My World is You

I woke up the next morning without a hangover surprisingly. I was cuddled up to Ronnie and Ray was cuddled up to me. I stood up trying not to wake any one up and I walked into the kitchen and Vic was sitting there drinking coffee and eating a donut.
“Hey baby.” I whispered kissing him.
“Hey there.” He said
“How long have you been awake?” I asked pouring myself some Peach Mango Juice.
I have gotten addicted to this juice it’s by Welches and it’s not even funny there is like three bottles in the fridge at our house. Thankfully December’s kids like it and she had it.
“Only about twenty minutes. June woke me up to tell me her and Alan were leaving to go to his parents’ house. And then Mama called.” He said
“Ouh does Mama know?” I asked
“Nope, you, Mike and I are going to go over there later today and I’ll tell them the good news. Jaime’s mama knows but she promised to keep it from my parents. Jaime and Ronnie are going over there because Mama Preciado wants to meet Ronnie. I sent her a picture of Jaime and Ronnie slow dancing last night so she’s excited. Austin called and wants to take you out to dinner.” He said
“Carlile?” I asked
“Yeah.” He said
“Okay.” I said
I took a drink and smiled into the cup.
“Are you smiling at the juice?” He asked
I nodded and held the cup protectively to my chest.
“Do you want to head home and shower before we go to Mama’s house?” He asked
“Yeah.” I said
I finished my juice and he shoved the rest of the donut in his mouth. He had white powder everywhere on his face.
“Cute look for you.” I said
“Come give me a kiss.” He said after swallowing.
“No.” I said
“Please?” He asked
I shook my head but he grabbed my arm and pushed his lips to mine. The taste of powdered sugar flooded my mouth. I pulled away and used his shirt to wipe it off of my face.
“Now there is white powder on my shirt.” He said
“We’re going home.” I said
“Oh yeah.” He said
I smiled and we walked out into the living room and he kicked Mike who was spooning with the corner of the couch. Vic told him to be ready in about an hour. He groaned and cuddled back up to the couch. Vic and I walked out of December’s house and to my car, leaving our shoes there and he drove us home. When we walked in he went upstairs to shower and I went to the kitchen, I got the juice out and poured me some into a glass. I took the glass upstairs with me and I sat on our bed. The shower was running and Vic was humming a song that I didn’t recognize.
“I know you’re in the bedroom. Come join me.” Vic said
I groaned and got up and went and sat in the bathroom with him.
“Not in the bathroom. In the shower.” He said
“Nope.” I smiled
“Stubborn.” He said
He finished showering and stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel.
“I see you looking me up and down.” He said
“What?” I asked innocently
He laughed and we exited the bathroom.
“I miss my parents.” He said as we laid down in the bed.
“Well babe we’re going to see them soon.” I said
“I know.” He said
“Thank you.” I said
“For what?” He asked confused
“The best Christmas ever… it’s not every day a sexy Mexican comes out of a box and proposes to me.” I said
“If that were an everyday occurrence I think I’d be pretty mad that there were other Mexican’s going after my girl.” He said
I smiled and he kissed my cheek.
“Lets go.” He said
“Where?” I asked
“Mama’s. we’re going early.” He said
“Can I tell her?” I asked
“About the engagement?” He asked
I nodded.
“Oh course.” He said
I smiled and we got ready to go. Once we were in the car I got really nervous.
“Why are you nervous?” He asked
“It’s like you can read my mind baby. I’m just nervous about your dad.” I said
“Why?” He asked
“You know he doesn’t like me as much as mama does.” I said
“That’s because he’s a grumpy Mexican. He actually adores you he just won’t admit it.” He said
I relaxed a bit and we pulled into their driveway, we got out and walked up to the door hand in hand. Vic just walked in.
“Mama, Papa!” He called out
“Is that my Vic?” I heard Mama Fuentes say
“And October.” Vic said
Mama came in wearing a Christmas sweater and hugged him.
“Merry Christmas my darlings, you’re early.” She said
“We wanted to come early to tell you something.” Vic said
“What would that be?” She asked
She went to hug me and she saw my engagement ring.
“Is that what I think it is?” She asked
I smiled and she did as well.
“You’re finally going to be a Fuentes!” She yelled hugging me tightly
Papa Fuentes came in and saw the commotion
“What’s all the yelling about?” He asked
“We’re going to have a daughter-in-law.” Mama said
Papa smiled and pulled me into a big hug.
“Welcome to the Fuentes family.” He said
“Thank you, that means a lot.” I said
“How’d you do it Vic?” Mama asked
“I came out of a box kind of.” He said
“It was a big box and when I opened the walls of it fell and there he was kneeling on one knee with the ring. Best Christmas present ever.” I said
“To us too!” Papa said
Mike got there about an hour later and we had dinner and then Mama pulled me aside to talk.
“I’m so excited.” She said
“Why?” I asked
“You’re coming into the family.” She said
“Mama I thought I was already a part of the family.” I said
“You’ve been with us forever but now it’s serious. You’re marring my son darling.” She said
I hugged her.
“I can’t wait to marry your son.” I said
“I can’t wait for grandbabies.” She said
I laughed and she hugged me again, I yawned and Vic came up behind me.
“Mama I think we’re going to head home.” He said
She nodded and hugged us both, mike was asleep next to Papa and we went home
