama spoke calmly, walking over to him.

The way Mike looked completely frozen in place, and the way his dad looked so horrified let me know this wasn't as happy of a moment as we thought. Nothing's ever as good as it seems.
