My World is You

I was doing my usual lunch break which consisted of eating lunch at Chipotle with my sister May and my friend Lindsay.
“So how do you handle him barley being home because of touring?” Lindsay asked taking a bit of her Chicken Burrito.
I was pretty sure we had gone over this before.
“I busy myself with school, my job, my friends, and my family. I try not to be home.” I smiled
“Is that all we're good for?” May smiled dropping her fork into her bowl
“Heyyy Tober.” I head a familiar voice say
“Mike I oh so hate it when you call me Tober.” I said
“Well it is part of your name baby girl.” Vic said siting down and taking my food away from me.
“I know but I like Toby or you know October.” I said
“Well October is so weird.” Mike said
I rolled my eyes and then heard Tony and Jaime behind us. I laughed as Vic ate my lunch.
“You know that was my lunch.” I said
“You don't need it. I'm making dinner tonight.” Tony said
I laughed as Jaime and Tony sandwiched May and Lindsay together.
“Nooo we don't need and more of your weird creations.” Jaime said
“Hey a least I try my own food. You guys just order out.” Tony said
“I'll cook tonight guys.” Vic laughed
I smiled, Vic's cooking was amazing.
“So October after all the years we've known you and the many, many years you've been dating Vic. I've always wondered why your name is October.” Tony said
Seriously?
“Well Tone, all of my sisters are named after the month they were born in. I was born October twelfth so I'm October. May was born in May, and my four other sisters have month names too.” I said
“There is December, August, September, Me, October, and, June.” May said
“That’s a lot of girls. Don't you have brothers?” Mike asked
“The twins; Austin and Dallas. Guys you’ve known me forever shouldn’t you know my family by now?” I said
“So the girls are named after months and the boys are named after cities?” Jaime asked
I nodded and Vic fed me a bite of my food.
“So Vic you two have been together for six or seven years and you’re not married?” Lindsay asked
Tony, Mike and Jaime all burst out in laughter as Lindsay looked completely serious. I got up and picked up the pile of discarded Chipotle tins and walked them in the building to throw them away. That question has been on my mind for-fucking-ever, we started dating my freshman year along with Mike and Jaime, Vic was a sophomore and Tony was an eighth grader. I smiled at the thought of him being the youngest. Vic had asked me out at the last football game of the season but anyways Lindsay was off by a year Vic and I have been together for eight years and I’d love for him to ask me to marry him but you know he’s a rock star so stuff has to be put a side. I walked back out and sat next to Vic and Lindsay and May were intently staring at me.
“May I help you two?” I asked
Lindsay got up. “I’ve got to head back to class.” She said
She walked to her pink Volkswagen Bug and drove off.
“Her car is ridiculous.” Tony said
“Yeah but we love her.” May said
“Sometimes.” I smiled
May’s phone started to play the Halloween theme song.
“Why are you calling me?” She asked
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and hung up.
“Because this phone is a piece of shit.” I said slamming it on the table
“I offered to buy you a different phone, but you had to be all stubborn about it babe.” Vic said
“I don’t want my boyfriend to have to buy me a phone, plus I’m on a different plan.” I said
He kissed my cheek.
“Whatever Miss. Stubborn Pants. I’ll see you at Tony’s tonight. I love you.” He said
I smiled. “I love you too.” I said
“Bye Tober!” Mike yelled
“Michael!” I yelled
“It’s Mike.” He frowned
“That’s not what your signature on your license says. It says Michael.” I said
He stuck his tongue out and I returned the gesture but that resulted in Jaime grabbing my tongue.
“You love to do this to me huh Jaime?” I asked him still having a hold on my tongue
“Only to you babes.” He said kissing my cheek and going to Vic’s car.
Vic was waiting on Tony who was now flirting with May.
“May you're younger than October right?” He asked
“No, I’m a few months older than Vic.” She said
“Damn it.” He said
“I’ll see you tonight Oct.” He said prancing to Vic’s car.
“He’s a cute kid.” May said
“Yeah.” I said
“Well little sis Logan keeps texting me about Oliver so I feel I should go help him.” She said looking at me
“How is it that your husband can’t take care of a two year old but I can take care of December’s kids, and your baby?” I asked
“He’s a boy. I’ll see you at your graduation party next week.” She smiled
I hugged my sister goodbye and headed to my car I got in and sat there. I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel and my promise ring glistened in the sun. Vic gave is to me my senior year before he went on his first tour. I love you October, I’m giving you this promise ring in a promise that you will always be mine and I will always be yours. You will be on my mind this entire tour. I love you. I could hear him saying it, I did love Vic but things get rough. I started my car and drove to Tony’s house, on the way there, there was a jackass driving fifteen miles under the speed limit and it pissed me off. I thought about my graduation party that was a week away and then my birthday a week after that. This year was going by pretty fast, I pulled into Tony’s driveway and Vic came running out of the house and towards me. He was a pretty small guy but he was bigger than me by five inches, he ran up to me and picked me up and spun me around.
“Hey baby.” I said as he put me down.
“How was the drive here?” He asked kissing me
“It was okay; I contemplated murdering the man driving fifteen under the speed limit.” I smiled
“I love your road rage.” He smiled.
I kissed him and then it started to pour down rain, I looked up and put my hands up and spun around like they did in the movies. Vic stopped me and pulled my soaked body to his and kissed me.
“Why is it raining in October, why can’t this be snow?!” I yelled
“Let’s go in before you get sick.” He said taking my hand.
I locked my car and we walked in.
“Whoa what happened?” Tony asked as we walked in.
“It started to rain.” I said as I pulled my shirt off.
“Tony can I borrow a shirt?” I asked
“Look at that sexy girl!” I heard Mike yell.
“Yeah you can borrow one, you know where they are.” Tony smiled
I looked at Vic who had stripped down and was already in a pair of Tony’s sweat pants.
“Victor it’s sad that your girlfriend has more tattoo’s than you do.” Jaime said
I smiled, I only had two tattoos but they boys always made fun of him because I had some and he didn’t.
“Really I only have two.” I said “And one’s for you guys.” I added
I have a Pierce the Veil tattoo on my hip.
“But the other one is awesome.” Tony said
“A tree?” I asked
“Yeah a tree up your back is pretty epic.” Jaime said
“Okay well I’m standing in your living room shirtless so I’ll be right back.” I said
“I’ll join.” Vic said
“Vic, down boy.” Mike said holding Vic’s arm back
I laughed and walked up to Tony’s room, I opened up his closed and grabbed a random tank top. I threw it on and walked back down to the kitchen where Vic was plating some Mexican food. One of the good things about dating a Mexican guy; Mexican food. I laughed and walked over to Mike.
“Hey girly.” He said hugging me.
My hair was still soaked so I pulled it back into a pony tail.
“Sit! Food is ready!” Tony yelled
I sat down and Tony sat on one side of me and Vic on the other. Tony handed out the quesadillas, they were cheese but he had some odd creation of sorts for himself. He was a vegan. We all ate dinner and Mike looked at Vic and Vic looked at Jaime and Jaime looked at Tony.
“What are you guys looking at each other like that?” I asked
“Well we have something unpleasant to say, and something fun to say.” Vic said
“Well fun news first.” I said
“Well we are going to play at your graduation party and we have someone coming to play you something as well at your birthday.” Mike said
“Who?” I asked
“I guess you’ll find out babes.” Jaime said
“Baby the bad news is that we’ll be leaving for tour the day after your birthday.” Vic said
“When will you be coming back?” I asked
“Seventeenth of February.” Tony said
“So I’m going to be alone for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and, Valentine’s Day?” I asked
“Sadly yes, but we have a show on New Year’s Eve right around the corner babe. It’s sold out but you’ll be back stage. There’s going to be a big screen so we can watch the ball drop.” Vic said taking my hand in his.
“Okay Vic. Guys can you do the dishes, I can’t tonight.” I said getting up.
I dropped my dish in the sink and walked out the back door of Tony’s house. I walked into the yard and started kicking random things, it was still raining but I didn’t care. I didn’t think that I’d have to be alone for most of the holidays this year. I know I should be happy for them but it just saddens me that my boyfriend and other friends aren’t going to be here with me. I mean I guess I could always stay at my sister’s house or my mom’s house. If I’m desperate enough my brother’s house, I shook all the thoughts out of my head because I knew that I was being selfish. I looked up at the sky that was crying down on me and I sighed and sat my ass down in the wet grass. I don’t know how I did it but I fell asleep.
