Twenty one

Vic's POV

Why is she so scared? I never seen her this scared before.

Did something happen?

We now wait in the waiting room, wondering what's going on with Aleah.

Honestly I'm scared, I'm nervous.

Finally the doctor came out, her face not looking so cheerful.

"Family of Aleah Diamond?"

Lucy shoots up. "I'm Lucy Sunkist Diamond. Her step sister."

"May I speak to you in private?" That's when it scares me.

Lucy walks a few feet away, while the doctor breaks the news.

Before the doctor could even finish. Lucy puts her hands to her nouth, holding back sobs & tears are running down her face. Then that's when she stares at us.

My heart stops. That look she's giving us, I prayed we'd never get that look ever since our grandparents passed.

The doctor soon leaves & she comes back to us & she's sobbing now.

"Amb-ber d-doesn't ha-have t-time. She l-lost a lot of b-blood, due to I-injurys f-from h-her-her wrist." She manages to choke out. Mike wraps his arms around Lucy while se cries into his chest. I couldn't tell if he was crying but he was wearing his sunglasses.

Tony by gives Amber that look. That look of guilt. I know it isn't his fault.

I collapse onto the ground, pushing away people who want to help me get up.

I feel numb, I don't feel anything. I don't want to feel anything.

Aleah slipped easily through my fingers. I could've helped her. I could've been there for her, but instead was being so selfish I pushed her away.

The doctor comes rushing back out.

"We like to inform you, that we got some blood into her system. There's a 20 percent chance she will live."

Oh how fucking great, like I really wanted to know that.

"She has slipped into coma. We don't know how long she can be in coma for. It could be days, weeks, months, even years. If any of you liked to see her, try to talk to her. To bring her back, would you?"

Everyone stares at me.

Lucy spoke softly. "Vic you should go." I took a deep breathe & followed the doctor.

"She's in there." She said referring to the closed door.

I was slowly over & knock.

God why would I knock.

But I hear a faint. "Come in."

I get excited & rush in there.

Before me is Aleah. She's so pale, her hair all over, her makeup still fixed to perfection.

She's awake. The sparkle in her eyes still remain.

"Vic." She whispers. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize I hit a vein."

I stare at we. "Why?" It was the only word that slipped from my closed off mind.

"I don't want to talk about it." She muttered.

Her eyes slowly close. Her heart rate slowly down.

"Aleah. Stay with me. Please, I can't loose you. I need you with me. I'm sorry I was so selfish to ignore you. I'm so sorry I couldn't get over my own self pity. Yes I'll admit it, it killed me to see you with Tony okay? I wanted you for myself. I still want you for myself." I was now crying.

Her heart beat picks up.

"I love you Vic. Promise you'll be here when I get back."

I walk over to her. Kiss her lips ever so softly.

"I promise I'll be here. But you have to promise to come back. I love you Aleah Diamond."

She smiles lightly & looks me once more in the eyes before she's gone.

Shes here but yet she's not here.

I promise you, I'll be here waiting for you to get back.
