Bulletproof Love

Ellie's POV - 1 week later

I was woken up by the sound of crying coming from the baby monitor on my bedside table. I groaned loudly and so did Jaime, we were both so tired from being up all night everyday.

"I'll get him!" I said sleepily and sat up. Jaime rolled over and looked at me.

"I need to get up anyway, duty calls!" He smiled.

"What you doing today then?" I asked curiously. I had no idea what he was up to but I'm going dress shopping today with Erin and my mum so that should be exciting.

"Just out with the guys!" He smirked. He was hiding something from me and he knew it was annoying me. I narrowed my eyes at him playfully.

"What are you up to mr?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You'll find out eventually!" He smiled and got out of bed leaving me totally confused, I hate it when he keeps things from me. I groaned again as I heard Jacob crying and got up.
I went into Jacobs room and saw him laying in his cot, he looked at me with his big blue eyes.

"Are you not sleepy anymore bud?" I said in my baby voice. He just stared at me, so basically I'm talking to myself, I just laughed at myself. I picked him up and held him in my arms, he wasn't heavy at all. I then walked downstairs to see what my other 2 were up to.
I saw Jaime and Megan cuddled up on the sofa while watching spongebob squarepants. They are typical children, both of them.

"So I'm going dress shopping today, do you want to come with me or go with daddy?" I asked Megan.

"What's daddy doing?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders slightly.

"Asked him, I have no idea!" I replied.

"Daddy what are you doing today?" She asked him. He looked at me and smiled. He then whispered into her ear and I saw her smile widen until it looked painful.

"I wanna go with daddy!!" She grinned. I was now confused, what was that man up to that he won't tell me? They both looked at me with innocent smiles when they saw how confused I looked.

"Just tell me what you're up to, it's annoying that you tell everyone else except me!" I whined like a baby. He laughed at me and walked towards me.

"You'll be last to find out babe!" He smirked and left the room. I sighed and went to get changed for my day ahead.
I had gotten Jacob all ready and changed then put him back in his cot while I got changed myself. I had picked out an outfit easy to take off and on as I'll be trying on many dresses today. I put on a simple t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans, easy enough. I put on my usual makeup and then I was all set to go. Jacob had fallen asleep again in his cot, I felt bad for waking him up but he had to come with me. I gently picked him up and he started to cry.

"Shh, baby don't cry!" I said calmly and swayed him back and forth gently. He eventually calmed down and I headed downstairs again. I was meeting my mum and Erin at a wedding dress shop we found while me and Erin went shopping a few days ago. It was small but cute so I decided to try the dresses on in there, plus they're not expensive so I can actually afford them.

"Okay, I'm now off! Please be good, both of you!" I said to them, "and whatever you're up to, don't get in trouble or anything!" I added. Who knows what they're up to, they could be doing anything for all I know.

"We'll see you later Ellie!" Jaime said. I leaned down to peck his lips then kissed Megan forehead.

"Bye!" I shouted and left the house not really waiting for an answer because I probably wouldn't have gotten one, they'd be to engrossed in the TV.
I strapped Jacob in his car seat securely, hopped in the car myself and drive off. I was really excited for going dress shopping, it makes all of this feel more real, like I'm getting married in a few months, that's so crazy. If you would have asked me a few years ago what my life would be like now, I'd probably say that I'd be single and alone with Megan, I would've never thought that I'd be getting married with 2 kids. It was surreal to me but extremely exciting.
I was driving to the wedding dress shop and I just arrived, I parked nearby and got out. I got Jacob out and placed him in the baby carrier. I saw Erin and my mum waiting outside the shop for me.

"Hey!" I smiled with a smile as I walked up to them.

"Hey, you excited?!" Erin grinned like a little child, she's such a big child.

"Extremely!" I replied.

"Let's go then!" My mum smiled and we all walked into the shop. The shop was surprisingly big, gorgeous dresses everywhere.

"Where's Megan by the way?" My mum asked.

"She's with Jaime, he's up to something and won't tell me, do any of you know anything?" I asked. Erin's eyes widened but she quickly covered it by looking away from me, she knows something.

"Erin you tell me what he's up to now!" I said with a frown.

"I can't, me and Tony promised we wouldn't speak a word about it to you, even if I want to!" She explained. I let out a frustrated groan and walked away, this is annoying now.
I walked around the shop and there was so many beautiful wedding dresses everywhere, I didn't know where to begin. One dress spotted my eye though, I picked it up and smiled. It was a long strapless dress with gems at the top and plain at the bottom, it was simple yet elegant.

"That's gorgeous, try it on!" Erin said excitedly from behind me. I smiled and walked into the changing room. I got undressed and slipped the dress on. It was pretty but I just didn't suit me, it didn't give me the wow factor like I wanted it too, this is going to take longer than I thought. I felt slightly disappointed, I thought that the dress was lovely but I just wasn't right. I walked out with it on and they both gasped, they saw my frown and asked what's wrong.

"This isn't the one!" I said.

"Why?" My mum asked.

"It just doesn't stand out for me!" I shrugged and went back into the changing room. When I was finished I handed the dress to a lady and went looking around again.
I had tried on 5 other dress and none of them did it for me, I wanted one that really made me gasp but it didn't seem like I was going to find it.
As I was walking around I saw a dress, I hadn't seen before so I picked it up. It was beautiful, it was strapless like the first one I tried on, it was pure white and it was long and flowy, it was practically like the first one but it had a spiral pattern on the top part.
I walking to the changing room for what felt like the 20th time today and got changed into the dress. As I slipped it on I gasped, I was shocked for words. It was so beautiful. It fitted me perfectly, like it was specifically made for me. I walked out to show Erin and my mum and they both knew in that moment they saw it, that this dress was the one.

"I love it so much!! I want this one!" I grinned widely with excitement.

"It suits you perfectly!" My mum smiled. I even saw a few tears in her eyes as well, bless her. This dress was the one for me. Erin couldn't stop smiling when she looked at me in it.
I then brought some bridesmaid dresses that would go well with my wedding dress. They were a pale purple colour, they were simple but they were so beautiful, Erin loved them. I even asked her to be my maid of honour which she said yes to immediately, she was just as excited as me.

I had brought the dress and I was so ecstatic about it. I'm now all ready for this wedding to happen and I want it to hurry up so I can just marry that man.
I drove home with Jacob, I gave the dress to my mum to look after so I know that it's in safe hands. Jacob was fast asleep in the car so the drive home was peaceful and gave me some time for myself for the first time in a long long time. Not that I'm complaining but when you have 2 kids, you don't get much time to yourself very much.
I arrived back home and saw that Jaime's car was in the driveway so I knew he was home. I jumped out, gently picked up Jacob without waking him up and went in the house. It's weird that I call this house my home now, I always imagined that I would've lived in my house for the rest of my life.

"Hey baby!" Jaime smiled as I entered the house.

"Hey!" I replied. He then kissed me which made me smile.

"How was the shopping, any success?" He asked sweetly. I nodded my head happily.

"Yes, I found the perfect dress for me!!" I said excitedly "I can't wait for you too see it!" I added and he smiled.

"I'm sure you look beautiful in it!" He said and I blushed, I hate the fact that after all this time of being together, he can still make me blush like a little girl.

"I still have the charm!" He winked as he saw my rosy cheeks.

"Yes okay, you can still make me blush now shut up!" I whined but he just chuckled at me.

"Mummy! Mummy! Did you find a dress?" Megan asked as she came running in looking all excited.

"I sure did!" I smiled.

"You'll be a pretty princess like me!!" She squealed.

"She sure will!" Jaime smiled and I smiled back.

Jaime's acting weird, he's being really affectionate and giving me more compliments since I got back from shopping, it's worrying to know what that man is up too. For the rest of the day all of us just chilled at home and watched films. Jaime kept kissing me and hold me closer to him, it's driving me crazy about not knowing what he's hiding from me, I really want to know. Even Megan kept smiling at me and giggled whenever Jaime kissed me, them two are worrying me a lot now, I just want to know what they're planning.
