Curtains Close; Take a bow. I think we fooled all of them now.
Chapter 67 - No One Wants To Hear You
Rain's POV
A tear rolled down my cheek as I looked into the eyes of the young boy that thought of me as his mother. He looked at me, confused and frightened. His legs shook slightly, and the wind blew his hair over his cheek.
"Hold on Rain." Oli pleaded. He lifted me up from the wet soil and carried me.
Hanley stumbled behind us. He started crying out now, reacting to Oli's panic. He kicked up leaves and tripped over logs. His trousers were muddy and wet, his hands were dirty and his nose was red from the cold. I was watching him over Oli's shoulder.
When we got back to the house, he kicked open the door and laid me down on the sofa. His removed most of my wet clothes and wrapped me in a blanket. He ran me a steamy hot bath and continued to ask me questions to which I didn't respond.
Hanley sat in front of me on the floor. He starred at me, his eyes gleaming and body shivering.
"Why were you out in the forest mommy?" He quietly asked me.
I flashed my eyes at him before closing them tightly. I couldn't feel the wrest of my body.
"Baby. Please." Oli whispered beside me.
I opened my eyes again. He must have carried me into the bathroom and laid me down in the warm water.
"It's okay..." I shuddered, the hot waters steam making it difficult to breathe.
"But the baby." He stopped and placed his hand on my stomach.
I sadly looked down. "I'm sorry Oli. I don't want it."
