Let's Have A Toast To The Good Life

"Well, that was a bust." Nicole said with a laugh as we had attempted on going running tonight, but instead stayed in at her place and drank Sangrias until we couldn't see straight. I wasn't exactly sure how many glasses we had, but I didn't care to count.

I looked over at her and giggled, looking at the clothes in front of me as we had begun going through her closet for some reason and putting outfits together because this is what fashion girls did- we got hammered and put outfits together. Lame as can be, I know.

Moments later, the front door opened and Cam walked in, a little buzzed himself as I could notice, with some other folks behind him. Once they got closer to us, I noticed them as the PTV guys, with a case or two of beers in there hands. "Yikes. Looks like they've already hit the bottle over here." Cam joked, walking over to Nic and I sitting on the living room floor with clothes and a pitcher of the beverage and glasses beside us. He bent down and kissed Nic on the lips, then to me, messing up my hair. "Hey Bon."

Nicole and I just looked over and each other and laughed, making all the guys laugh in response. "Heeeeey, guys. Good to see you." She greeted with a smile and squinty eyes.

I looked over at them, then at Mike, smiling softly and waving to them before looking back down at the clothes in front of me and attempting to concentrate on creating. That's what I did, after all.

The guys put some beer in the fridge and came to the living room and began talking about tour- which had just ended two days ago. Vic's eyes got big as he looked at my hand and grabbed it, studying the pink rock sitting on my hand. "Holy fuck! Bonnie, this is beautiful! Who got you this?"

All the guys looked at it with wide eyes and impressed noises coming from them. "Steven got it for her for her birthday a couple of months ago. Isn't she gorgeous? Her name is Sasha."

Mike chuckled at the name, "Sasha. She's beautiful."

"Are you?..." Jaime asked, trailing off meaning if Steven and I were engaged.

I shook my head. "Oh no, no. It was just a birthday present. A birthday and a Miss-You-While-I'm-Gone gift."

"Oh yeah, he's in New York, right?" Tony asked, remembering the situation.

Again, I nodded. "Yeah, I'll be visiting him for a week next week. I'm pretty excited to see him. He's been so busy with he firm and getting everything situated. He tries to come down every two weeks. But I told him this time, I'd go to him."

"How sweet of you." Mike said, sipping on his beer. He was wearing a black snapback hat, a black t-shirt that had Snoop Dog on it, and was wearing a black leather jacket paired with some black skinny jeans. It was the most fashion forward I'd ever seen him. I was impressed.

"I know." I smiled widely, not feeling awkward around Mike. Maybe it was because I was drunk, or maybe because a lot of time had passed since we broke up and things were fine. He seemed fine. And, so did I.

The rest of the night went on wonderfully. We were all there, drinking and having a really great time- just seven friends all hanging out and laughing. It was so nice to not hang out with lawyer people for a change; it'd been a while since I could get piss drunk and not worry about my actions. I felt like I could breathe.

Two days later, I found myself at Nipsy's, the day before I left for New York for the week. I was catching up with the barista about the shop; she'd mentioned she went in and fell in love with everything and how it'd easily became her new favorite shop.

"Ah, well look who's here." A voice boomed in our direction. I looked to my right and saw Mike standing there, a coffee in his hand, taking a seat in front of me at the table I was at. I had my laptop out because I was working on a post for the blog and was sipping on an iced coffee. It felt reminiscent to when we had first met up here late last year.

"You know this is my spot." I smiled as the barista walked back to work and I closed my laptop. "What brings you to LA, Fuentes?"

"I have some things to take care of. Aren't you supposed to be leaving to your dude?"

I nodded, "Tomorrow. I'm excited. You want a keychain or something?"

He chuckled loudly, "Only if it's an I Love New York one. Any other one is a joke." He laughed again as did I.

"I feel like I never formally thanked you."

"For?"

"For the Paris Fashion Week tickets. You remembered."

He smiled softly, not like he used too though. It was friendly, not lustful. "Of course. You said it was your dream. I couldn't believe a fashion girl like you hadn't gone. NY was sold out, unfortunately. "

"No, no. Thank you. That was an incredible gift, like, amazing."

"Not as amazing as Sasha." He pointed at my pink diamond and grinned. "I might need him to help me pick out jewelry for Alysha."

"You and her are still together?" I grinned genuinely.

He nodded, "Yeah. It was a little rough at first, but, she gets me, you know? She gets this lifestyle."

"That's nice." I smiled sweetly.

"Yeah, like how Steven gets yours." I liked how he said that. I liked that he noticed that. He was right. No matter how hard I tried, Mike and I didn't fit. He was happy and so was I. I loved that.

"Yeah, just like that." Mike and I caught up for another hour before I had to go and pack. I wasn't sure what got into him in the last couple of months. But, acceptance is a beautiful thing. It truly is.

STEVEN'S POV / MANHATTAN, NEW YORK

I felt like I was running out the Manhattan apartment making sure it was clean and perfect. Bonnie was coming up to see me and I couldn't contain my excitement. I'd missed her like fucking crazy. I went out and got her favorite wine and champagne and planned on cooking an exquisite dinner. I had my best suit dry cleaned and ready. I wasn't too sure why I was so nervous, maybe because I felt the endless need to impress her. Not like she cares about all of this stuff; if it were up to her, she would rather be in pajamas with wine and pizza. I had that planned, too.

Maybe because I had news to share with her.

Maybe because I was obsessed with perfection.

And she was perfect.

And I was terrified of that.

Notes

HERE GOES NOTHING.

How do y'all feel about Mike love for Alysha? And this genuine friendship between Bonnie and Mike? Do you think he has other intentions other than friendship?

ALSO, why the fuck is Steven so nervous? What do you think HE has planned?

As always, leave your comments/ questions, and concerns below.

Thank you for reading!
