Austin's POV:

"I'm going out," the words pored flatly from Lani's lips as she bluntly ripped the keys off the kitchen counter top and slammed out the door. She moved so swiftly and quickly I didn't even have a moment to react. The guys must have heard the door slam because they all came shuffling out in their pyjamas.

"What the fuck did you do to her now?" Phil joked.

"It wasn't me dude!" I defended myself.

"I'm sure," Tarni snarled at me as she clung to Alan.

"Mike fucking cheated on her with that Deeanne girl who's working with you both in the tent," I spat jumping up from the couch. Tarni threw her hands over her mouth and without another word ran out of the room, going to give Mike a piece of her mind I presume.

"Where did Lani go man?" I shrugged my shoulders at Phil's question.

"She left in a hurry without telling me where," I sulked.

"You didn't follow her?" Alan yelled. Yelled?

"Calm down," I spat.

"Dude! Austin she has no idea where she's going and she's fucking upset! Look what happened when her and Mike were fighting the car on the way here! She's driving that fucking monster of a Jeep right now and she's probably doing at least fifty kilometres over the limit!" his words were like a slap across the face waking me up.

"Fuck," I mumbled, "How could I let her walk out that door," I pulled myself from the couch and ran to the elevator and pushed the button at least six times. Aaron stood beside me frantically tapping his foot on the floor and Phil cracked his knuckles nervously.

"Guys stop, you're little twitchy habits are making me feel worse," Alan mumbled.

"Sorry," they muttered in unison. Ding, the elevator arrived but as we were about to pile in the room down the hallways door opened up filling the hotel with yells stopping us from stepping in.

"It's not my fault!" a girls squeaky voice wailed. Dee, I thought.

"Not your fault? Are you fucking kidding me? You were her best friend in there I heard so many good things about you taking care of Lani in there and then you do this?!" Tarni's voice roared as she stepped backwards out of the hotel room.

"Tarns, quit it baby. Come help us find Lani," Alan grabbed at her arm and pulled her towards the elevator where Tino held it open. We all stepped in and clicked the ground floor button but as the doors were sliding closed a tattooed hand slipped in opening the doors once again.

Mike.

"What do you want?" I spat, the sight of him made me sick.

"I want to help you guys find her," Mike's eyes were drowned with sorrow. Why was he sad, he was the one who fucked up. He's not allowed to be worried about her, it's his fault she went off like this!

"No," I growled.

"Come on Austin, it's his girlfriend," Alan tried to reason.

"The hell she is still with him," it was Tarni who raged now.

"What she said," I muttered under my breath. Mike stepped in anyway against Tarni and I's protest and the doors finally closed.

Leilani's POV:

I looked down at my wrist to check my watch. Twelve o'clock on the dot. I sighed heavily and clumsily lifted myself from the bar I've been sitting at since nine thirty this morning. I needed to get back to the hotel so I could go to the concert although in this condition I wouldn't be able to work at the tent. As my feet collided with the floor my legs felt like they were going to give. I felt a hand catch my arm and steady me. I looked up to the older man who was serving me drinks all morning.

"You're not driving yourself home are you?" he asked obviously concerned. I shook my head no.

"Nope," I popped the 'p' as I slurred the word, "My friends are coming to get me," he sighed at my comment.

"Friends wouldn't let friends get wasted in the middle of the day," he joked.

"Boyfriends wouldn't cheat on you to make you get wasted in the middle of the day but they do anyway," I retorted at his joke, a look of worry spread across his face but I brushed it off. I pushed his hand off of me and stumbled out the door. I searched the street for the black Jeep but I couldn't find it between the haze in my eyes. I rummaged through my bag and found the keys clicking on its remote to unlock the doors and as I did it's lights flashed.

"There you are," I whispered to myself as I stumbled across the icy street. I leaped into the drivers seat trying to put the key in the ignition. I missed a few times but I got it eventually letting the engine roar to life. I hiccuped before putting the car in drive and without looking at what cars were coming in what direction I pulled out into the slippery street.

Beeeeeeeep.

The honk of a horn sounded and I slammed on my breaks abruptly. My head slammed against the steering wheel and as I sat back up I felt a warm liquid slide down my face. I brought my hand up to my forehead and touched it lightly trying not to put too much pressure on my sore spot. I looked back down at my fingers at the red liquid that dripped onto my pants. I shrugged, it was nothing, I said sorry to the other driver out the window. Luckily there was no contact between cars. He threw his hands around the front of his car before speeding off down the street. I drove off down the street without putting my seat belt on back to the hotel. Well at least I thought I would make it to the hotel.

My head started to thump from the bang on the steering wheel and more liquid pored from the gash. I looked to the rear view mirror to investigate how bad it was. The gash started at my eyebrow and nearly made it to my hairline and was about as thick as my pinky finger. The blood nearly made me hurl as I realised I was swerving off the road. I pulled the wheel back and adjusted where I was on the road. More cars beeped at me, I flicked them off and kept driving towards the traffic lights.

The lights flashed yellow but I didn't slow down, I wanted to go home. They flashed red but I still kept driving. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw Tarni standing in the middle of the road and a car with all the boys piled in it behind her. Why were they here? I slammed on my breaks realising what I was doing as Tarni watched on in horror but I was too late. I looked to the side of me as a gigantic truck came flying towards the other side of the car its horn honking for me to move but I wasn't fast enough.

"Fuck," and that was the last word I said before I blacked out.

Austin's POV:

We'd been driving around Auckland since ten this morning and it was now just past twelve. We'd stopped in at shops, gas stations, bars, nail salons, fast food restaurants, god we'd been everywhere and couldn't find her. Tino drove down the busy streets and pulled into different places as we'd spotted them.

"Maybe she's back at the hotel," Tarni sighed. I shook my head.

"She can't be, I know she's out here," my voice cracked as I worried about Lani.

"Let's just go back Tino," Mike mumbled, giving up. Tino turned the car around back in the direction of the hotel no matter how much I protested.

"You're all giving up on her, what kind of people does that make us? Look what happened last time we couldn't find her, she nearly got raped!" I pleaded.

"Not nearly," Mike corrected.

"What?" I was shocked.

"She got raped she just didn't tell you," he bluntly explained.

"Why wouldn't she tell us?" Tarni whimpered.

"Because none of you were there for her the day she got arrested. She told me because I was there. Just like you weren't there today to stop her from getting herself into this," his words fuelled a rage inside of me.

"SHE WOULDN'T BE OUT HERE IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU, YOU CHEATING BASTARD! YOU NEVER DESERVED HER! I KNEW YOU'D DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS!" I choked at the collar of his shirt from across the seat. Alan pulled me back trying to calm me. Mike had nothing to respond with, he knew this was his fault. We pulled up to a set of traffic lights that had turned amber and Tino started to break. I looked forward at the car in front of us surprised it wasn't slowing down and noticed it was Lani. I could see her blue hair through the tinted windows.

"GUYS!" I screamed, they all stared at me but I pointed to the car in front of me and they all followed my direction.

"It's Lani!" Tarni bounced in her seat. But just as quickly stopped bouncing as she noticed Leilani wasn't slowing down.

"What is she doing?!" Tino screamed.

"Fuck," Mike sobbed as we watched Lani run straight through the red light.

Tarni opened the door as we stopped in traffic. Tarni stood dead in the middle of the road as we all watched on as the car, and Lani, got pulverised by an oncoming truck. In that moment my heart sank as the car disappeared underneath the trucks massive wheels. I watched blankly as Tarni dropped to her knees. I pulled myself out of the car and started to run towards the scene screaming out her name but I was stopped by the explosion of fire that came from the truck.

People from every direction filed out of their cars pulling out their phones and calling emergency services. I turned away back to the car as the tears welled in my eyes. I let them slide down my face, I couldn't hold them back very long. As I walked towards our car I picked Tarni up from the ground and hugged her. Her head slung over my shoulder as we stood in the middle of the road tangled in each others arms. We sobbed together before Tarni's ear piercing scream filled my ears.

"Leilani's crawling out from under the truck!" Tino yelled as he ran towards us. I turned to see what I thought couldn't be true but low and behold Lani laid crawled up in a ball on the seared tarmac in front of the fire. She looked almost unharmed.

Almost.

Notes

So this chapter was really hard to write, like wording the car accident and how it happened and stuff but this is how it ended up.

What's going to happen to Lani?!?
