There's No Such Thing As Too Young

Thirty Eight

*Mike's POV*

"Please come with me, babe." I groaned, tugging on her ankle.

"I really don't feel very well, Mike." She protested, curling further into the blankets of the bed.

Tonight was the night that we had been invited to Romeo's new years eve party, Millie was on her period and refusing to come.

"But you said you were coming the other day!" I exclaimed, climbing onto the bed and laying behind her.

I pulled on her waist, pulling her back to my chest so I could comfortably spoon her.

"That's because I didn't realise I was going to come on this morning." She said softly, playing with my fingers as she also stroked Dimi's fur, who was curled up next to her head.

"Maybe coming out will make you feel better." I suggested, nuzzling behind her ear.

"I feel like shit, Mike. I feel like I could throw up at any moment and I have the worst headache in the world, not to mention the cramps." She sighed.

"Please, Mills. I'll do anything you want me to for a whole week!"

"I can get you to do anything I want anyway, so no, I don't feel very well and I'm going to punch you if you ask One more time!" She snapped, closing her eyes.

I immediately shut up, deciding not to push my luck as Millie seemed to turn into the incredible Hulk when she was on her period.

I removed myself from bed after glancing at the clock, seeing it was 7pm.

Tony was coming to get me at 8pm, we were meeting Vic and Jaime at Romeo's house.

I walked into our closet, which was now filled with all my clothes and Millie's.

I pondered about what to wear, deciding that a black shirt, black jeans and my usual snapback would suffice, it was only a casual bash anyway.

I placed the clothes on the bed by Millie's feet and started stripping off my sweatpants and hoodie.

When I was left in my boxers I looked at Millie who was peering at me slyly.

"I thought you weren't very well." I smirked, pulling my skinny jeans on and buckling my belt up.

"Get lost." Millie mumbled, rolling her eyes and covering her face with a pillow.

"You're a ray of sunshine today, angel." I chuckled, shrugging my shirt on and buttoning it up, also shoving my snapback on my head.

I stretched my arms out, making the shirt fall right and then I sprayed myself with some cologne.

I crawled back into bed behind Millie, turning her around to face me.

She blew her hair out of her face and pressed her hands to my cheeks, patting them.

I laughed and grabbed her hands, bringing her ontop of me.

She rested on my chest, breathing softly into my neck.

"How are you feeling now?"

I rubbed her back gently, hoping to ease some of the pain she was experiencing.

"Tired." She mumbled sleepily, inhaling my scent.

"You gonna get some sleep while I'm out?" I asked, grabbing the TV remote from the bedside table and flicking the televison on.

"Mm." She hummed, curling up on me.

"Don't sleep for too long, you won't sleep tonight then."

Millie didn't respond, only turned her head to watch the TV.

We sat in a comfortable silence, with her watching the TV and me scrolling through my social media sites.

At around 8pm, there was a honk outside, signalling that Tony was here.

I sighed and locked my phone, trying to move Millie.

She made a noise of protest and held onto me tighter.

"Want me to stay here?" I asked with a grin, kissing her hair.

She nodded against my chest.

"Okay, I'll just stay here and annoy you then." I shrugged.

Almost immediately Millie removed herself from me and pushed me off the bed, to the floor.

"Dissapear."

"Ow!" I laughed as I stood up, brushing myself off.

Millie giggled at me.

I leaned down over her and pressed my lips against hers, just relishing in her touch before Tony honked his horn for the second time.

I pulled away and pecked her forehead.

"I won't be home too late, I've got my phone on me if you need me and there's some advil in the cupboard downstairs. Are you going to be okay?" I panicked, shoving my phone, cigarettes, lighter and wallet into my pockets.

"Yeah, don't let Tony drink and drive though." She ordered, I nodded.

"I'll see you later, baby!" I called, rushing out the bedroom door after blowing her a kiss.

I hurried to shove my vans on and I patted my pockets for the last time before leaving the house and getting in Tony's car.

"You take ages to get ready, I've been waiting forever." Tony complained, backing out of the driveway.

"I had to sort Millie out, and shut the hell up, you were only out here for a few minutes!" I scoffed.

"Being a bad girl, was she?" He grinned.

"Nope, she's on her period."

"Gross." Tony gagged, flicking the radio on as he shuddered.

I guffawed loudly.

"I've got a bone to pick with you actually." Tony stated, glancing at me from the corner of his eye.

"What?" I wondered, adjusting my hat.

"Why was I the last One to find out about your engagement? I thought we were best friends!"

"Technically Jaime was the last to find out, you liked the picture on Instagram before he commented on it."

"Nice try." He scoffed.

"I didn't realise we were girls! Speaking of which, do you know what I found out the other day?"

"What?" He asked.

"Did you know that Millie and Fiona tell eachother everything? Like, even the weird stuff..." I trailed off, hoping he'd get what I was saying.

"What?!" He asked, completely horrified.

"Exactly! That's what I was like!"

"No way! Did she mention anything about chocolate?" He wondered, his eyes wide and mouth slightly open.

"No? Chocolate? What about it?" I questioned.

"Erm, nothing."

"Okay...did Fiona mention anything about the-"

"The thong incident? Oh yeah, everyone knows but they're too creeped out to say anything to you." Tony shrugged, cutting me off.

Dammit.

"Shall we end this conversation here?" I asked, just as we pulled onto Romeo's street.

Tony nodded eagerly, parking in a free space amongst the cars that were already lined up.

Tony locked up his car and we made our way upto the large house that was lit up and bustling with people who had migrated outside.

I think everyone had a drink in their hand and I almost felt bad that Tony had to drive.

Tony and I were lost among the large crowd as soon as we stepped into the house.

Tony dissapeared to go hunt for Vic and Jaime, while I looked for Romeo.

He was in the living room, talking to a group of girls who I couldn't deem 'pretty'.

Well, not as beautiful as my Millie.

"Mike!" He called out as soon as he spotted me approaching.

The girls giggled as they saw him hug me, and I even noticed One adjust her dress so her cleavage became more prominent.

Wow, lack of self respect much.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, and instead greeted Romeo.

"How have you been, dude?" I asked, a large smile on my face.

"Busy! Business as usual! I heard you're getting married, Vic just told me, don't know where he's gone though, Jaime dragged him off." Romeo grinned, his dimples evident on his youthful face.

"Yeah, man. I popped the question to Millie on christmas day." I chuckled, hearing the girls sigh and walk away with their heads drooped.

"Where is she?" He wondered, grabbing Two bottles of beer from the table beside us.

"She's ill, I tried to get her to come, but you know what women are like." I laughed, taking a swig of the bitter liquid.

I could tell it was cheap, and I knew why, it was easier to buy cheap beer in bulk.

"I heard that she's young."

"Erm, yeah, who told you?" I frowned.

"Casey, he came to the shop the other day for some work and told me."

"Oh."

"Don't worry about it though, dude. You love eachother, that's all that matters!" Romeo reassured me, patting my shoulder.

I sighed and nodded, rubbing my finger across the top of my beer bottle.

"I'll catch up with you later, man." He spoke, I smiled and watched as he walked away, leaving me alone and surrounded by alot of people I didn't even know.

"Hey, handsome." A voice spoke in my ear, making me jump.

I almost spilt my beer as I turned to look at the petite blonde at my side.

"Erm, hey." I muttered, not at all interested.

"Do you want another beer?" She asked.

"No, I'm good."

"You know, I think you're very good looking to be here alone." She said, running her fake acrylic nails down my arm.

I pushed her hand away, shivering in disgust.

What was with women these days?!

"I'm not alone, my friends are here."

"No girlfriend?" She smirked, eyeing me up.

"My Fiancé is at home." I informed her, making sure to over pronounce my words.

"Oh." Her face dropped.

"I need to go and find my friends, nice talking to you." I lied, rushing off and pushing my way through the crowd.

I searched the hall and made my way into the kitchen.

I only found Tony and Jaime in there, Vic was probably talking to a girl somewhere.

Jaime was leaning against the counter and sipping from a red cup, how clichè.

"Mike, I've got something for you." Tony motioned me over, reaching into his pocket and pulling a joint out.

"Who gave you this?" I wondered, taking the joint and tucking it behind my ear.

"Some guy who said he knew you." Tony shrugged, glaring into his cup of soda.

I felt bad because I knew he liked a drink, but he had to drive us home.

"Well, I'm popping out to smoke this." I announced.

"Millie's going to kill you if she finds out." Jaime sang, looking at me pointedly.

I rolled my eyes, opening the back door and stepping out into the brisk night.

Nobody else was out here, so I was alone.

I took my lighter from my pocket and sparked up the joint, placing my beer bottle on the ground.

I inhaled the smoke, breathing it in and blowing it back out.

I gazed at the stars and continued to smoke my joint, listening to the sound of the crickets chirping away.

In all honesty I was just really bored without Millie by my side.

She's my partner in crime.

I finished the joint all too soon and almost immediately started craving some nerds.

I chucked away the butt and the beer and made my way back inside.

Tony and Jaime had now been joined by Vic and a fairly attractive brunette.

"This is Kayla." He introduced her, she smiled warmly at us all.

"I'm Tony."

"I'm Jaime."

"I'm Mike." I added, waving softly.

We all talked amongst ourselves for a little while and we soon discovered that Kayla and Vic had met before, she actually worked at the guitar shop in town and was very good friends with Romeo.

Thinking about it, I'd noticed how he'd been going to that shop alot recently.

"So, have you Two been seeing eachother long?" Jaime teased, Vic motioned for him to shut up.

"Erm, we're just friends." She blushed.

Vic nodded in agreement and placed a hand on her hip.

"You look like more than friends to me." I smirked at Vic, who was also blushing.

"Mike!" He hissed.

"Don't be embarrassed, bro!" I laughed, feeling the effects of the weed kicking in.

"Oh my god." He mumbled, face palming himself.

Kayla laughed and pulled his hand from his face.

"You know, you should come out with us tomorrow, Kayla." I told her, grinning wider when I saw Vic's eyes widen.

"Really?" She asked nervously, pulling on the hem of her top.

"Yeah, you and Vic should double date with my Fiancè and I."

Vic glared at me while Tony and Jaime watched in amusement.

"Ignore him, he's baked." Vic told her.

"Oh." She frowned.

"I may be high, but what I'm saying is true. Come over to mine and Millie's place tomorrow afternoon, at around Two, we can all hang out and chill for abit." I told them, Kayla looked at Vic shyly.

"Fine, okay." He decided, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist.

I clapped happily.

"Take him home, Tone. He's going to get a bollocking from Millie when she sees him." Jaime chuckled, watching me giggle to myself.

Damn, that was some good weed.

"Anyone got any nerds?" I asked.

"No." Vic answered and I pouted dramatically.

"Come on, dude." Tony laughed, pushing me forward.

I waved and smiled widely at everyone as we left.

I heaved myself into Tony's car, my body feeling heavy from the weed.

"Wow! Look at the time, it's gone so quickly!" I gasped, looking at the small acreen on the dashboard that projected the time and temperature, it was already 11:30pm.

I hummed loudly to myself all the way home, causing Tony to groan in annoyance.

"I love you, man." I told him, patting his cheek.

"Jesus, that was some strong shit. Go, Millie's probably waiting for you." He laughed, pushing my hand away.

I gasped excitedly, shoving open the car door and slamming it behind me.

I pranced up our driveway, not bothering to wave to Tony as I opened the front door.

I was immediately greeted by Rocky as I kicked my shoes off.

"Hey, big guy!" I exclaimed, rubbing his chops.

He followed me with his tail wagging as I made my way to the living room, where the TV was on quietly and the lights were dimmed down.

Millie was fast asleep on the couch, an arm wrapped around her stomach from where she had been in pain.

I leaned over her and stroked her cheek gently, not wanting to startle her awake.

"Wake up, Smoochie." I cooed, watching her beautiful eyes flutter open.

She yawned as she focused on me.

I helped her stand up and she leaned into me as she woke up fully.

She was all warm and cosy.

"Did you have a good night?"

"It was alright, I wished you were there though." I whispered, brushing her hair back behind her ears.

Millie leaned up to press her lips against mine and as soon as they touched, she pushed me away.

I stumbled in suprise.

"Woah." I muttered, my head spinning.

"What have you been smoking?" She asked immediately.

Damn, busted!

Jaime was right, I shouldn't have smoked!

"Erm, nothing." I lied, avoiding her gaze.

She stood with her hands on her hips, meaning she was getting down to business.

"You smoked weed didn't you?" She accused.

I cracked under her hard stare.

"Okay! Enough of the third degree, I smoked a joint! It's not so bad though, baby!" I defended.

"You know I don't like drugs." She spoke, walking out of the room and up the stairs.

"It was only weed." I sighed, following her and dragging my heavy body along.

"I don't care! I told you on our first date that I don't condone drugs, weed included."

"Weed isn't really a drug." I tried to negotiate as we stopped infront of our bedroom.

"Is it legal?"

"...No." I sighed.

"Exactly." And with that, she slammed the bedroom door in my face.

I groaned loudly and banged my head against it.

Happy new year to us.

Dammit, Mike!

Well, looks like I'm sleeping on the couch tonight.

Sigh.
