Curtains Close; Take a bow. I think we fooled all of them now.
Chapter 51 - The Sky, It Burns Itself Out
Rain's POV
I've never slept so well in my life. Hanley hadn't even woken up once. I was so relaxed and so happy here. Oli was laid next to me, still fast asleep. I kissed his cheek and tapped myself out of bed and out into the living room.
"Hello?" I quietly whispered, checking if Danny was up yet.
No reply.
I opened the fridge. Nothing. I opened the cupboards. Cans of soup. I had had enough of soup from when Oli was feeding it to me earlier this year. And now it was all we had. I closed the cupboard gently and tried to stand back and relax.
I heard someone sniffing outside the back door. I hesitated slightly, peaking my head around to face the window. I could only see half of the person, and it seemed that it was a male, quite tall and slender with very pale skin. He was shivering, which made me feel uncomfortable and immediately went to open the door to him.
I slid out the lock. "Hello? Can I help you?"
"Ah." He had an accent. "I'm looking for Danny." I think he was danish.
"Danny?" I said, slightly surprised.
"Yes. I wait here all morning. I apologize if this makes you uncomfortable." His english was errored in some areas.
"What's your name?" I asked, examining his fine features and petite mouth.
"Anthony. Yes. Tell him Anthony is here." He smiled at me, flashing me his straight, white teeth.
I nodded and was about to close the door on him, when I saw him shiver again in the cold. Noticing he was only wearing a thin shirt and some jeans, I gathered him inside and started to boil a kettle.
"Danny." I yelled from behind his bedroom door.
"What..." He said muffled, sounding provoked to have been woken up.
"There's someone here for you."
"Tell em to fuck off! I ain't here." He chipped, letting it fall to silence.
"But it looks like this guy has traveled a long way, just to see you. And he doesn't have much on him to get back. I've let him in regardless, Danny." I softly mumbled, trying not to add fuel to the fire.
"What's their name?" He replied, after some thinking.
"Anthony. Do you know an Anthony?" I continued to question. He fell dead silent, I thought he must not know the guy. I slammed my feet to walk away from the door. Taking tiny, sleepy steps back towards the living room I heard Danny burst out of his room and shove me backwards.
"Why is he here!?" He shouted at me, peering over my shoulder to see if he could spot him. "You can't talk to him."
"Why not?" I said, slightly agitated.
"Because. Go into your room. Go look after Hanley or something." He bitterly scowled at me. "I need to talk to this guy on my own."
