Something Else

Where Dreams Are Made Of

"Wow, I didn't think it'd be this cold!" Mike said as he zipped up his jacket and put on his hood. We were outside of the airport waiting for a car that my dad had set up for me this week. There was a breeze and it was a cool fifty degrees outside. And for Mike, that meant it felt at least below 32 degrees. I was okay with the weather. I was a teeny bit cold, but I wasn't being a baby about it like he was.

"Babe, I told you it'd be cold. Look, there's people walking around in cardigans. This is cardigan weather for them. You're letting them know that we're from the West Coast by complaining." I smiled softly as he chuckled a little.

A sleek black car pulled up to us and I recognized him as my dad's NY driver, Ben. He got out of the car and greeted us both, then sticking our luggage in the truck of his car. I got in first, then Mike, before ben closed the door for us and then proceeded to get in the front seat and drive. "How are you doing Miss Bonnie?" He asked with a grin.

"I'm doing great! How are you doing, Ben? How's your wife?" I grinned, having known Ben for basically the majority of my life.

"Oh, she's doing great! We sent Val off to university. We're just looking into what we're gonna do now that we're done raising the kiddos." He kept on smiling. My dad helped pay for Val's tuition and Ben was forever grateful for that. He and my dad have been friends for what felt like forever. My dad would help out Ben and his family until the end of time. Ben refused to take my dad's over payment for some reason. He was just happy to be here.

"That's amazing. She's gonna love university. College was cool. It just wasn't for me personally. I just wanted to be out there dwelled into fashion." I spoke as Mike looked over to me and smiled as we passed by Central Park.

"She's been talking about college for years. She's so happy and grateful."

Ben and I talked simply on the way over to the apartment and then helped us get our things out of the car. "Don't worry, I got it man." Mike said to Ben kindly.

"Y'all have fun. Just call when you need me, Miss Bonnie." Ben smiled and waved before he are sure we got inside. The bell hop opened the doors for us and then we walked to the elevator.

"This building is like, really fucking nice." Mike gasped as he followed me to the elevator doors. I looked up at him and smiled as we got on and went all the way to the top. "You're so out of my league, Bonnie like seriously." He mentioned looking around the elevator and the fancy gold trimming around it.

"C'mon." I said as we reached the top and walked to the apartment door. I grabbed my keys and opened it, letting Mike in first since he had all of our luggage before walking in myself.

"Holy. Shit." Mike said as he looked out of the glass windows and made contact with the gorgeous view.

"Isn't it the best thing in the world?" I shouted, grabbing his arm and rest my head on him.

"Please tell me the bedroom has this view." His eyes lit up hopefully.

"It does." I grinned and took his hand and led him into the bedroom.

He and I plopped ourselves on the bed and we both sat up looking at the view in front of us. It was peaceful seeing the city so busy. This is why I fell in love with New York. It was this view right here. It was seeing the power of the breeze outside, moving the trees so far enough that the orange, yellow, and red leaves would fall off.

It was seeing the tall buildings, and the Empire State, and the skyline when the city lights came on. It was being here with Mike, mostly. That was the best part.

"You've lived an insane life, Bonnie." He mumbled, turning his head to look around the room at all of the decorative portraits and how perfectly made everything was. He wrapped his right arm around me and I rested my head on his chest. "I wish I lived here."

I smiled softly, wondering why he kept saying the things he's been saying since we got here. He probably just wasn't used to it, and I can get that.

"So, I'm gonna be alone while you go out and are working for a little bit?" He asked, sitting on the bed with a frown.

"For a few hours. I have a buyer's meeting, then I have to go to one of the stores to place an order for the holidays. I have to do that stuff today so the store I buy for can get it in time for Christmas. I'm already behind on it." I said, fixing my lipstick and running my hands through my hair. "I won't be long, I promise." I kissed him on the lips softly. "If you want food or anything, call that number and they'll bring it up to you. There's also take out menus on the fridge if you don't want anything here."

"Okay." He said, watching me slip on my shoes. "The game starts in like an hour so I'll be making sure my Chargers are on it." He winked at me with a smile.

I giggled before grabbing my keys and kissing Mike once more, "I'll be back." He nodded as he laid back on the bed and turned on the TV so he could watch football. I left the apartment and walked a couple of blocks to the building I was supposed to go in.

I went up the elevator to the second floor and walked into the conference room where there were a few people sitting. I greeted everyone then sat down on one of the black rollie chairs, glancing at all the papers that were scattered in front of a few people. Who knew being a buyer could get this professional?

"Hey Bonnie! Where's your partner in crime at?" The woman in charge, Ashley Biggs, asked with a bright grin. Her bright pink lipstick which I noticed immediately as Melt Cosmetics' Shady Lady color.

I smiled politely, "She had a prior engagement that came up around the same time. She sent me all of the stuff she needed to give you, though." Nicole was supposed to come with me, but of course, she's being an immature person and just sent me her things, refusing to tag along.

"Oh okay, awesome!" She said, unknowingly not realizing anything going on privately in our lives.

I walked back in to the apartment, and Mike was in the living room watching football, dropping my Chanel bucket bag on a nearby chair. "How was it?" He asked with a genuine smile.

"It went good. Nicole's ideas totally made me look like I do nothing all day. But other than her being a bitch, everything went fine. I got my order in, everything's good."

"I'm telling you, you two will be back to normal in no time."

"Yeah, whatever. What'd you do?"

"I watched the game. You hungry?" He asked, pulling me on his lap and wrapped his arm around my waist.

"I am. Let's get some pizza!" I exclaimed happily.

"Some authentic New Yawk pizza." He said in a Northern accent.

I giggled, "Yes, yes. I know this perfect spot. C'mon."

He kissed my cheek, "Alright. Gimme like five minutes and we'll go."

I nodded and continued to sit on the couch as he got up to grab a jacket and his shoes, before we went off to have some authentic pizza.

There was something about being absolutely alone, no friends or family or whoever to bother you when you are on a trip with your boyfriend that makes you just wanna get romantic. Because I honestly don't think I've had so much hot and passionate sex in my entire life than I have the last three days. It was a dream.

After our morning sex-capades, Mike and I went and grabbed some breakfast. We were at the most perfect little cafe enjoying each others company. I didn't have anymore work to do so the next couple of days were gonna be for us to enjoy. Mike was happy because that means he wouldn't get left in the apartment all day. Even though I had told him to go out and do something but he refused since he'd never been in New York alone before. He'd either been with his band, or always with somebody.

The hot coffee's stream rose into the November air, yearning for me to sip it until it was finished. Mike had gotten a call from his brother about their upcoming tour beginning next week. I was happily eating my warm banana nut muffin, people watching and thinking. I looked at an empty building and imagined where my dad would have his east coast offices.

He told me a couple of weeks ago that he was going to have a firm out here in New York. I didm't know how I felt about it, yet alone how my mother felt about it. She liked New York, but she couldn't imagine herself living here. And an office here would mean living here. I wonder if my dad even talked to my mom about this decision; he was infamous for not doing that on big decisions.

Mike hung up and saw me staring into space. "Bon, you okay?"

I nodded with a smile, "Yeah. I'm just thinking about my mom. Remember how I told you that my dad was thinking about having a firm out here?" Mike nodded, taking a bite of his hot breakfast sandwich. "Well, he decided he was gonna have one out here. My mom is so against living anywhere but LA. I'm sure he didn't even talk to her about that. He tends to do that." I rolled my eyes.

"Aw, does that mean they are gonna move out here?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "I'm not sure. I haven't even talked to them about the details. What'd Vic want?"

"Just talking about tour. Gonna rehearse like crazy when I get back. Did I give you the schedule?"

I shook my head, "No. I know it's gonna be long as hell though. Jaime was telling me you all are pulling out the stops for this one."

"I'll give you the schedule when we get back. Tours usually last like two to three months, but this tour is gonna be like five to six months."

"Sounds exciting!" I exclaimed with a grin. I was really excited for him. I know how much all the guys loved touring and how happy they get when they're touring so I was happy that they were happy.

"It's gonna be so sick. One of the legs already sold out. This is gonna be nuts. our production is gonna be crazy, too."

"I'm going to the San Diego show, in case you weren't informed."

His eyes lit up, "No way! You know that's my b-"

"-Birthday, I know." I shot him a smile and winked.

"Damn, you're coming out to the hometown show on my birthday. Best gift ever." His smiled looked like it couldn't end even if he tried.

Speaking of pressnts, I had no idea what I was gonna get him for his birthday and Christmas.
