Darling, you'll be okay

Chapter 13

He sang for me. He sang for me!

It was seriously the sweetest thing anyone has ever done.

And not only could he sing, play drums, and play piano but he also had the power to take the pain away. I think my razor envied my new-found relationship. The lyrics echoed once more: Darling, you'll be okay.

I didn't want to go home. I never wanted to have to leave his side. But my mom told me I had to be home by 10.

We arrived at my house a bit early. He wanted to impress my parents by making sure I wasn't late.

"I want them to like me," he said. He looked concerned that they would reject him, a worried expression haunted his countenance for a brief moment before he regained composure. I wonder if he's dealt with rejection before?

We sat in his car for a while. His radio contained three different Pierce the Veil CD's. Ironically, a song came on called "Kissing in Cars." I guess the irony didn't escape his notice either, because he came closer.

"You're absolutely beautiful, inside and out," he said, tucking away a stray hair from my face. "I'm so lucky to have the chance to know you." He leaned in and brushed his lips across mine. Butterflies swelled in my stomach. His lips were pure ecstasy. Holy fuck. This is actually happening.

I got so carried away in the moment, that it took me some time to realize that it was about time for me to go inside. I reluctantly opened the car and stepped into the chilly night.

He walked me to my door, taking off his jacket, he placed it around my shoulders. It smelled like him.

He looked deeply into my eyes, grasping my hands. "We should do this again sometime, I really enjoyed myself." He looked worried for a moment, "I hope you enjoyed yourself as well."

"I had an amazing time," I breathed. We kissed our goodbyes and I closed the door behind me.

A perfect date.

I suddenly realized I had his jacket on still. There was a weight in the right pocket. I reached in and pulled out a bundle of three CD's. All Pierce the Veil. "A Flair for the Dramatic," "Selfish Machines," and "Collide with the Sky."

There was a tiny note attached.

For you. Love, Tristan.
