It never ends

Follow me down

A couple minutes into driving I already heard banging music and the laughs an voices of what seemed like a few hundred people. Wow, oliver was right, there is always something going on.

“where’s the music coming from?” I asked staring up at the lights that were reflected into the sky.

“just a little party festival thing that happens every second Saturday of every month there’s school” The music got louder as oliver drove closer. I could see people on the sidewalks walking towards it.

“ouu let’s go, that sounds fun” we were now close enough that I could see some game booths and half of a stage in the back.

“okay” oliver said pulling into the driveway of the festival, we found a parking spot immediately and we were close enough I could see there were floods of people there and a few rides too. I smiled looking out the window then turned to oliver who was already looking at me.

“come on” I said getting out the car, I basically dragged oliver out the car and he rushed to push the button to lock the door on his car keys. He was finally walking a regular pace.

It was a festival and it didn’t even seem like it was all taking place in a parking lot. This was nice and refreshing. I’ve only ever been to 2 festivals like this in my life, and they were nowhere near upbeat and crowded as this. But as a child it seems like wonderland. If only I knew when I was a little girl.

I came to a little stand to my right. This tall women was behind a ball throwing booth. There was a short line but I didn’t really care. I saw the prizes that were lined on the top railing. In the corner I saw a white bear with a black bow tie and a suit jacket. It was cute.

I tapped olivers shoulder and turned his head from looking at me. I pointed to the bear that was hanging on the side. I just then realized it was the only bear like it hanging up….and I wanted it.

“you want it don’t you” I nodded. I saw a faint grin on his face before he walked up to the front of the booth.

“hello hello my names tara come one, come all knock down all nine pins win a prize” the womans enthusiasm drew in lines of people. I heard a faint southern accent Her smile seemed permanently glued to her face and her bright red and white stripped outfit and hat drew even more attention.

Tara looked at me. “would you like to try” I saw oliver reach into his wallet and draw $3 and hand it to the lady who in return handed me 3 balls. She moved out the way and gestured her arm towards the 3 small towers of pins, each tower stacked in 3.

I took a deep breath before raising one of the ball and aiming towards the middle. I raised the ball a bit higher and threw it hard; it flew towards the first stack and knocked all of them down except the left one. I had aimed a bit more towards the right then I intended. I groaned and out the corner of my eye I saw oliver smirking.

“What” I asked. He shook his head, his arms were folded and his eyes were still on the knocked over pins.

I turned my attention back to the other set of pins stacked up. I aimed, but this time a little further left. I threw the ball expecting all of them to fall but only the top one toppled over.

“ugh!” I saw tara behind the counter trying not to laugh, but it was obvious she was holding it back. I was getting a bit frustrated. I heard oliver snickering behind me.

“it’s not funny!” I said. I wasn’t too mad, it was just a game but still.

“I’m not laughing at you” oliver said. I threw the last ball with the same result, all but one pin.

“you think you can do better?” I challenged. Oliver glanced at the pins in which tara was putting back up. Another girl gave tara 3 dollars and began playing. Me and oliver had to move out the way.

“I don’t think, I can” he was being cocky, but he was also in a playful, happy mood which also made me happy.

A bell went off and everyone’s attention, including my own went towards the girl who just knocked down all the pins in a very short amount of time. I couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous, and embarrassed.

“you really want that bear don’t you” oliver asked, his tone was serious. I nodded, I know it must seem stupid, but I really wanted it.

Oliver took out his wallet and pulled out 3 more dollars.

“What are you doing?”I asked, he didn’t answer as he waited for the next person to finish. That person didn’t win, he missed the bottom two pins on the last set.

When oliver gave Tara the money I realized what he was doing. I couldn’t help but smile, as he threw each ball swiftly into the center of each stack and knocked down each pin. The bell went off and it seemed oliver didn’t even notice as he immediately pointed to the white bear. Tara handed him the bear and he handed it to me planting a soft kiss on my lips.

The bears fur was just as soft as I imagined. It was even more special was that oliver got it for me.

“you’re sweet” I spoke into the kiss, I heard oliver groan.

“ugh, don’t call me that”

I leaned back and looked him in eye.

“Why? It’s a compliment” Oliver took my hand we continued walking through the crowd.

“Because I just don’t like it” I could tell he didn’t want to continue the conversation and even if I did something else was telling me he would give me the same answer just in a different form.

As we were walking through the crowd I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to find alex.

“Hey skyler” Alex smiled. He always seemed so happy. Oliver realized I wasn’t walking with him and turned around, his eyes landed on alex , his expression didn’t change, but he was watching a tall ride that was dropping people 100 feet down.

“hey, what are you doing here” I knew it was a stupid question, but I’m terrible with small talk conversation.

“Just walking around, having fun , last Saturday before school starts, I gotta do something” alexs eyes landed on the bear I was holding on to by the paw. “nice bear, where’d you get it?”

I pointed to the ball throwing stand in which the line got a lot longer. ”just there”

“cool; did you get your schedule for classes yet, they came yesterday” They must’ve have delivered them to the dorms yesterday, but I was at olivers yesterday.

“no, I guess I have to go to my dorm room and get it”

“okay, well nice seeing you” he petted the top of my bear before walking away.

The sky was getting dark and I wanted to see my schedule immediately. I tugged on oliver hand and he turned his attention towards me.

“can we go to my dorm room, they delivered my schedule and I want to get it”

“okay” oliver said taking one last look around. I felt sad about leaving but it is every Saturday and I have a bear to remember it by.

We made our way through the crowd and and made it to olivers car. The dorm rooms weren’t far since the campus isn’t that big. We made it to the dorm buildings in 3 minutes. I got out and assumed oliver was right behind me. I had missed the elevator and I didn’t feel like waiting so I just took the stairs. I heard olivers footsteps echo off the wall.

I came to the floor my room was on and opened the door. I immediately heard a very faint sound. Sounded like voices. I looked at oliver hoping he had an explanation , but he just shrugged. As i got closer towards my dorm room the voices got louder and clearer. A bad feeling grew inside my stomach , one of the voices sounded like Scarlett. My footsteps became softer and slower. I heard a banging sound and more yelling. The feeling in my stomach grew larger as I got right in front of the door and I recognized the other voice as being austins.

Oh no I thought to myself. I had a thought as to what their argument might be about. I prayed I had the key in my pocket cause no way did I want to interrupt what they were doing and get in the middle of it. I felt something cold and hard and as the key touched the lock olivers hand covered mine.

“Are you sure you want to interrupt this” I sighed and nodded. Hopefully they’re in the room and I can get my schedule and get out. I heard another crash and I slowly opened the door. The yelling got louder and my heart stopped as I saw they weren’t in the room, as they were right there in the living room. Scarlett looked at me and I saw she had tears in her eyes. I saw the table In the living room had been flipped upside down and there was a the remnents of a broken glass vase on the floor.

Scarlett started crying again and almost knocked me over running over to me to gie me a tight hug. Austins face was red and him and oliver were already talking.

“He cheated skyler” I know “ he cheated on me, I loved him” I felt her tears on my shoulder. The feeling in my stomach has twisted into a knot and was pulling at me painfully.

“ I’m sorry” I managed to say, I found my voice a bit shaky. She let go and wiped her face, her makeup was smudged and her eyes were red. I felt so bad, even worse I knew and I wanted to tell but now it’s too late. “I need to talk to you” scarlett said taking my hand and dragging me towards the room. I made eye contact with oliver for a split second before the bedroom door was closed.

“I just need someone to talk to” scarlett said leaning on the dresser. I could tell she was two words away from bursting crying again. I felt kind of bad. I knew I should’ve waiting and listened to oliver and came later.

I honestly love this, this would have to be my favorite one out if all of the fan fiction that I have read and I would love to see you write more <3

I was surprised her mom didn't say anything bad to oliver, but I guess that's in the upcoming chapters. Awesome update!
