Finally.
Jaime's POV - next day
I woke up in a the really uncomfortable hospital chair that I fell asleep on beside Ellie's bed, these chairs are not for sleeping on at all. I stretched a little and looked around the room, Megan was asleep next Ellie like usual, Josh and Ellie's parents were asleep on another chairs around the bed and the other guys went home last night. I stood up and looked at the clock on the wall.
10:00am
That's early for me. I sighed and went to get some coffee from the coffee machine outside of Ellie's room. I decided to get everyone coffee and Megan a small bottle of coke. When I got back I saw that Josh and Megan had woken up.
"Hey" Josh yawned as I walked in the room.
"Hey, how'd you sleep?" I said to both of them as I passed them both their drinks.
"Awful, these damn chairs are so uncomfortable!" He moaned.
"I know, I didn't sleep to well either" I replied, "and how about you princess, how did you sleep?" I asked Megan as I perched myself down next to her.
"Good" She said, "I like sleeping next to mummy, I feel happy" She added, that made me smile.
"I know you do princess, I'm sure mummy loves having you by her side too" She smiled then after Ellie's parents woke up.
"Morning everyone" John said. Everyone mumbled a morning back. I handed them two their coffees, earning smiles and thankyou's from them both in reply. I sat back down in the chair I had slept on and sipped my coffee. There was a silence until Josh broke it.
"Do you think she'll wake up anytime soon?"
"I seriously hope so" I replied with a bit of desperation in my voice.
"The doctor did say she should so I'm hoping" He shrugged. It's been a few days since the doctor said that and I'm starting to doubt him a little bit, but we have to all think positive for Ellie's sake. Then Megan's parents both stood up.
"We're just going to speak to the doctor quickly, just to ask some questions" May said to us, we all nodded and they both left the room. I was just sitting there staring at Ellie, it's been too long, see should be awake by now. I heavily sighed and Josh seemed to noticed.
"She'll wake up soon I'm certain" He said.
"I really hope you're right Josh"
"I am" He smiled confidently. Megan was just sitting on Ellie's bed sipping her Coke, then I heard the heart monitor speed up a little bit. I was worried, I didn't know if that was a good or bad thing. Then I looked over to Ellie to see her arm moving a little.
"Ellie!?" I said as I took her hand in mine. Josh looked a really excited and Megan looked utterly confused but I saw glimpse of joy in her eyes. I felt her hand twitch in my hand, I looked up to her face and saw that her eyes were twitching too. Then in that moment her eyes lids fluttered open very slowly. I saw her beautiful green eyes for the first time in over 2 months.
"Ellie, I can't believe you're finally awake" I basically shouted feeling so happy.
"Mummy, Mummy!!" She squealed as she saw Ellie wake up too.
"Mmm, my head hurts" She croaked as she placed a hand on her head. God I've missed her voice.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"I ache a lot, Jaime w-what happened?" She asked as she started looking around the room, "and why am I in hospital?" She asked looking confused and worried. I sighed a little.
"You were in a serious car accident" I looked at her and she looked shocked.
"W-what?" She said, not really taking in what I said.
"Ellie, you were in a car accident on the way home from work over 2 months ago" Josh said.
"I've been out for over 2 months?" She asked looking completely shocked.
"Yeah you have" I replied with a sad smile. Then her parents walked in, when they saw that Ellie was awake May went a little crazy.
"Oh my god darling, you're finally awake!" May squeal as she ran over to Ellie's bed. John just walked over casually but with a massive grin on his face. I can't imagine how happy they must be feeling right now.
"Hey mum and dad" She forced a slight smiled. You can tell from her face it still hurts slightly when she talks.
"How are you sweetie?" John asked his daughter.
"I'm okay I guess, I've been better" She shrugged but smiled.
"You gave us all a big scare darling!" May said.
"Sorry" She replied sadly.
"Don't be sorry it wasn't your fault Ellie" I said. She just nodded but still looked upset.
"I missed you loads mummy" Megan suddenly said as she looked at Ellie.
"Oh baby, I missed you loads too!" She said sadly, "I won't ever leave you like this again, I promise" She added and kissed her forehead, that made Megan grin from ears to ear. Ellie tried to move but when she moved her leg she winced in pain.
"Stop moving Ellie, you need to get lots of rest" Josh said to her.
"I've been resting for 2 months, why am I still like this?" She huffed.
"Because you've only been in a coma, so you can't move a lot, okay?" He said, she just nodded slightly in reply.
Ellie's POV
I was in a car accident? Well fuck. I don't even remember anything about it, is that bad? Wouldn't you think I would remember at least some of what has happened? Obviously not because don't remember a single thing. I mentally sighed. My chest hurts real bad, when I breathe I feel loads of shooting pain in my chest, isn't this just great? Everyone were so happy that I finally was awake, they were all asking me question and seeing if I was okay, but I wasn't really concentrating at all, this was all just a lot to take in.
How could I not remember being in a car accident?
~~~2 weeks later~~~~
I am finally allowed to go home, hallajugh. I've hated this place so much. For the last 2 weeks of being awake I genuinely wished I was still unconscious, everyone is driving me insane. I know i'm injured and that i need a little bit of help from time to time but everyone's treating me like a little baby and I'm actually getting sick of it. The guys and even the nurses are asking if I'm okay every 5 minutes, my mum and dad won't let me do absolutely anything for myself because they think I might 'hurt myself', I think Megan is the only one I'm not sick of right now, all she does is cuddle me and tell me she loves me a lot. I don't mean to sound rude or ungrateful because I am grateful that I have them all to looking out and caring for me but I feel like I'm being smoother by them all.
When the rest of the Pierce The Veil guys came to visit me when I was finally awake, they were all excited to see me especially Tony. The guys told me about how Jaime and Ellie wouldn't leave the hospital unless they were forced too and that made me feel loved, I never realised how much Jaime actually cared about me until I was told that.
I was sat on the edge of my bed ready to stand up for the first time in nearly 3 months. I'm scared about standing up if I'm quite honest but no one was in my room at this moment so I took this as an opportunity to do something for myself without anyone helping or telling to stop before I hurt myself.
If your wondering why I'm so nervous about standing up, it's because I hurt my leg pretty badly in the car accident and the doctors said that I might not be able to walk on it for the first few weeks and that I need to be extra careful but my leg seems to be healing fine so I'm attempting to stand. I put both feet on the floor, slowly pushed myself off the bed, I then grabbed hold of the side of the bed to keep myself supported and stood up very gently. I smiled to myself, I was finally standing up, all by myself.
"I'm proud of you" I jumped, not expecting anyone to be here. I looked round and saw Josh standing in the doorway watching me with a smile.
"Why are you proud of me?" I asked.
"Because I know you hate all of this, everyone babying you every second but I'm proud that you finally did that by yourself" He smiled, he walked over to me and pulled me into a big hug.
"Thank-you Josh, I'm grateful that you all care about me but not every 5 minutes asking if I'm okay, a girl needs to breathe and not be smoothered, geez" I joked which made him laugh. Then Jaime entered the room with Megan in his arms.
"Your standing?" He smiled widely.
"All by myself" I said proudly. He walked over to me, placed Megan on the floor and hugged me tightly.
"I love you" He whispered into my ear, his hot breath on my neck gave me a shiver down my spine.
"I love you too, but can I leave now I hate this place?" I asked. He chuckled at my eagerness to leave and nodded.
"Yes, I signed you out just now. Your mum and dad have left and the guys are at my house" He said.
"Okay, let's goooo" I said happily. I picked up my bag but Jaime took it off me and said he would take it for me which I'm not going to argue with. Slowly and gently I walked out of this place that i've basically lived in for 3 months with the others beside me.
I'm over the moon to see the back of this place and I never want to return for any reason.
