There's No Such Thing As Too Young

Eighteen

I sighed heavily, resting my chin in my hands as I sat at the cash register.

My day had been awful ever since Mike had left for tour this morning.

School sucked, as usual.

I was pushed into lockers and my side was killing, the bruise was large and inflamed.

I was now at work, bored out of my mind.

I worked at the CVS in the middle of town, and I was due to finish my shift in an hour.

The shop had been dead all evening, and Marcy, my manager had left me to lock up.

I still had to walk home too, not looking forward to it as it was starting to get dark and Mike wasn't here to pick me up.

Man, I missed him.

On the bright side though, we were skyping tonight!

I couldn't wait to see his face.

I was trying to think positive, because being negative has an effect on everyday life, and manipulates how you deal with daily activities.

Finally, after an hour of sitting in the empty shop, it was time for me to go home.

I shrugged my jacket on, grabbing my bag and the keys for the shop.

I locked up, shivering at the cool air that hit my skin under my jacket.

It was nearing the end of November, and it was my own fault for not wearing a thicker jacket.

I started my journey home, walking speedily to get home to see Mike on skype.

The streets got eerie at night, and all the weirdos came out.

It was around 7pm, and I was just around the corner from the house.

I started sprinting the rest of the way, my anxiety creeping up on me.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I found myself unlocking the door, stepping inside and securing the deadbolt.

Even if my house was seemingly empty without my crazy boyfriend running a mock, it was nice to be secure.

I toed my shoes off and dumped my bag, pulling my phone out of my leather jacket.

I pulled up Mike's contact as I made my way through the house, switching all the lights on.

I sent him a brief text.

To: Mike <3

I'm home! I want to see your face!

I occupied myself with filling up Dimi's food and water bowls as I waited for Mike to reply, and he did.

From: Mike <3
Recieved: 7:17
I'm online, baby!

I squealed like a little girl and sprinted through my house and up the stairs, into my room.

My Macbook was on my bed from this morning, where I was listening to some music while getting ready for school.

While it was loading up I got changed out of my clothes, slipping on my onesie to get warm.

I plopped down onto my bed, opening up Skype and finding Mike's contact, I immediately selected it and waited for him to answer.

I had butterflies in my tummy and my cheeks were red with excitement.

"Millie!" Mike shouted as he appeared on my screen, a smile formed on my face.

"Mikey." I replied, tilting my head to the side and taking in his appearance.

His face was even more stubbly than when he left this morning, and his hair was disheveled under his hat.

"I miss you." He simply stated, jutting out his pierced lip.

"I miss you more." I sighed, brushing my hair out of my face and pulling the hood up on my onesie.

"Oh my god! Is that a onesie?" Mike asked excitedly, coming closer to the screen.

"Yes, it is." I chuckled.

"I need to get myself one of those! Your hair is straight too! That's weird!" He exclaimed, his brown eyes wide.

"What do you mean, 'it's weird'? I've had my hair straight infront of you loads! You've straightened it for me before!" I laughed.

He was crazy sometimes.

"Yeah, but you don't wear it like that often! You normally use that stick thing to make it wavy!" He said, making motions with his hands.

"You mean a curling wand?" I asked, an amused smile on my face.

"That's the one!" He replied, snapping his fingers.

"Where are you?"

"Albuquerque!"

"When are you coming home?" I wondered, playing with my duvet.

Just talking to him through a screen was enough to make me upset and realise how much I really missed him, and he's only been gone less than a day.

"In Seventeen days, beautiful. I'll be home on the Twelfth, Two days before my birthday."

"I can't wait to have you here."

"I feel the same, love. Anyway, how has your day been?" He asked me, looking concerned.

I could tell he was thinking about the incident the other day.

"It was alright, just the usual." I shrugged.

"Did anyone hurt you?" He tensed up as he spoke, and his jaw tightened.

"I was only pushed into a locker, no big deal."

"Mm, have you eaten today?" Mike interrorgated, studying my face.

"I had some toast this morning." I smiled, peering over as Dimi hopped onto the bed and toddled over to me.

"Good girl, and Dimi! Hi! Are you missing Daddy?" Mike cooed as he saw Dimi, she stared intently at the screen, wondering why Mike was in there.

She purred and nestled herself in my arms, burying her face in the sleeve of my onesie.

"I think she misses you."

"I miss you both." He told me for the second time.

"Same." I breathed, slumping slightly.

"Hi, Millie!" I heard people shout, suddenly Mike dissapeared and the screen went black with sounds of static and rustling.

Before I could react, Tony and Jaime's faces popped up.

They both had big smiles.

"Hi, boys." I waved, relieved.

"We miss you and Fiona!" Jaime exclaimed.

"We miss you both too, it's her birthday next week and I think she's sad that tony isn't here." I informed them.

"I'll phone her in a second, I promise i'll do something with her when I'm back though." Tony swore, smiling softly.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine in a few days."

Tony nodded and I heard shouting, along with a few curse words.

"We have to go now, Millie! Your boyfriend has turned into Godzilla! Look after yourself." Jaime exclaimed, dissapearing with Tony.

Mike re-appeared.

"Sorry about them, they're idiots." He told me, raising his voice so they could hear.

"It's fine, honestly."

Mike grinned and his phone was in view.

It clicked what he was doing.

"Mike!" I whined, hiding my face as he took a picture of me.

"Sorry, baby. I just want the world to see what a perfect girlfriend I have, have you seen my instagram? You're all I post." He chuckled, fiddling with his phone as he uploaded the photo for the world to see.

"I checked out your Tumblr tag, all our pictures are on there."

"Yeah, fans take them from my profile and upload them on there. Alot of people are curious, my Mom text me earlier and she's desperate to meet you. Don't worry though, I made an excuse."

"Good, and yeah. Some of your fans are fucking mean, they've said some horrible stuff about Fiona and I. I'm scared to think about what will happen if they found out who we were, they're scary." I muttered, and Mike sighed.

"Ignore the comments, Princess. They'll find something else to occupy themselves with soon enough, Tony and I aren't that interesting. They get like it with every band guy, it's just jealousy."

"I guess so." I nodded, stroking Dimi.

"I need to go and get ready, Mills. I'll text you in the morning, stay safe." Mike said sadly.

"Alright, can we skype tomorrow?" I pouted, dissapointed that he needed to go.

"Of course, Princess. I love you."

"I love you too." I replied.

Mike grinned and blew me a kiss, which I returned.

He waved and the call ended.

I lay back on my bed, with Dimi on my chest as she purred contentedly.

I'd love to be a cat.

They don't have to worry about life.

Sigh.

I miss Mike.
