My World is You

I woke up in my bed next to Vic, he had his arms wrapped around me and we were under my thick comforter, he seemed to have some sweat on his forehead. Was he hot? I’m freezing. How did we get to my house? I laid there and opened my eyes to see Vic staring at me.
“Vic what happened?” I asked
“You fell asleep out in the rain October.” He said
“Are you serious?” I asked
“Yes baby, I know you were upset but you went out and got yourself sick.” He said holding me close.
He was sweating; I took his shirt and pulled it up placing my bare hands on his chest.
“Cold.” He said
“But you’re fucking sweating.” I said
“It’s because I’m not sick and you are.” He said chuckling
“Take it off.” I said
He looked at me funny.
“Your shirt.” I said
He shook his head; I pulled the hem of his shirt up and made him take it off, I knew he was in his boxers because I could feel the hair on his legs against my smooth leg where my pants have moved up.
“Baby.” He said
“I’m not going to let you over heat while I’m freezing.” I said
I leaned my head back on the pillow and he pulled me closer into him.
“Te amo bebé.” He said in Spanish
“I love you too.” I said
He touched my forehead with his inner wrist after twenty minutes of silence.
“It’s seems to be going down a little. Are you up for a warm shower and some medicine with your lunch?” He asked
I nodded.
“I’ll help you up.” He said
He got out from under the covers and walked around the bed to help me out of it. He pulled the covers off and I was instantly cold.
“Please hurry before I freeze.” I laughed
He smiled and walked me into the bathroom, he started the shower and looked at me.
“Can you do the rest? I’ll go down and start lunch.” He said
“Yeah I can do it.” I said
He nodded and walked out of the bathroom closing the door behind him; I stripped down to by birthday suit and hopped into the hot water, it felt really nice. I washed my hair and pulled it back into a ponytail the girl that cuts my hair would kill me if she knew I did that. I stood there.
“I met a girl at seventeen, thought she meant the world to me so I gave her everything and she turned out to be a cheat. Said she’d been thinking for a long time and she found somebody new. I’ve been thinking this whole time. Girl, I never thought you’d stay, that’s okay. I hope he takes your filthy heart, and then he throws you away someday. Before you go, there’s one thing you oughta know. If you can’t hang than there’s the door, baby. If you can’t hang than there’s the door, baby.” I sang
I had a habit of singing random bits of songs all the time, even at work or in class.
“Hey that’s my song.” I heard from outside of the shower.
I pulled the curtain over a bit and looked into the bathroom.
“Seriously Kellin?” I asked
“Seriously what?” He asked
“I’m in the shower.” I said
“Vic told me to come up and see if you were alright and to tell you lunch was done.” He said
“So you come in while I’m in the shower?” I asked
“I didn’t think you’d mind, I mean your boyfriend is my best friend. What am I going to try?” He asked
“You have a point there Bostwick.” I said
He sent me a glare.
“Bug eyes.” I said
“What?” He answered “Oh wow why did I answer to that?” He questioned himself.
“Can you hand me the black towel?” I asked
He looked around and pulled the black towel off the rack and handed it to me. I held it outside of the shower and turned it off with my other hand. I pulled it into the shower with me and wrapped it around myself. I stepped out of the shower and Kellin was still standing there.
“How are you feeling?” He asked
“A little better. How many other people are down there?” I asked
“It’s just Vic, Mike and I.” He said
I nodded and walked past him into the bedroom, I grabbed a pair of sweats and a hoodie. I pulled underwear and a bra on and got dressed.
“Cute look for you October.” Kellin laughed
“Shut up.” I said
He smiled and we walked downstairs.
“Hey sickly, you better be better before your grad party.” Mike said
“I’ll try.” I said
“Here you go.” Vic said holding out his hand.
I held mine out and he dropped two little aspirin tablets into it, I walked over to the island counter and sat down. Mike passed me a water bottle and I took my medicine.
“So Vicky what’d you make us for lunch?” Mike asked
“Well Michael, I made October a grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. You can get whatever you want.” Vic said putting the food in front of me.
I smiled warmly and picked up a part of the grilled cheese, he had cut it into four pieces just the way I like it.
“Thanks for sending Kellin up to scare me while I was in the shower.” I said
“He wasn’t actually supposed to go into the bathroom but I can’t really control him with my mind anymore, he’s gone out of control.” Vic smiled
“Okay listen here I was knocking on the door but she was singing so she didn’t hear it so I thought ‘what the hell’ and walked in. She was singing If you Can’t Hang so I commented on it and then she basically scolded me for being in the bathroom so I explained why I was up there.” Kellin said defending himself.
“Bug eyes.” I said
“Yeah?” He answered “God damn it I gotta stop answering to that.” He added
Vic laughed. I finished my food.
“Go lay down on the couch baby and we’ll come in a start a movie.” Vic said putting my dishes in the sink.
I nodded and hopped off the barstool about falling over into Mike.
“Whoa can you walk by yourself?” He asked
“I can hobble.” I smiled
He laughed and they watched me hobble into the living room, my phone was on the coffee table. I laid down and grabbed it, I went to my messages and tried to send a message to Tony but every time I would type in ‘Turtle’ to get his contact to come up all the letters would be janky. I sighed and threw my phone across the room and the front door.
“Throwing it isn’t going to fix it Tober.” Mike said
I laughed and curled up into a ball, I waited a few and as if the universe was reading my mind the front door to my apartment opened and Tony and Jaime walked in.
“Turtle.” I whined
“Damn girl you look like shit.” Jaime laughed
“Jaime that’s not nice can’t you see she’s dying.” Tony said laughing as well
I shot them a glare and let my head drop on to the couch.
“Did you bring it?” I heard Vic asked
“Yes sir I did.” Tony said
“What’d you bring?” I asked
“The best thing we have in common.” Tony smiled
“Turtle did you bring Star Wars?” I asked
“Yes my dear October I did.” He said
I smiled and he popped the first on into the DVD player.
“Next time I get sick we better fucking watch all seven Harry Potter movies.” Mike whined
“Sir Whiskey Hands I will make sure of it.” I said
Everyone gathered into the living room and we settled into watch Star Wars episode one. I was using Vic’s thigh as a pillow, Tony was sitting on the floor in front of me, Jaime was sitting by my feet, Mike was sitting on the floor with his head near Vic’s knee, and Kellin was curled into a ball in the recliner chair.
