There's No Such Thing As Too Young

Twenty Five

*Mike's POV*

"Vic? Why is it so dark in here? What's going on?" I asked, holding Millie's hand tightly as the group followed behind Vic into Tabasca.

It was almost pitch black as we walked through the dimly lit hallway.

Vic didn't answer me.

"Seriously, Vic! This is so sketch-" I spoke but was cut off when Vic opened the door to the bistro.

"Happy Birthday!" The words echoed in my ears, and Millie jumped from next to me, scurrying behind my back.

I was suprised to say the least.

Jack, Alex, Rian, Zack, Ben, Danny, Cameron, Sam and James from All Time Low and Asking Alexandria were stood in the room.

Our crew members were also there.

The room was decorated brightly, just like when Millie had her party.

But, this time it was a suprise party for me.

Wow.

I turned to Vic and the guys in pure shock.

"You did this for me?" I asked, my mouth agape.

"Yep, happy birthday, bro." He grinned, hugging me and patting my back.

"How?" I asked, still in shock,

"We rented the place out." Tony spoke up, his arm firmly around Fiona's waist.

"Happy birthday, dude." Casey said, slapping my cheek and heading straight for the bar with Jaime.

I was pushed into the room and I was swarmed by my friends as they greeted me.

Millie was still cowering behind me and I could basically feel her anxiety hitting the roof and that made me anxious.

"Hold on, mate." I said to Alex, who I was currently speaking to, I motioned Casey over to me.

He looked confused for a second, before wondering over.

"Whats up?"

"Take Millie with you, she's abit nervous." I murmered, nodding my head back to Millie who was gripping my shirt.

He nodded in understanding.

I turned around to face Millie, ducking down to kiss her nose.

"I'll be with you in a few minutes, I'm just going to mingle. Stay with the guys, and don't go anywhere on your own." I whispered in her ear, she nodded silently.

"Come on, little lady. Lets get you a drink, ease that overactive brain of yours." Casey teased, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, leading her over to the bar where Fiona was with Tony.

"She's cute." Jack commented, prancing over to where Alex and I stood.

"She's also taken." I warned, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Chill, dude. I have my price charming right here, isn't that right, Alex?" Jack giggled, kissing Alex's cheek.

I rolled my eyes at them, used to their behaviour as I was around them constantly when we toured together.

"Dude!" Alex cussed, punching Jack's arm.

They started play fighting.

I was suddenly pulled away to the side.

I looked to see who it was.

"Worsnop!" I exclaimed, pulling the bearded man in for a hug.

"Fuentes! How you been, man? It's shit getting older, isn't it?" He boomed, laughing as he hugged me back.

"I've been good, you? I already see you're taking advantage of the bar." I spoke, motioning to the drinks he had in each hand.

"Free bar." He nodded, his british accent thick.

"Free bar? Nice! I'll catch up with you lot later, don't enjoy yourself too much." I chuckled, withdrawing from him and wondering back over to Millie.

Vic was sat with her, keeping a close eye on her.

He knew what she could get like when she was stressed.

I'd told him everything about her, and he understood as he went through alot of the same things when he was a teenager.

I hovered behind her, placing my hands on her hips.

"Are you alright?" I asked her, speaking loudly due to the club music now playing.

She nodded and leaned back into me, holding onto One of my hands tightly.

I waved the bartender over.

"Two whiskey and cokes please." He nodded and went to preparing our drinks.

Millie rubbed cirlces on the back of my hand, still looking around and analyzing her surroundings.

I watched her carefully, noticing how she looked at everyone, tilting her head to the side and gauging their personalities.

The bartender who was named 'Gary' placed our drinks infront of us, and I handed Millie hers.

I then grabbed mine and took her hand, leading her to an empty booth, not wanting her to panic with so many people surrounding her.

I pulled her into my arms as I sat down, and she perched herself on my lap.

She took shy sips of her drink before setting it down onto the table next to mine.

I rubbed her knee.

"You look very beautiful tonight."

"Thank you, you look very handsome." She replied, rubbing her fingers over my cheek.

I buried my face in the crook of her neck, pressing my lips to her skin, inhaling the smell of her perfume.

Man, I loved her scent.

Millie turned my face and tilted my chin, bringing me in for a kiss.

I eagerly responded, just happy to be with her right now.

Last year I spent my last birthday on tour, in a cramped van with the other guys, driving through different countries.

Millie and I pulled away as someone else slipped into the booth.

We looked over to see Matt, our tour manager, with his wife, Laura.

"How you doin'?! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!" He exclaimed, knocking knuckles with me.

"You saw me Two days ago, dude. We spent Three weeks together touring, idiot." I laughed, holding onto Millie.

She was swirling her drink around her glass.

"Hi! I don't believe we've met, I'm Laura." Matt's wife introduced herself to Millie, holding her hand out.

"Millie." She responded quietly, hesitantly shaking Laura's hand.

I knew Millie didn't like physical contact with anyone she didn't know, and I was proud of her right now for stepping out of her comfort zone.

We all mingled for the next hour or so, just chilling out, catching up, sharing tour stories, drinking and just having a good time.

It was nice seeing my friends, and I was so grateful for my band members doing this for me.

I'd just left Millie with Fiona again, while I went out for a cigarette.

I leaned against the wall, lighting up my smoke and breathing in deeply.

I let out a sigh of relief, leaning back against the brick wall of Tabasca's and closing my eyes.

"Overwhelemed?" Someone chuckled, leaning next to me.

I opened my eyes to see Ben stood by me, smoking himself.

"You could say that, having a good time?" I asked, flicking away some ash.

"Free bar, mate. Need I say anymore?" Ben laughed, his cigarette hanging from his mouth.

"Good point." I grinned, shaking my head and taking another drag.

Goosebumps covered my skin, as the bitter air surrounded me.

"There's some fit girls here, man." Ben stated.

"Yeah? I didn't notice." I shrugged.

I had a girlfriend who I loved very much.

Why would I need to look at other girls?

Nobody would ever compare to Millie.

"There's a brunette in there that I've got my eye on, she's sexy as hell, I think she'll look even better underneath me though." Ben said.

"What does she look like?"

"Brunette, like I said. She's tall, with amazing legs." He said dreamily, practically drooling.

"What's she wearing?" I wondered, absentmindedly gazing at the smoke emitting from my cigarette.

"A black dress and leather jacket." He answered.

I nodded and butted out my cigarette, before promptly grabbing Ben by his shirt and pushing him against the wall.

Ben jumped in suprise.

"Keep away from my girlfriend, and I swear to god if I catch you even looking at her, I'll knock your teeth out. Do you understand?" I growled.

"I didn't know, man! I swear!" He defended, his eyes wide with fright.

I could be scary when I wanted to.

"I mean it, Bruce. Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself, because I can assure you that the only person she's going to be 'under' tonight, is me."

Ben gulped and nodded.

I loosened my hands from the tight grip I had on him, and pulled myself away.

Ben immediately straightened himself up.

"I'll be watching you." I warned, before walking away back into the bistro.

I made my way back over to the bar, wrapping an arm tightly around Millie.

"What took you so long?" Millie asked, wrapping her arms around my neck.

I saw Ben walk back in out of the corner of my eye.

"I couldn't get my lighter to work, darling." I lied, bending down to capture her in a deep kiss.

Sometime later we were all outside of mine and Vic's place, pretty much hammered except for Jaime and Vic.

Actually, Millie was only tipsy too.

She could handle her alcohol well and was a quiet drunk.

Everyone was too drunk to go back to their own homes, so we were all crashing here.

"Bed, baby." I told Millie, dragging her through the front door.

I leaned down on wobbling legs, and pulled off her heels, chucking them to the side.

"Goodnight! Thanks for the great birthday." I slurred, giving everyone a thumbs up as they scattered throughout the house.

Millie giggled and grabbed my hand, pulling me up the stairs.

I rested my hands on her hips as she guided me to my room, pulling me inside and locking the door behind us.

We both got ourselved changed, and Millie was dressed in one of my shirts and her underwear.

If I wasn't so drunk I probably would have jumped her.

We then collapsed on the bed, with Millie in my arms like normal.

"Goodnight, beautiful." I sleepily mumbled.

"Goodnight, Mikey."
