There's No Such Thing As Too Young

Thirty One

*Mike's POV*

"Can you believe it's christmas eve tomorrow?" I asked Millie as I lay on her bed, my legs propped up against the wall because I was laying upside down.

"Christmas always comes around super quick, One minute it's July and the next it's December. Now, where are my jeans?" Millie hummed, bending down to look under the bed as she looked for her skinny jeans.

She was prancing around the room in her jumper and panties, searching for a certain pair of jeans, even though she had others hanging up.

Girls and their fashion, I'd never understand it.

"Babe, why don't you just wear another pair? You have about Ten different pairs!" I laughed, turning myself the right way on the bed.

"Those are all too big for me." She mumbled, crawling on her hands and knees to look under all the units.

"Wear leggings then?" I suggested, trying not to stare at her bum in those lace cheekies.

"No, I want to wear jeans." She stated, standing up and blowing her hair out of her face.

I rolled my eyes, she could be so stubborn sometimes.

Millie jumped on me, straddling my stomach to look over the back of the bed.

"Ah ha, found them!" She exclaimed, scooting up and leaning down, stretching to grab her jeans.

The position made her basically sit on my face, not that I minded.

"Mills." I spoke against her lower stomach, gripping her hips.

"What? Oh, oops." She blushed, sitting back down properly next to me.

I laughed and rested my hands behind my head, watching as she pulled her jeans on her legs.

She lifted her hips to button them and then flopped back down onto the mattress, rolling on her side to look at me.

She pouted her lips at me.

"What do you want?" I chuckled, eyeing her up suspiciously.

"Nothing, I just love you." She shrugged, sitting up and clambering back onto me.

I rested my hands on her thighs and rubbed them.

Millie tucked her hair behind her ears and leaned down, kissing me sweetly before pulling away and wiping her lipstick off my mouth with her thumb.

"Can I ask you something?" I wondered quietly, playing with the ends of her hair.

"Okay..." She trailed off, looking down at me in question.

"Do you think I'll be a good Dad?" Millie's eyes widened and she coughed awkwardly.

"Erm, yeah, I think so. Why?" She asked, rubbing my chest.

"I just wondered." I shrugged casually.

"Are you pregnant?" She joked, laughing half heartedly.

"No, are you?" I asked bluntly, watching her jaw drop.

Damn, it felt good to finally ask her that.

I'd been worrying since the incident at Mom and Dad's.

"No, I am not pregnant! What makes you ask that?" She gasped, narrowing her eyes.

"You don't need to lie to me, I promise I'll be there for you and the baby." I vowed, placing my hands on her stomach.

"I'm not pregnant, Mike!" She defended, pushing my hands away.

"But you were being sick and Mom said that she always fainted when pregnant with Vic, and you fainted too." I frowned, awfully confused.

"I was just ill, Mike! That doesn't mean I'm pregnant, which I'm definately not by the way!" She exclaimed, crossing her arms across her chest.

"Oh my god." I groaned, covering my red face with my hands.

I was so bloody embarrassed.

What kind of guy accuses his girlfriend of being pregnant?

I wish I could crawl under a rock right now.

I could suddenly hear Millie giggling above me and she tried prying my hands away from my face, succeeding.

I tried to move them but she pinned them to the bed, locking eyes with mine as she still giggled.

"I can't believe you thought I was knocked up!" She laughed, her eyes sparkling.

"In my defence it was Mom's idea!"

"Oh god!" She giggled, laughing even harder.

"Stop laughing at me! I thought there was going to be another Fuentes running around!"

Millie doubled over falling next to me.

"That's it!" I announced, diving on her and tickling her.

She squirmed and yelped, begging me to stop.

"Mike! Please! I'm sorry!" She begged, trying to dodge my fingers as they jabbed into her sides.

"Say 'Mike, I love you so much and I'll never laugh at your expense again, even if I want to'!"

"Mike, I love you so much and I'll never laugh at your expense again, even if I want to!" She exclaimed, I grinned and stopped, laying down on her.

She was breathing heavily and her chest was heaving.

An idea suddenly popped into my mind and I lifted my head, resting my chin between her boobs.

Millie looked at me and rolled her eyes, obviously getting the wrong idea.

"No." She said flatly.

"No, I don't want sex...yet anyway. But, I have an idea." I grinned.

"Oh yeah? What?" She asked, running her fingers down my nose.

"I'm gonna teach you some self defence." I stated, sitting up and pulling her with me to the floor.

"What for?" She frowned.

"To protect yourself against all the dicks at your school and in this horrid world, just incase something happens and I can't do anything or I'm not there to protect you."

"Uh.." She started, shaking her head.

"No, come on. This is going to help you, you need to know how to protect yourself."

She sighed loudly but nodded.

"Right, turn around." She stared at me for a second, but turned around so she was facing the bedroom wall.

I stood behind her.

"What do you do if someone grabs your ass?" I asked, grabbing her ass for experimental purposes.

"Oh, that's easy." Millie said, turning around and cupping my face.

She stood on her tiptoes and smashed her lips on mine.

I was stunned but kissed back, pulling away after a few minutes.

"What was that for?" I asked breathlessly.

"You asked what I'd do if someone grabbed my bum..."

"You can't kiss someone who grabs your bum, Millie. They're a sexual predator, you have to defend your body against them." I explained.

"But you're the only person who grabs my bum."

"Yes, I know. But what if some stranger grabbed your bum? You aren't going to kiss them, are you?"

"No." She grumbled, pouting.

"Exactly." I stated, spinning her around to face the wall again.

"Mike."

"Hush, now I'm going to teach you the right way to defend yourself against perverts. Okay? Right, elbow me!"

"Mike, I'm not elbowing you!"

"Just do it! It wont hurt me, I'm made of muscle."

"Yeah, okay." She scoffed.

"Babe, elbow me."

"No way!"

"Do it!"

So, she did.

I groaned loudly, falling to the floor and holding my ribcage.

"Mike!" She yelped, dropping to her knees and holding my arms.

She touched me and I groaned loudly again.

"I'm so sorry! I knew this was a bad idea." She cried, her bottom lip quivering.

I immediately burst out laughing making Millie look at me.

"Gotcha!" I guffawed, not in pain at all.

"I can't believe you! I thought I'd hurt you!" She gasped, slapping me on the chest.

"No offence or anything, Babe. But, you suck! You couldn't hurt a fly." I giggled, watching her cross her arms across her chest.

"Hmph."

"Are you mad at me?" I teased, pulling an arm from her chest to bring her hand towards me.

I kissed each fingertip, whipping out my deadliest weapon...the puppy dog eyes.

She tried to act hard and stern but she completely melted.

"No." She mumbled, I smiled in victory.

I glanced at the clock on the wall.

It was only 1pm.

"Do you wanna go to the mall?" I asked her.

"Will it not be busy? It's Two days before christmas, it'll be hectic."

"Hmm, you've got a point. What about taking a trip to Target?"

"Yes!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands.

I laughed at her.

She had this weird obsession with Target and just liked walking around it with me.

"Get dressed up warm." I chuckled, lifting us both from the floor.

Millie darted to the closet, pulling out her coat, hat, scarve and mittens from it.

She also threw my thickest hoodie at me, hitting me in the face.

"Hey!" I exclaimed, causing her to snicker as she pulled her garments on.

I dressed myself too, shoving on a beanie and my watch.

"Ready?" I asked, grabbing my phone from the bedside table.

"Yep!"

We pulled our shoes on and made our way out of the house, into the cold.

You know, for living in San Diego, the cold weather was intense.

We clambered into my car, immediately switching on the heat.

"Let's play a game."

"A game? What kind of game?" Millie asked, resting her mitten clad hand on my knee.

"Twenty questions."

Millie shook her head with a quiet chuckle.

"What?" I asked, curious as to why she was laughing.

"We played that the first time you took me out."

"Oh yeah, that was such a great day." I sighed, remembering our first date at the country park.

"You kissed me for the first time too."

"Best day of my life, anyway, let's play Twenty questions, you go first."

"What's your favourite song off Collide With The Sky?" She asked, squeezing my knee.

"I think it's Bulls In The Bronx, do you see us getting married?" I asked, watching her out the corner of my eye as I changed gears.

"Maybe, do you?"

"Yes, how manh kids do you want?"

"One, how abou-oh my god, pull over!" Millie exclaimed, making me jump and swerve.

"That's not a question."

"Pull over! I'm serious!" She yelled, I did as I was told, worried and wondering what the hell was going on.

As soon as I cut the engine, Millie unbuckled her seatbelt and dived out the car.

I shouted her and jumped out too, worried for her safety as we were on the side of the highway.

"Millie! What the hell are you doing?!" I asked, jogging behind her as she ran to something.

She stopped and fell to her knees and it was then that I noticed what she was doing.

A dog was cowering away from her, scared and shaking.

I slowly approached them, being cautious incase the dog attacked her suddenly.

"Hey, little guy. Come here, I'm not gonna hurt you." She cooed, holding her hand out.

I watched as the dog slowly came forward, sniffing her hand and then licking it.

"Good boy." She soothed, reaching out to touch his head.

He came closer to the point where he was basically in her lap.

I joined her by her side, sitting down too.

"Hi, buddy." I said, holding my hand out so he could sniff me too.

His docked tail waggled as Millie continued to pet him and cuddle him to get him warm.

"What's he doing out here on the highway?" I wondered, looking on his collar for a label.

There wasn't one though, only a note attached.

I pulled it off, unrolling it.

'My name is Rocky, I'm 3 years old and my owners can't take care of me anymore.

I'm too big for the house and have to be walked alot.

If you find me, please take care of me.'

My eyes skimmed over the words.

"Millie." I spoke, gaining her attention.

She looked at me and I handed her the note, I patted my lap for the big dog.

He came over to me, placing his paws on my knees.

I took the time to look him over.

Rocky was a tan boxer, with a white chest and big, brown eyes.

I patted him gently, rubbing his ears.

He was still shaking so I pulled my hoodie off, wrapping it around him.

He barked happily, licking my cheek.

I laughed at him.

For a dog that had just been abandoned, he sure was happy.

Then again, he was probably just happy to see us.

"We need to take him to a shelter." I told Millie as she folded the note and shoved it in her pocket.

"No! We can't take him to a shelter! They'll put him down!" She exclaimed.

"What are we supposed to do with him then, Millie? We can't just leave him here, he could get killed by a car!"

"We're taking him home." She demanded, standing up.

"What are we going to do with him at home? We have Dimi!"

"I don't care, we'll take him home and get him fed! We'll give him a bath and get him warm, then we'll decide what to do." Millie told me, pouting her bottom lip.

"Fine." I mumbled, guiding Rocky off me so I could stand up.

I reached down to pick him up, making sure he was still wrapped in my hoodie.

He was a heavy dog and I struggled to walk.

Millie opened the back door of my car, and I placed Rocky on the backseat.

He barked again and I just shook my head.

Millie and I both got into thr car again, and she turned the heat on high.

We clipped our seatbelts and I pulled away from the side of the highway, turning around to go back home.

Wow, we start off by wanting to go to Target and now we're going home with a dog.

Millie had turned herself around in her seat and was stroking Rocky's chest.

His tongue was hanging out happily and she giggled.

We finally arrived home and we got Rocky our of the car.

To our suprise, he jumped out the car and bounded up to Millie's front door.

She laughed and unlocked it, but I wondered in first, guiding Rocky up into the bathroom.

Millie joined me soon after, she'd discarded all her winter garments and had rolled the sleeves of her jumper up.

She helped Rocky into the bath and he sat patiently as the tub filled up.

I kneeled by the tub and began wetting his fur, Millie soaped him up.

He was spotless clean once we'd finished, and thanked us by shaking his fur and soaking us both.

I sighed and wiped my face, looking down at Millie as she sat on the floor, drying the dog off with her hairdryer.

He was content and sat proudly once dry.

"So, what are we doing with him?" I asked Millie, folding my arms across my chest and leaning back against the bathroom counter.

"Keeping him." Millie said quietly, biting her lip.

"We can't keep him, we have a cat and we don't even know how he behaves."

At that moment, Dimi wondered into the bathroom, stretching out but freezing when she noticed the huge boxer.

Millie and I held our breath as we watched the Two aknowledge eachother.

Dimi stepped forward and brushed around Rocky's legs, purring.

Millie and I looked at eachother.

She wrapped her arms around Rocky's neck and pressed her head against his, pouting.

I scoffed and shook my head.

Millie pouted even harder and I swear the cat wasn't on my side because she sat down and looked up at me too.

"Fine! We can keep him!" I groaned, unfolding my arms.

"Yay!" Millie exclaimed.

"I'll go to the pet store and get him some food, toys and other supplies." I sighed, exiting the bathroom.

"I love you!" Mille shouted from the bathroom.

Rocky barked too.

I just shook my head with a breathy laugh.

"I love you too!"

Wow, what a day...and it's not even 3pm.
