Fresh Start Fever

Speak Of The Devil

Austin's POV:`

'Later' the word ran circles in my mind over and over. It was later and Lani still hadn't tried to talk to me but then again I hadn't tried to talk to her either. We'd been in Sydney for hours now and were already checked into the hotel yet there was still no sign of her and I just moped in my bed. I looked down at my hands as my fingers fiddled with her ring. A loud knock came at the door and I shoved the ring back in my pocket.

"Austin?" Aaron's voice pleaded through the door, "Come out man, we're all going out for a drink. Maybe you could talk to Lani," he tried to coax me into going out. I sighed in defeat.

"Fine, I'll be out in five," I reluctantly threw on a black v-neck t-shirt and some black dress pants and grabbed my coat and leather shoes. I ran my hands through my hair spiking it at the tips and walked out the door and walked into the kitchen where everyone was waiting.

"Uh is anything in your closet not black?" Lani laughed and everyone joined in.

"Yeah mate, you trying to match your clothing with your mood?" Tino laughed along, Aaron shot him a glare.

"So what if I am," I snapped and they all stopped laughing and they looked away returning to their conversations without me. I looked over to Lani, she was the only person who didn't look away. I stared into her heavy eyes as she stared back as I waited for her to say something. Her lips parted but she stopped and closed them again and walked away from behind the kitchen bench revealing her toned stomach and long, sleek legs underneath her black shorts and white, lace crop top. I was about to make a snide comment about her lack of colour but her blue shoes and matching braided hair popped against her pale skin.

"Lani," my voice caused a silence in the room and you could cut the awkwardness in the air with a knife. She turned back from opening the door and looked at me.

"Hmm?" she hummed.

"You, uh. You look stunning," she looked to the floor as she blushed at my words bringing a small smile to my lips.

"And you don't look so bad in black," she confessed as she walked out the door and everyone followed but not before flashing me smiles, thumbs up and numerous winks.

"Here goes nothing," I whispered as I followed the group out the door.

Leilani's POV:

We'd been at the club for hours and my vision was certainly impaired and so apparently was my ability to think because I was pushed up against the wall near the bathrooms with my tongue shoved down the throat of some random but totally attractive guy. As he deepened the kiss I couldn't help but think about someone.

Austin.

I pushed away breaking the kiss startling him. He looked down at me smiling and strangely it made the butterflies in my stomach riot and crave more of his whiskey flavoured lips forcing me to completely forgetting about Austin. I pushed up on the ball of my heels and reached my arms around his neck and gripped at the ends of his hair. He groaned against my lips and pushed his body closer to mine. This time it was his turn to pull away but only to place his succulent lips against my neck.

"My place or yours?" he whispered against my neck. Was I really going to do this?

"Your place," I groaned as he sucked harder at my neck. He pulled away and gripped my hand in his as we turned to leave the club.

"My place it is then. What's your name?" he wondered.

"Leilani but you can just call me Lani," he smiled down at me.

"I'm gunna call you Leilani," he grinned with his teeth and I blushed, "it's such a pretty name, it matches your pretty face," he winked once again making my stomach flutter. How could a complete stranger do this to me?

"What's your name?" I questioned not entirely interested I just wanted to get back to his place.

Austin's POV:

I wandered aimlessly through the club trying to find Lani to take her back to the room and try and smooth things out because in all honestly a club is not the place for such a thing. You'd think her blue hair would make her stand out but there were so many people in the crowded space it only made it harder to spot her. However I did spot the familiar orange, flicky hair that belonged to Alan hooked onto a girl with similar purple hair. I ran over and grabbed his shoulders turning him to face me.

"Alan!" I shouted over the music.

"Oh hey Aus," his words slurred together, "have you even had a drink tonight? Loosen up man have some fun before we get back to work with Pierce The Veil tomorrow dude," he whined. I shook my head and his eyebrows furrowed together as he frowned at me.

"Have you seen Lani," I asked before he could continue whining about me not drinking.

"Oh she was at the bar with Phil!" Tarni spoke over the music. I didn't thank her I just turned making my way for the bar and sure enough there was Phil but no Lani. I sat on the bar stool next to him resting my elbows on the bar and running my hands through my hair as I gave up on my search. I huffed to myself.

"You wont find her moping at the bar," Phil construed. He was right.

"Did you see where she went?" I inquired. He shook his head.

"She said she was going to the bathroom half hour ago and never came back. I patted him on the shoulder as I left the bar and headed for the bathrooms and that's when I saw Lani hand in hand with an all to familiar face.

"Speaking of the devil," I hissed to myself recalling Alan's whining about the show tomorrow night.

"What's your name?" she giggled to him. My blood boiled and my fists clenched together at the sight of her with someone else, someone she didn't even know. I yelled out his name over the music before he could reply, catching Lani's attention but she continued to ignore me.

"Mike," she looked at me confused but quickly turned away, "that's his name. Mike Fuentes," I finished as they barged past me exiting the club.
